2025 RAM 1500 Laramie Crew

Matt, 11/05/2024
2025 Ram 1500 Laramie 4dr Crew Cab 5.6 ft SB (3.0L 6cyl Turbo 8A)

My brand new (have owned it for 72 days now) RAM 1500 has now spent 32 days in the shop at the dealer. The engine light has come on eleven different times, codes including a three way cooling valve and cam position sensor. Dealer says all is good. The truck also had to be towed in one of the times because it would not start. Two days ago I received a notice for a recall related to the throttle body. The truck has less than 1000 miles on it. I do like the SST engine, the interior is the most comfortable and best looking compared to Ford GM and Toyota, in my opinion, however so far this brand new truck has been a nightmare.

My first truck, drove it off the lot with 57 miles on odometer, 12 hours later the check engine light was on. The light has come on six times now. Can shaft position sensor has been the only repeat code. Stellantis engineers recommended a software upgrade. It didn’t help, I see by other reviews that the cam shaft position sensor has been an issue for others. Other issues include passenger heated seat not working. Replaced relay switch, which didn’t help, so now they replaced the seat wiring. Also, 12 inch touchscreen was unresponsive and had to be replaced. The ride is great but the tech problems have me planning on pursuing the MN state lemon law and seek a refund. This was a very poor choice on my part.

I just picked up a 2025 1500 to replace an older Ram pickup. I got the new 3.0L Hurricane, Bighorn, 4x4, loaded up with the Level 2 package, night edition, a few other minor goodies and the air suspension. All I can say is this is the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. It is very quiet, smooth and comfortable on the road. The engine is quiet but powerful as you out your foot into it. This feels smoother and not as clunky as the Hemi 5.7 did. The old engine sort of wheezed its way forward, but the Hurricane just keeps pulling hard. The Alpine stereo rocks, the tech inside all works and is easy to use and learn. Wow, wow, wow. Update - I have 10,000 problem free miles now. I really enjoy driving around knowing that I can beat pretty much every truck I see. This this is incredibly fast. :)

New RAM owner after two Tundras

Had been a Tundra owner for 13 years. Traded my TRD Pro for a 2025 RAM 1500 Bighorn Blacktop package 4x4. This is the best riding truck I've ever been in! Regular 3.6L mild hybrid has plenty of power. I kept my last Tundra 10 years because I never found anything even close that was comparable and affordable. This package is loaded. Runs great, looks great, has tons of storage and the seats are really comfortable. I'm 6'6", so legroom is always an issue. The redesigned 2025 cab made it possible to get in comfortably and I can also get in the back seat with the crew cab with no problem. Getting 20-21 mpg with only 3500 miles on it so far. I looked at a Silverado, Titan, Sierra, Ridgeline, Tundra and Tacoma. This was by far the best of the bunch.

2025 Laramie Engine Light On Again!

I drove my 2025 Laramie 1500 off the lot with 17 miles on it. It has now been 3.5 months, and it has just under 2700 miles. It has been back to the dealership twice already for a check engine light issue. The first time they did a software update, and that cleared the codes for only about 2 weeks. So I brought it back in last week again, and they had it all day, only to tell me that it couldn't be fixed because they needed to order some parts - a relay switch related to the remote start(which doesn't work at all) and a new sensor for something else. It is very frustrating when you spend $70k on a brand new truck and it has to be in the shop, soon-to-be 3 times before you have had it for 4 months. No one ever covers or helps with the inconvenience of having to go to the dealership and be without your vehicle. NOT HAPPY!!

Lemon being bought back

I'd Rather Have Lemonade, 01/15/2025
2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4dr Crew Cab 4WD 5.6 ft SB (3.6L 6cyl gas/electric mild hybrid 8A)

Purchased brand new Oct 2024 with 19 miles and the check engine light first came on at 280 miles. Multiple cylinder misfiring, code P0300, has been on/off, steady at times for a few days and flashing at times, and randomly goes away since then. Many rounds of back and forth with staff at two dealerships telling me that Ram knows its defective since at least July 2024 but does not have a fix. I was told to keep driving and tough it out until they have a solution. Seeing everyone else with the same complaints, I opted to pursue buyback through my state's lemon law. I was awarded the buyback but Ram is dragging their feet. It's been over 3 months and I still don't have the check and they are not compensating me any extra for the delays. The truck is comfortable and rides nice, but the engine is defective, the display is buggy with the radio presets and camera displays, the bed was covered in rail dust on purchase and the steering wheel heater doesn't work, so I am really looking forward to getting rid of this hunk of junk. Note that my 2019 Ram Bighorn also had engine failures with the pentastar v6 rockers/camshafts. I was going to try a Ram with the V8 engine, but FCA dragging out the buyback process and not compensating me for the delay while also requiring me to continue making payments on the lemon and keep driving it even through it's unsafe and unreliable (since I can't afford something else until they give me my check) made me change my mind.

I recently leased 2025 Hurricane S.O Big Horn. 400 miles in and then engine light came on. I went online and found out these new 2025 models are plagued with CEL issue and no one has clue how to fix it. Here is the link https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/2025-ram-1500-bighorn-3-0-i-hurricane-twin-turbo-so-420hp-check-engine-light.60378/ Stellantis is quiet about this issue. Don't lease these new 2025 models until they have a fix.

Bought a new 2025 bighorn crewcab. Interior is nice, but quality is lacking. All door panels rattle, cheap sounding speakers. Had a check engine light on due to a misfire with the remote start. The worst thing for me, if you want the defrost on all by itself, you have to have the heat on high. You turn it down one notch and it blows out of the feet so they can cook at the same time. Why even have a setting for the defrost all by itself if it only does it on high heat? Dodge will not fix it.

Don't Buy: Horrible Response to Problems

3rd Ram Sad, 04/22/2025
2025 Ram 1500 Laramie 4dr Crew Cab 4WD 6.3 ft SB (3.0L 6cyl Turbo 8A)

I purchased a RAM 2025 1500 Laramie 4 x 4 in November 2024. While the in line 6-cylinder Hurricane engine delivers great power and the ride is very comfortable, the support from Stellantis to both my dealer service organization and myself is very slow, incomplete and unreasonable. My truck has spent more than 70 days at the local dealer shop with recurring parasitic drains. Parts replaced included main battery twice, auxiliary battery once, turbo water pump once, alternator and voltage sensor and now the WIN module. Post alternator and voltage sensor replacement, the truck sat for only 3.5 hours in which time it went from full voltage at the battery to 3.5 volts. The most recent WIN module replacement has an indeterminant lead time. Although we have escalated to Stellantis' Customer Experience Manager and received an extended warranty and some dollars as compensation, their involvement comes and goes and weeks go by with no response. There are many posts on the internet about electrical issues; this is real. My local dealer escalates concerns to the STAR technical support group; again replies are very slow and in some cases borderline ridiculous. One such response when the dealer service department could not replicate the problem was that the problem with electrical drain was in the garage environment I store the 1500 in. The causes cited are present in every modern garage in America, and do not affect a late model car I store next to the 1500. Another item to be aware of is that the coil springs in the bed, although providing a smooth ride, need airbags whether from the factory or after-market to support a tongue weight as advertised and additional items one would put in the bed. I am not sure if the same issues with Stellantis' support are equal to other manufacturers as this is my 3rd RAM; 1st 2 were a 1500 gas and a 3500 diesel both of which performed very well. But if you buy a RAM and have problems be prepared; you will spend a lot of time and energy resolving them.

The check engine light came on for the 3rd time with only 7500 miles on truck. Auto parts diagnostic says it's giving a code saying it's missing on at least one of 6 cylinders. I bought a new vehicle so I would have a dependable vehicle! So disappointed so far with this truck

2025 Ram 1500 3.0L

Traded in my 2021 Ram 5.7 Hemi for the new 3.0 - worst vehicle purchase of my life. First there is the Uconnect infotainment system that has a multitude of glitches and issues that are now all over the Ram forums and Uconnect nor the dealerships have any fixes for them presently. We are all stuck in a wait and hope period that this will get resolved. Then there's the new drive train - higher performance on the dyno and allegedly more efficient. The best fuel mileage I have recorded thus far is 16.5mpg and I live in the country, overall much less than my hemi. That's only made worse when towing...down to only 8mpg towing my boat. Overall towing performance feel reduced as well, particularly when it comes to starting/reversing. Doesn't have the confidence to get you going through an intersection. When backing a trailer into the driveway, it's a delicate balance. You really have to let the rpms wind up to spool the turbos to make small adjustments, but not too far to risk over running your mark. The hemi just went and never complained. Finally, when I tried to get out of this new truck, I was informed that they're now selling for significantly less than I paid for mine based on a move from the new Ram CEO to reduce costs, so depreciation on it is even higher than the typical you'd expect driving a new vehicle off of the lot. I am now effectively stuck with a vehicle I resent, will never buy another Ram product after this experience.

New 2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn NightAddition,171miles & 2 weeks & in the shop it went.Dash went completely dark, guess that,s why they call it the Night Edition.No.parts available. Advised 2 to 3 week wait on parts. After 3 weeks passed add another 2 weeks, maybe. Being held hostage for parts. Stellantis has totally screwed up a good,& has jerked their parts suppliers around. I see a Lemon on the horizon. Not the only one with electrical issues. Have driven Rams for the past 10 years, not looking good for the future.

I just bought a 2025 Ram 1500 eTorque truck. I replaced a 2021 Ram 1500 Hemi etorque. Love the truck but only 800 miles into driving it the check engine light came on. Nothing out of the ordinary is happening but went back to the dealership and they couldn't find anything so they cleared the code. I was told if the CEL returned just bring it back for a deep dive from the service department. A week passes and the CEL comes back on and I schedule the appointment and they kept it all day. Still found no issues and they cleared the code. Less than 7 days go by and the CEL is back on. Not sure what is wrong with the 2025 but I'm hoping Ram can figure it out.

The biggest disappointed of my life was getting a Ram. I took me a while to decide which of the American brand to was going to proudly own, to only find out they only care about selling and not a crap about customer care of vehicle maintenance. After I trade my 2021 Civic Hatch back, I was okay with the Ram I got not happy because it wasn’t the model I wanted to but well still was a nice truck. My credit wasn’t the best but also not the worse. After only a couple of months the truck start to make an unfamiliar uncomfortable noise on the front wheel of the passenger side or at least is where I hear it coming from. Yes, STILL hearing it since it’s been past 6 month at reporting this issue plus the side mirrors stopped dimming and the left blinker clicker or stick (don’t know the right name). Well, I bought the truck at the Greensboro Ram dealership in North Carolina 3710 W Wendover Ave, Greensboro NC 27407. Many many attempts in person, online (through the APP and over the Phone were made. Still today’s day no assistance at all. They do not have a loner, rental car to give you because in order to get your car fix you have to leave it several days there because they are behind on the mechanical, maintainer area which makes you think Why... Always same answer there is a waiting list for rental. Ok fine just tell me when I can bring the truck over that’s all, oh they have nit idea when they’ll have rental for you that’s all they said. You people need to realized that we have to work to make money to pay for the damage expensive car you sold us. No concern at all about my safety, after again, even in person I have expressed being uncomfortable and feeling unsafe by that noise. I tried and tried, no help they “managers do not return the calls. I moved to a different state being afraid of an accident while on the road. I did go back a couple of days before moving and no luck. Thank go nothing happen on the road otherwise the lawsuit it would have been huge. I still think of suing for false advertising. They blah blah everywhere about being number one American brand and care about you. Lies all lies. On top of all this Stellantis my lean holder who is also Ram owner or patterners whatever. Also, awful they wouldn’t understand rough financials. Yes, I’m struggling to make the payments extremely high due all the fees and interested from both parties the awful dealership and Stellantis. I have tried to trade my truck but it is shameful how national vehicles lose so much value, I mean where the word Pride fit in all this when you making and sell at very high price to people in this country who works hard and to only find out now only worth less than a Toyota corolla or a Kia small sedan car, foreign cars. Again “Pride” Sure.

Been to the dealership twice fore a Check Engine Light that Ram Engineering is trying to come up with a fix for. They have had it on two occasions for a total of 13 Business Days, and are waiting for some kind of software fix to get rid of multiple cylinder misfires… It really would be a phenomenal truck if not for this Serious Issue. The worst part is that this motor has been around in the Grand Wagoneer for a couple of years, and doesn’t appear to have had the same problem…

I had a 2024 ram that had a problem so I ordered the 2025 and the hemi engine that put RAM on the market is no longer available now we have this garbage [non-permissible content removed] engine that doesn’t do anything until the turbines kick in this high compression motor with about 800 pounds that I carry in the back on a daily basis is gonna have a heart attack real quick real soon for having all that supposed power. I can’t even cut a car off to pass it on the freeway. This truck is beyond beautiful beyond comfortable, but the engine is garbage after being my fifth ram truck. I wanna drive this truck into the wall, but I’m afraid it won’t go fast enough to cause enough damage to total it out.

Mostly mechanically sound so far. Smooth, quiet ride and efficiency better than advertised on daily, mostly rural 26 mile commute. Hauling light loads (<500lbs) without noticing. Won’t test towing for another few months. Startup idle at 1500 for about a full minute, which seems long. Interior electronics are glitchy- had troubles with random security alarm spurious trip 2x, cruise control not working, wireless charging pad not working and convenience lighting not turning off. Issues fixed by dealer after 1 week of driving.

I purchased a new Black Tungsten a week ago. This is my first Ram. I can’t say anything related to reliability because I have 400 miles but this is by far the nicest truck I have ever owned. The interior is leaps and bounds better than all my previous trucks. I have owned all the brands now with this purchase. I replaced a 3rd gen 2024 Tundra with this truck. The Ram is more comfortable, quieter, smoother, and overall it’s in a different league than the Toyota. Although years have past, I have had multiple F150 platinums and GMC denials. The Ram is the best as far as interior and amenities. There are just a few minor fit and finish issues on the exterior but most would not notice. Love the multifunction tailgate, the ram boxes and the in floor storage. The truck doesn’t have the highest payload or tow capacity but will do everything that I need a truck for. It’s going to be a great road trip vehicle. The autonomous driving works great and the mpg thus far is around 19mpg. I was worried about the rotary knob but I actually love the placement. Put in drive or reverse and hit the auto start stop button which deactivates the system. It’s just part of the drive away process now and the button is right there. The console is so functional and is well thought out.

I am really liking with the looks of my 2025 1500 Long horn. I was totally disappointed with the 2025 longhorn , no Sirius channel, no heated seats, really my 2022 ram the cheapest model the warlock had sirius! I was totally disappointed my 2025 didn't have it.which is totally hard to believe! Upgrade!!! Also I had pickup 5 days and my check engine light came on!!! Really it's 2025 longhorn!!! While they were checking my check engine light I needed a loaner same pickup same price had the sirus and heated seats etc!!! So what difference? Have turbo motor also! Love Ram trucks why is this happening??? Made owner of Rams upset!!!

Love my new RAM's appearance, tech and comfort. All the tech is easy to use, while the overall outside appearance is awesome. I have the sport appearance package and it adds much to the truck. I also really like the inside comfort of the truck, seats are comfortable and warming and cooling options are both great. I am really impressed with the overall driving performance of the truck, the twin turbo's give the truck more than enough acceleration when you need it. I am disappointed in the MPG so far. I have 5,000 miles on the truck and rarely get over 15 MPG in the city and local driving, get about 20 MPG on longer trips. Hopefully this will improve as the truck breaks in.

We've only had this truck for 3 days but so far I love it!!! Some of the features are useless or dumb, in my opinion. But overall this is a great truck! My 3 kids have plenty of leg room in the crew cab and have plenty of room for growing. Easy to drive and maneuver.

This will be my 3rd Ram. I recently Traded my 2020 Ram 1500 Bighorn for the 2025 Laramie. I’ve had a Toyota and GMC truck in the past and frankly I find that the Ram handles and rides nicer than some of the cars I’ve owned in the past. I wasn’t planning on trading up to my 2025 Laramie, but the incentives offered along with the generous trade concession from my dealer made it a no brainer. Before test driving the new 3.0 Turbo charged inline 6, I was a bit skeptical. My 5.7 Hemi was pretty much bullet proof aside from a cracked exhaust manifold at 18k (replaced under warranty). Once behind the wheel though, I found the Hurricane was smooooooth, powerful and I must say impressive. Sure, it doesn’t sound like a big V8, but that matters not to me. As for the Laramie trim, what an upgrade from my Bighorn. The leather seats are super comfortable, heated and cooled, the infotainment center is great and the passengers side screen lets my copilot (aka my better half) handle the direction and radio controls while I focus on the road. The dual pane panoramic sunroof is wonderful and much moreIi’ve yet to discover about this truck. So far as a new owner, I’m extremely pleased with this truck! If I was was to have any gripes about the truck it would be little misses such as the stock factory floor mats are the cheapest garbage Ive ever seen for a high end truck. Additionally, the side view mirror covers are cheap chromed out plastic that will clearly scratch easily. Also, they have a built in flip down storage gate under the rear seats that frankly is crap. I had a tuff-box storage organizer in my 2020 that makes the one in my truck a joke. This is nit-picky stuff though and certainly forgivable considering the substantial discount I was able to purchase the truck for. Now it’s time to find out what the next 100k brings!

So, I bought my 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel in January of 2025 and man, I do love it. It’s got 5,600 miles on it and it is the smoothest riding vehicle I’ve ever owned and it’s a blast to drive. I’ve read a lot of negative reviews and man, I feel bad for those with a struggling ‘25. I’m lovin’ mine, though.

I’ve had nothing but problems with the truck. Truck has driven extremely rough with lots of cabin vibration and it is LOUD inside. I was told the tires could have flat spots and the build quality was poor. Worse yet the truck suddenly stopped on its own at 75mph on the freeway with all kinds of red alerts on the dash. Very scary and it has occurred more than once so there is clearly an underlying issue. Pretty unhappy overall. Stellantis has not responded to my open BBB complaint and their customer care team provided no help in response to opening a ticket. I’m now spending time contacting an attorney to return the vehicle under the lemon law. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
