Used 2014 Subaru Forester Consumer Reviews
Love my car
There is little room for storage and hauling in the back end, That is my only complaint about my car, would recommend it to everyone wanting a smaller suv.

Depends what your looking for
I was excited and happy about the forester (2014). Great on fuel, at first. Simple interior. I really wanted a vehicle to get a places with a small gas price. The vehicle was great till after 75,000 miles. I now have about 105,000 miles on it(4/24/18). The guy is right about the foresters burning gas, I started having to keep quarts of oil in my vehicle in case the oil light came on. I would get an oil change, half way through the miles the light comes on, I've learned to add oil. So, recently my check engine light came on. It was P0420-catalytic converter efficiency below threshold (bank 1) or could be the Oxygen sensor. I went to the dealer got a tune up and asked about the check engine light. The person told me it was the catalytic converter and to replace it would be $1,700. That's a down payment on a new car. I am confident in myself and family members to help me replace the part but when I went to purchase the part I couldn't get the actual converter part, just the O2 sensor. Hopefully, that's all I need to do. SO! when I asked "how many more miles can I go on the converter now?" she responded with, "Idk, it depends" then I asked "how does this happen? is it common? how can I prevent this?" but no definite answer.

Love it!
I love this car! The ride is smooth, it handles beautifully, and I feel safe & secure! I do mostly city driving with a lot of stop and go and idling, so my combined mpg is relatively low. However, when I do drive on the highway, I get great gas mileage, in the very high 20s.

Another oil Burner
Doing my second oil consumption test this week. Down a quart after 3200 miles. I'm frustrated that Subaru finds it acceptable for a car to use a quart every 3600 miles. (1/3 qt every 1200 mi.) when the recommended oil change frequency is 7500 mi. And why do some foresters not use oil and others do? That is a quality control problem. Subaru has become way popular in the last several years and must have ramped up production. Maybe they need to funnel some extra resources into QC and not just spit out an inconsistent product.

Love me some Subaru
I love the way my Forester handles the road, I feel safe while driving it. I am short and at times struggle seeing over the steering wheel but I can see clearly from all angles when I am in my Forester. I can't wait to trade it in for a new model next year. My salesman was extremely helpful throughout the entire process and I felt I paid a fair price.
