Best SUV made for the price

This is a high-end vehicle for a mid- range price. I purchased my 4-runner brand new and 63,000 miles later have only one regret. This truck was not the best design for tall people but ok with the floor position for the seat completely back. Not much ceiling clearance either. Now with that said the Toyota 4- runner deserves recognition as a premier SUV by which all others should be judged. Large enough for a family of 4 to take on vacation, convenient roof racks ,and equipped with a powerful 4.0L engine that can effortlessly take you anywhere. Toyota has always impressed me with quality control that is unparalleled by any auto maker in for comparatively priced vehicles.

Hype

My wife's 4Runner was showing a fault message so she took it to the dealer, the message has been removed but now the windows don't work. So much for the hype about Toyota Quality. The fuse panel is very low and doesn't have a fuse puller so back to the shop again, at least it's still under warranty. The layout of the acessories is awful, it's a safety issue to try to find things and drive. Pull off the road before selecting the defroster of looking for the cruise control. Fuel economy is really poor, under 9 mpg towing a lightweight trailer on flat ground. The 4.7L engine sure isn't up to the challenge.

Great Travel and Tow Vehicle

I'm sad to have to sell my 'baby'; however, we no longer have a travel trailer and have another vehicle -- Toyota Camry SE. Husband no longer drives and two vehicles are unnecessary. Car runs great and other than normal wear and tear and some outside surface scrapes, it is in great condition. Leather is VG but one small tear on outside driver's seat. Car is fully equipped with tow package, and I added a brake controller. New oversized tires. Pads are in EC. Vehicle is ready to go.

Not living up to the Toyota legend

This vehicle is not very user friendly. The dash and control layout take a lot to get used to. If it's a secondary vehicle you might feel like your driving a Rubik's cube. Limited head room combined with a passenger seat that doesn't adjust vertically, it leaves my head on the ceiling when I'm the passenger. Fuel economy is poor when you factor in the cost of premium gas.

Best Buy Ever

I bought my 4runner Limited 2wd certified vech, I have had this vech for six months, the more I drive it the more I like it. My Limited came with all the features, JBL sound system, Nav system, rear camera, driver and passenger air bags, sunroof, night time rear view mirror, compast, 17 inch rims, running (lit) boards. The ride is smooth and swift, runs on regular unleaded, gets 18mpg in the city and 24 on the hwy. I have put six thousands trouble free miles on this vech, maints is low change the oil and drive, I live in the land of Cars Los Angeles, You name it we drive it and still prefer my 4runner Limited because it fits in every where from Beverly Hills to beaches of Malibu.
