Used 2005 Toyota Camry Solara Consumer Reviews
A great looking car!
This car has everything someone who needs space, but wants a sporty look, could want. Assume it is a great car, except for the following: 1.What really bugs me is that the transmission balks on re-acceleration after slowing down to about 6 m.p.h. (say you are slowing for a traffic light and it turns green just before you get there.) It jerks forward when you apply the gas in this situation. There is no way to avoid this without slowing traffic behind you while you gingerly nurse the gas pedal. 2. Forget trying to back out of a driveway with confidence. The beautiful lines that we love to look at from the outside hamper the visibilty from the inside - back and sides.
Proud to Own
Bought head turning red SLE on 8/27/2004. Extremely happy with ownership. Feels like slow moving beauty even at 55 mph

Glad I did!
I dreamed of owning a convertible, but never thought it practical until now. Comfortable leather, awesome features, enough ROOM for all (even my hubby at 6'4"), a back seat that is REALLY a back seat, and easy to use automatic controls for just about everything. The ride is smooth, almost feels like I am in a video game at times. I am most impressed with how quiet it is with the top up, I don't even realize it is a convertible, unless of course the top is down HA HA! GREAT JOB TOYOTA!
best car ever owned
we have absolutely enjoyed this car and even had it customized to make it more of a guy's car with 18" black chrome wheels, blacked out grill and custom headlights and tail lights.... well worth the money to make the car more california street cool. only negative is the obstruction of rear view due to backseat headrests made standard in '05 for rollover safety.
no problems and fun to drive
I've had my solara convertible for 6 months now and it is a enjoyable to drive and offers a comfortable drive. The styling is also very slick and I'm often given compliments on the car at stop lights saying how much it looks like the pricier Lexus SC430. I actually looked at both cars at the NY Auto Show last spring with the intent to purchase the Lexus but with the drivers seat adjusted comfortably for myself my seatback actually touched the rear seat leaving no room even for a child to sit comfortably in the rear however I have fit 2 grown adults in the rear of my solara with the my seat in a comfortable position and I'm 6-0 tall.
