We are a jeep family (26 years) & I wanted nothing but a jeep. Searched for 9 months built them online, test drove & almost purchased. I'm a mom who is the onlyone in the vehicle at most times so I wanted a smaller SUV. But when i saw this C-HR I fell in love! I wanted a the SUV feel & the small size of a car. Didnt want to have to jump in or crawl out & the C-HR is just that, perfect, compact, right height of getting in & out of the vehicle. Still have the feel of SUV by putting the seats down & carry what I need at any time. Love the way the seat just wrap around me & sit so comfortable. Dash is at the perfect angle where the driver can see & do if needed, since the controls are on the steering wheel you just need to glance at it. I would love the remote start, the rain guards for my doors & navigation BUT to know I'm not paying for the "JEEP" name & getting a great vehicle, is a relief.

This thing caught my eye and has not failed to impress. All the extras have made this the most fun vehicle i have ever had. I think reviewers who say it has problems accelerating, haven't put the car in sport mode. in sport mode it flies. The toyota safety package is what sold me on this though, the other comparable crossover suvs dont offer near what toyota has standard here.

Interesting looking; lacks power, small interior

We liked the exterior looks of this car, but lack of power and small interior made this is no-go for us. The front passenger seating required that knees practically be touching the dashboard. I floored it at a green light, and no one could tell - it just gently accelerated up to speed - I would hate to think about trying to pass someone on the freeway or going up a steep hill. Blind spots due to large pillars to the left and right of rear window, but Toyota Safety Sense standard is nice, though this car has the pared-down version for smaller vehicles, not the full-featured version like the RAV4, Camry, etc. We wound up purchasing a RAV4 instead - more power, more room, more features, etc. But don't expect to use Toyota's telenav through your smartphone - it's worse than using a printed out map - my 2002 Lexus GPS ran circles around it. Come on Toyota, admit your mistake, dump telenav, and go with Android Auto and Apple Car Play like everyone else has figured out, or do you want to lose hundreds of thousands of car sales?

If you’re looking to buy a C-hr, don’t. I fell for how good it looks and didn't do a proper test drive, neither a complete all around quality check. These are all the issues with it: Very underpowered and the transmission is always looking for the right gear and the power band is inconsistent, which is very annoying. You never feel confident driving it, even less passing another car on a two way. Rattle noises coming from dashboard interior since the first few weeks, Toyota could not fix it... Sporadically water leaks a bit inside through the window corner around front pillars, Toyota just replaced the weather seals but still leaks, although less. All the interior plastics and rubberized materials are beyond crap, they get scratched and scuffed extremely easy, even with your own skin. The paint coat is the worst I’ve seen on any car, period. It is extremely thin and soft. Every rock chip on bumpers will expose the black plastic and on metal panels it will expose metal which and they will rust fast. The paint job is simply unnaceptable. Same goes with the exterior plastics trim, it is thin and soft, you cannot even touch it too much because you will permanently dent it. In just a few months the black started fading even though it is garage kept and and they get conditioned on every wash. My kids powerwheel’s has better paint and plastic materials. AC started smelling awful after just a few months and the filter had to be replaced. Cabin noise is ridiculous, wind noise, road noise, brake system noises, rain, etc... the wheel wells has no insulation whatsoever and instead it just has some plastic splashguards that are loose fitted and are extremely noisey, specially on rain, the roar noise is just ridiculous. It will seem that you’re on a cabriolet go-cart. The weather seals are attached with just a few plastic clips, there’s no tape seal, and if you aren't careful, you will brake them just washing the car. Also the weather seals are made with a very soft and thin rubber that probably wont last long. When the car gets parked under sun, the AC will not activate right away, sometimes takes around 10 to 15 minutes to activate, Toyota couldn't fix it.... Battery died at 9 months, was replaced under warranty. The infotainment system is awful, tons of mal functions, specially with bluetooth connections. These are my problems I had with my 2018 US model. If you look and research on the web you will find a lot of owners with the same issues and some even with blown transmissions. The MPG was good for the first 200 miles, always git around 30mpg, now I’m always getting around 24mpg on the same so no idea what is going on there... Go ahead and do your research on the forums and you’ll see that mine is not an isolated case. This is by far the worst car Toyota has ever made. It is nothing like a Toyota, or any other brand really. It is like a cheap unbranded chinese car. Don’t get deceived by how good it looks and the good reviews left by excited new owners on the first few days.

This is a magnificent vehicle. I went with my mother to purchase a Pirus for her, but she fell in love with the style, price, and comfort of the CHR and got the CHR. After helping her program and operate certain things on it, I took a liking to it and decided to get one myself. It’s a big step. Not only is it my first Toyota, it is my first foreign vehicle. So far it is already paying for itself with the difference in gas and insurance. All the neutral ratings I put in were because I have not had it long enough, accept for the acceleration. The acceleration is not impressive but not weak. Consider however that this is compared to my Camaro. I rather have the acceleration stay as it is with the same price than have a turbo charged one for thousands more. This vehicle is also uniquely designed. Extremely original without a freakish look. It is the most professional new look I have seen developed in a long time.
