Love my Titan - Edmunds not so much

Wow - The guy who wrote this review must be suicidal….lol. What an awful, untruthful, and one side review. Is this guy a political commentator? I love my Titan - Why do I need ten engine, axle, transmission choices? You buy the truck with one choice right? You don’t drive the V6 on Monday then choose the V8 on Friday. The warranty is average…lol. The warranty is bumper to bumper 100k - Is that average? I would say like anything in life go experience things for yourself and don’t listen to the guy that never leaves his parents basement. Honestly I have owned the other trucks and really enjoy my Pro4x. It does what a truck should do and is very comfortable.

2023 Titan Pro 4x

I test drove Rams, Silverado’s and F 150s. The Nissan is a great truck for a great price that simply outdoes all of these trucks. I had a 2018 pro 4x, that was bullet proof. That is why I got another. Interior materials especially the leather look great! Seats and visibility are excellent. Gas mileage is on par with the others. Ride quality is excellent. I think this truck is definitely under rated and should be considered by all before you make a purchase decision. Great warranty also helps in deciding factor. Truck stands out from the rest in it’s stying. You do not see one on every corner!

Best overall truck in production

The Titan is what a modern truck should be. There’s plenty of performance (not sure where the 7.5 seconds comes from I get 6s all day), the tech is fantastic but not overly zealous with extremely large displays overcompensating for lack of other features, it’s extremely comfortable and very little road noise (I’ve driven 14 hour drives with no aches or issues), and most importantly it still feels like a conventional truck where many fail at that as they try to appear more futuristic sacrificing many of the beloved aspects of what made us love having a truck.

Responsive and comfortable

Having owned a 2020 Expedition Max Limited, and driven a Ram 1500 Longhorn, both with 6-cylinder engines and turbo, my Titan is much more responsive. Power is good, and doesn't lag like the Ram and the Expedition did. Also, this truck rides much better than the Ram did. I opted for the Pro-4x. To those complaining about the mileage: This was stated on the label before you bought it, and you still bought it. It's a truck with a big v8. Mileage will not be great. It is very comfortable. Nissan's Zero-Gravity seats shine. They are MUCH more comfortable than the Expedition's and Ram's seats. Also, it has plenty of safety features that you usually have to pay more for in other brands. My $88k Expedition Max Limited did not have the surround-view camera, and also did not have genuine leather and panoramic sunroof. The same goes for the Ram. Also, neither had the LED headlights standard as the Titan did - that would have cost more. It's a great value for us, and it comes with a 5-year 100K mile bumper to bumper manufacturer warranty. This was MUCH better than the other two vehicles mentioned here.

The best new old truck

While others like Toyota Tundra have ventured into unproven new technologies (search twin turbo problems), the 2023 Nissan Titan has stuck with the reliable V8. Of course, there are always arguments for and against both. But I prefer to let others go first with “progress”. Pioneers get slaughtered and settlers prosper. Yes, fortune favors the bold…but this is a truck we are talking about, not a stock. I’ve been more than impressed with my 2023 Titan. And I didn’t have to pay the 10+% premium (plus tax). It’s a great all-around truck and a great value. 99% never approach the limitations anyway. Give it a test drive. It will make you question your current brand loyalty.

Proven Performer

My decision in March 2024, to switch from a 2018 Tundra to a 2024 Titan is based on the Titan's proven V8 engine and established drive train. My lifestyle is towing an Airstream trailer across the USA a few times a year, and regularly exploring rural Wyoming and Montana on gravel roads. My 2018 Tundra will retire to become my main utility vehicle (it has been a flawless performer for 125,000 miles). Frankly, in March 2024, I could not find a better half-ton pickup on the market today with the Nissan Titan's overall features, benefits, and customer satisfaction ratings - for my needs. Cleary, the 2024 Titan is the last of the era of solid, big-block gas engine pick-up trucks offered by Japanese engineers. Regardless of national origin, long live the gasoline V8 engine! And the Saturn 5 lunar rocket! The two supreme engineering achievements of the 20th century.

This is my first 2023 Nissan Titan SV Mid Night Edition truck and I have to say, I’m sorry i waited this long to own one. This truck is definitely getting the short end of the stick when compared too the big three. I think for the money especially along with the 100K 5yr warranty that in it self beats any of the so call big 3. I’ve own a 2015 Ford F150 XLT 2.7 eco boost and I thought that was a great truck but with that I had problems with it and as far as advanced technology in that truck I would have had to get the top of the line next trim level. With this truck it comes with upgraded technology that you would have had to pay very dearly, if you went with the other big 3. As far as I can say about styling, when I bought my truck to work I got all kinds of compliments and most came from people that owned other trucks from the big 3. I think the Nissan Titan isn’t getting the recognition it deserves but if people want to sleep on a good value with a powerful V8 that at top speed outruns the competition let them sleep on. After 10 months truck is still running and looking good as it did when I bought it. Still getting compliments. Here it is about 2months from being 2yrs old and it’s still running just like when I bought it. I put a 3 inch lift kit on it and some new rims and tires. Along with a roll cover and OEM fog lights. Also I’ve changed out my emblems for all black and blacked out the taillights. I guess this will be my forever truck.

why this Nissan Titan has a lot criticism that it contains many hard plastic parts, I see that F150 ,GM and Ram 1500 contain a lot hard plastic too and price are very expensive the middle class cannot afford a truck from the big three , I just bought a Titan platinum reserve 2023 , I was able to buy it for the price of a basic truck from Ford or GM just do you homework find a Nissan dealer who wants to work with you and look for all discounts ,rebates now is a good time to buy 2023 ends soon ! .... my final comment is that the Titan is just another pickup truck that will do the same performance and work done

I had to post a review when I read the negative underwhelming warranty comments by Edmonds. It has a 5 year 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, which is the best in class. I have a 2023 Pro4X. I love the way it drives and rides. The locking rear makes it much better in snowy conditions while in 2WD than the 2019 RAM I had. Power is on par with the 5.7 HEMI. I haven’t towed with it yet. Interior space is smaller than the RAM, but I like some of the features better. Negatives so far: Fuel economy sucks and premium is recommended. I get 14 MPG around town and 17 on the interstate. The trim around the interior door handles already has two minor chips after a month of owning.

A reliable beast

Sometimes old school is best. As techy (glitchy) electric gadgetry, weak transmissions and crap build quality has killed the "big three", and tundra prices keep it out of reach of regular folks, the Titan is just a solid performer. Nissan has kept the old box frame - a design that saved us in a head-on ( nil cabin deformation while the engine compartment was anihilated- giving this tank a firm, confident feel while towing. The transmission likewise has the robustness to withsyand abusive and agressive towing ( men...) while our (crew) remained almost car like in ambient noise and ride. While some reviews implied the Titan lacked style, our SL trim crew cab always turned heads. In a sea of 'Found On a Russian Dump's, Rams, Sierras, and tappity bowties, the Titan has Tank-ish swagger to it. And that crew cab was capacious enough to use as a class B camper! Naw, say what you want, but now that we need a new full size, I looking for another Titan.

The "experts" dog this truck due to a V8 being the only available option. If a V8 is what you need this is your truck. Laden with all of the latest tech it's really sad that Nissan has discontinued the Titan for 2025.

Great Truck - Much Better Than Edmunds Review

Old Rocker Dude, 02/10/2025
2023 Nissan Titan SV 4dr Crew Cab 4WD SB (5.6L 8cyl 9A)
1 of 1 people found this review helpful

I recently bought my used 2023 Titan SV Midnight. I almost backed out of buyinh it because of negative reviews about everything from fuel mileage to handling to tech. I can tell you - I love this truck. And the negative review are for the most part total B.S. 1. Fuel mileage - I'm getting well over 20 mpg combined city and freeway - and the Titan does it without stuttering "turning off" cylinders like the Dodge Ram and without the annoying and totally worthless stopping of the engine at every stop light. 2. "Heavy steering, clumsy handling, really feel the weight comments" Who are writing these reviews? Girly men? Women? I think the steering and handling feel about right. Personally, I don't like a steering wheel that is too easy to turn. The Titan handles great for a full size truck. 3. "Have to really stand on brakes" - Again, did an 18 year old girl do the test drive? The brakes feel good. I DO NOT like grabby brakes like Chevys that stand you on your head when you barely touch them. 4. Tech - It's got everything I need - and most of all - it all actually works 5. Towing - Big three are rated higher in towing capacity - it's a rating - it doesn't mean they can handle it. Most people I know would agree Dodge towing capacity is over-rated. And if you DO tow at max rating repeatedly, you'll be buying a transmission. I long swore off Mopars because of their transmissions - two times they have left me on the side of the road. I really appreciate the Titan has two trailer connectors built in, a flat 5 pin and a round connector, and that the Titan has a factory installed trailer brake controller. 6. Cheap plastic interior - really? You think the big three are any better? I've owned almost every brand of truck - Chevy Silverado, Dodge Dakota, Chevy Silverado Z71, Dodge Ram, Ford F-150 Lariat, Nissan Frontier, and now, my 2023 Nissan Titan. The interior in my Titan is as nicer or nicer than any of the trucks I've owned. And I doubt it will be creaking, squeaking and rattling at 60K miles like a Chevy or Dodge. Ignore the negative reviews and get a great deal on a Titan. You'll save money and have a great truck

Plus: First drive ever: It honestly felt "familiar", strong, confident, not heavy...kind of nimble! Yet, very mature. No gimmicky gadgets to start/stop (while pretending to improve economy). Robust power, smooth highway rides, comfortable, great visibility. Enjoyably and surprisingly intuitive cockpit controls. WOW. Minus...The chairs are good, but the passenger seat needs to be equal to the driver - ouch. Not really a minus, but the brakes seem softer than I expected, if not then they could be a little tighter but maybe that's me, migrating from Jeep. Rear doors don't open 90, meh, who cares...plenty of room to load in 3 ugly fat kids and a collie! Nissan did not manage to impress enough because so far as my judgement is concerned, this truck is really impressive out of the gate and time will tell with mileage.

Great Truck with a V8

BelAir Car Guy, 07/20/2024

Just purchased a 2024 Titan Pro4X. Traded my 2012 Toyota Tundra, which was a great truck but lacked many of the latest safety features and other updates. The Titan is excellent and has a throaty V8 roar, even better than my Tundra. Has all the latest safety features, and an excellent infotainment system. Beautiful black leather seats with red stitching, heated and cooled front seats and heated rear seats. Great panoramic sunroof also. What do I not like? Well, nothing really. Truck has the great Nissan zero gravity seats, which are the same as in my 2022 Altima and were also in my 2018 Altima. I can drive for 3-4 hours without a stop to stretch my back and legs due to fatigue. Wonderful seats and ride. Also, my Titan does not have start/stop feature, which is a complete pain, as I have experienced that feature on a number of rental cars I have used over several years. To top it off, Nissan has a five year / 100,000 mile full bumper to bumper warranty. Probably won't need to even use the warranty, as the Titan has an excellent reliability record, just as good as the Toyota Tundra (2007 - 2021). Also currently my dealer offered about $11,000 off sticker and I also got 0% financing from Nissan. What not to like? Buy a Titan, and you won't be disappointed.

I'm lost for words when I read the experts review and really don't understand what am I missing. They are so negative about the titan when 2024 that I purchased was the most comfortable vehicles that I've ever driven. I had chevys, 2 fordf150's (2017xlt, 19 lariat) and these pickups to me doesn't compare with the smoothness, comfortably, performance that the nissan that I now own. It handles very well, the powerful v8 engine which other owners that I know have no issues with while the chevy I once owned had weak transmissions, the 2 ford's I owned were 3.5 ecoboost engines had cold start rattling even with low mileage so ford owners beware. So readers don't listen to the experts reviews, but please read only the owners reviews then you will experience for your what a great truck is really like and test drive the titan for your self. No the gas mileage is not Great, but not Bad and at least with the titan you have to make shop appointments for certain issues. I really love my 2024 titan!!!

20,000 miles, not one single issue. Seems one of the big manufacturers is having issues with their V8 engines. Another one that I am quite fond of introduced a new inline 6 and no other option for their 1/2 ton trucks, reliability yet to be proven. I actually drove one of the 3.0 Rebels today. Decent low end and torque, but no rumble at all. For sure not impressive enough to talk me out of my Titan. I'm not brand loyal at all, I own a 1997 Mercury Tracer, a 2005 Pontiac Vibe, a 2008 F150 Fx4 and a 2023 Titan. I'll be hanging to the Titan.

The Titan comes with 1 engine, and 1 engine only. They don’t waste their time/resources on 3-4 engines, V6 Ecoboosts, or other V6 engines that there gas mileage plummets the second you put anything in the bed. I bought a 2021 Pro 4x with 51k miles on it. Price was $32k. A 2021 Ford Raptor with 54k miles and the 3.5 liter V6 engine was selling for $69k at the exact same time - why. Yes, if you’re towing a house an F150 or Silverado might be better (but only with their V8 engines) but if you need something that can tow a lot… just get a 3/4 ton pickup. I’m honestly impressed driving this truck on a daily basis and using it when I need to do “truck” things. Don’t be scared away because it isn’t one of the common truck brands. Every brand has its issues so it’s not like they’re perfect either. If you find a good deal on a Titan… go for it

Way higher owner satisfaction rating. Way higher reliability. No start-stop or cyl. Deactivation bs. More American made. Cheaper to buy/ own. I've bought 2 new titans, about to be three, since they're going away I got to gets me a fresh one. You can have your big three, I've owned them all. Buy a Titan and just gas and go- no problems. Great trucks, built by Americans.

I just bought the 2024 Titan SV King cab from a great dealer in St Louis MO. The warranty on the Titan is incredible. 5year / 100,000 Miles. That beats the pants off any other brand. So a bought out review of the Titan. I have owned Ford and GMC. The Titan Reminds me of a Fords style in and out. The swoop in the door below the side view mirror. The rather square look but with slightly rounded corners. Secondly the power plant is a 5.6L / V8. The power is there folks. Bigger than the Ford and tthe GMC. Comparable to the 5.7L / V8 by Dodge. The Titan snaps you back in the seat folks. I've been loving the power of the Titan. Lastly if your concerned about a mile or two of gas rating you better go buy a Nissan Leaf. I like the phone holder where it is. I love the idea and how the cord can get tucked under the holder and comes up though a small slot and into your phone. Well thought out. They are just jealous that Ford and GMC don't have one. Over all I've had the truck a few weeks and love it.

so far have put about 1200 miles on it and it has been a real pleasure to drive on slick snowy roads almost everyday, more than enough power, great seats ,easy to get in and out of,very quiet only down side is the milege but after all it is a very powerful V-8 . Fit and finish is perfect, tires have very good traction on ice and snow and its very easy to haul the grand kids in their car seats.

Best truck on the market!

So, I'll start off by saying that I researched and followed the truck market since right around 2020 and after nearly FOUR years of doing so, I decided on the Titan. Why? Well, it's rather simple.... I'll never own a Chrysler product(Ram) because I've been into cars since I was a kid and Chrysler is well known JUNK. Simple as that! Ford and GM co-developed the awful 10 speed transmission that you'll find in most of their trucks and it doesn't take much research to confirm it's junk by owner reviews. Chevy/GMC can't get their AFM engines right and have lifter issues typically before 40k miles.... So that leaves the Tundra. And no, I'm not talking about the newer twin turbo Tundra that's blowing engines left and right, leaving Toyota with a BIG problem to sort and loads of upset owners lol. I'm talking about the V8 Tundra that, at this point, is now a legendary truck for its reliability. HOWEVER, it's not perfect and as per owner reviews, it absolutely GUZZLES gas. Like 8-12 mpg guzzles gas. Plus the interior and tech are pretty outdated... So, enter the TITAN! The ONLY old school yet modern truck left on the market! A classic AMAZING sounding 400hp V8 with ZERO AFM garbage and ZERO auto stop/start garbage! A column shifter(hello old school)! Absolutely INCREDIBLE zero-gravity seats! A locking diff! 4WD! ANALOG knobs and physical buttons for everything! And just the right amount of safety tech to help you navigate this beast in tight spaces like a parking structure you'd swear was made only for Smart cars! Oh, and as a Metalhead, I can't forget to mention the freaking AWESOME Fender sound system! It ROCKS!! Besides all that stuff, the truck honestly rides very well even with the Bilstein shocks on my Pro4X model and for a truck it handles superbly and the hydraulic steering is nicely weighted so you know you're driving a nimble beast! The Titan seriously checks all the boxes you'd want in a TRUCK! I've put nearly 10k miles on my 2024 and I've enjoyed all of them. Including a 1,200+ miles trip my family and I took from WI to OH and back that the Titan handled beautifully! I averaged about 19 mpg on that trip! And the absolute best parts about a Titan?? Because Nissan was stupid and gave this GREAT truck zero marketing, they sold horribly, but that means that this GREAT truck can be had for THOUSANDS less than it's competitors! Like $8-12k off MSRP! PLUS 0% financing if you can still find a 2024 new! And... a 5 year - 100,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty! Best in class! So, you may be wondering why not 5 stars? Well, because I do have two nitpicks and I'm picky.... First, the lamination on the infotainment screen is absolutely terrible and fades extremely fast. Like within a year or two fast! Which is just unacceptable! My 2021 had this issue and when I got my 2024 due to incentives, I immediately put a screen protector on it! And second, the seatbelts in the Titan tend to bunch up right after use and they rub against the seats and sometimes clank on the pillars and it can very annoying especially over rough roads if you don't have any music on... Honestly, in the grand scope, both issues are minor and fixable, but worth mentioning. BUY this truck before they're gone off lots because I can assure you within a few years they will be! It is the BEST truck on the market and it isn't close!

Absolutely love this truck. It's a trucks truck, engine sounds so incredible, very comfortable. It isn't flashy like the Ram perhaps but it's a classic truck in all the best ways. Smooth engine, strong power. Happy with my purchase.

Looks good, but just okay otherwise.

Looks good. Handling is okay but steering feels a little heavy. I really dislike that the gear selector is on the steering column. The infotainment display screen is also small compared to others. Overall, it just seems to lack the technology and features of other similar trucks. The V-8 engine is nice, but the gas mileage is horrible.
