Love'n it
I traded my 2000 4runner limited for the 2005 2WD Limited I have to say this vehicle is by far the best vehicle I have owned, a nav system, 10 speaker sound system, leather heated seats, a back up camera, power moon roof 17 mpg city 23 hwy, and a ride that is excellent. 245 hp, a tow package (5000 lbs) well you get the picture, love everything about my 4runner. Oh it comes with 4 different airbags. Plan on keep it for a long time. Oh yeah it runs on regular unleaded fuel, yahoo!!!
Good looking and fun to drive
I've put on about 5K miles in the last couple of months and have not been disappointed. The ride is really smooth and the V6 is more than adequate for quiet acceleration. Toyota has such a great reputation that it was really easy to buy this vehicle w/o worrying about quality. The first weekend I took it cross country skiing with 3 friends. We laid one seat down and put all the skis and poles in the back. I even slept one night in the back by putting the entire back seat down and used a sleeping bag and a pad. I'm 6' tall and could sleep comfortably. This would make a great vehicle for camping no doubt. My only complaint is the stock stereo is a little anemic.

Toyota 4Runner Sport Edt
I'm a big guy 6'3 and this vehicle turns out not to be the most comfofortable in long trips....but it is great in bad weather which I did buy it for that reason I have a long commute and I'm in law enforcement and have to get to work in all kinds of weather.
The Total Package
Highly recommended for anyone considering purchasing an SUV. After driving BMWs for 16 years, the transition was relatively easy. Although the 4Runner is built on a truck platform, it drives like a car. It tackles bumps on the road with ease and offers a smooth ride. Deft touch in regard to road handling; negotiates curves with little sway. The base V6 offers more than enough power if you don't plan on towing a boat or trailer. You don't need to punch the accelerator to feel the surge of power. The list of standard features is considerable compared to others in its class. Comfortable and roomy second row for passengers. Toyota reputation for reliability and quality was a huge selling point.
Satisfaction/Peace of mind
I begin by saying that my last two vehicles prior to this purchase were American made SUVs. As the years went by it seemed the form and fit of major components, doors, hood, trunk became somewhat loose with weakened hinges (especially the doors). I also experienced a myriad of electrical problems with items such as, rear latch release, rear wiper, some of the dash lighting and other electrical problems. With this vehicle I feel a sense of joy as it relates to reliability and the "feel"as I drive the vehicle. Good reviews by leading consumer groups does'nt hurt either. Interior surfaces and materials are not cheap and overlaid with all mannsr of plastic. The engine has power to boot.
