Had to have SUV
I spent 3mo's researching cars and then wrecked my 03 Santa Fe about a week ago. Had to have SUV for AWD in winter. Considered Mit.Outlander, Sub.Forester and Rogue. Decided on Rogue for drive and features. Drove 200mi to pick up. Avg mpg on trip home was 26 on brand new motor!! A little disappointed in ride. Not as smooth as remembered in test drive, but it's okay. Got premium and tech pkg so have Bose, Bluetooth, XM, premium seats. Would have liked leather, but couldn't get all pkg'd with the color I wanted. (Gotham Grey) Would like more storage in front. Glovebox is huge, but not a lot of space for small things. I haven't had long enough to know for sure, but so far I really like it.
Loves It
After graduating from college and getting my first "real" job I decided it was time to upgrade my car. I've always wanted a Murano but couldn't see spending that kind of money. I saw a commercial for the Rogue and went to check it out. Fell in love right away. It's the perfect solution to not being able to afford the Murano. I love driving it! It's a great size and easy to park which is important for me b/c I park in small parking garages in Chicago. It drives so smooth and I love that you don't feel the engine shifting (or whatever). My gas mileage isn't great.. mixed hwy/city I've had 18 mpg, but I've only filled up twice. I'm keeping an eye on it.

One satisfied customer
Up to now I've driven 850 miles and car performed exceptionally well. No even small problems at all. It's fun to drive. CVT, when you are used to it, provides very smooth and comfortable ride, especially at traffic jams, and "stop and go". Brakes are excellent. Seats are comfortable, dash is elegant looking, especially at night. My Rogue is stripped down SL AWD version, so I can't say much about performance package, Bluetooth etc. The fuel economy was one of the selling points for me, and I'm having about 28.5 mpg with 70/30 mix. Considering that car still is braking in, that mileage is very good. Talking about reliability, there is no issues at all yet. Everything looks like build to last
Good Value
Owned for 1 month, 5700 miles and have have noticed only 1 easy to remedy problem... major blind spot on each side that I fixed with a $3 conical mirror. Otherwise my mpg has averaged over 27, ride is quite and very similar to my 350Z and wife's Altima. Nissan's aren't the smoothest ride but very comparable to Honda and Toyota and the Nissan 4 cylinder on cruise does maintain highway speeds and climbing hills much better.
2008 Nissan Rogue SL AWD
This car is truly a value. We looked at Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and the Rogue. We liked the Rogue the best... very functional, drives great, quick acceleration and it looks great! We are very happy with our choice!
Great car!
Searched and checked out all the small SUVs and found the rogue to have the best combination of comfort, options, quality and price. Compared it to the Honda CRV and Toyota RAV4, test drove those and then finally the drove the Rogue--hands down the better driving experience, sometimes I forget that I am in an SUV and not a car!
Lots of style
Had considered a CR-V, and even a Vibe, but the styling (and the gas mileage) really caught my eye. This is a fun vehicle to drive. It maneuvers easily and has lots of pep. We took it on an 1,800 road trip and there was plenty of power for passing at highway speeds. The CVT works smoothly. So far, mileage has been good; 25 combined and near 30 on the road trip.
Faithful Nissan Owner
I love it. It's the perfect car for the city goer by week, adventurer by weekend. Great mileage, easy to move in and out of lanes in NYC, super smooth ride, etc. I couldn't ask for anything more!
Excellent choice.
This car is nice, comfortable, run smart and very smooth. The fuel economy is also very competitive. My wife is so happy and loves it. Wise choice!
Good value & options for the money!
We average 24-25 MPG in mostly city driving, 26-27 on the interstate at approx 73 MPH!! Excellent! We test drove the RAV4 and CRV for comparison. The Rogue rides and drives better. The seats are more comfortable and the ride not as still as the others.
terrible
i have been having this car for a year and a half. So far i have replaced the transmission the sun roof and now the radiator. they told me that besides the transmission this is normal wear and tear and that i am over reacting!! i have news for them ! No car not even 2 years old should be giving any trouble much less the transmission ! I will never buy a nissan again !
Best for the Price
I bought my 08 Rogue in Sep 2008. After 1 1/2 yrs still I love the performance of my SL AWD. In this years worst winter in Philly my Rogue was running smooth without any traction problems. Never got stuck in ice. Never felt like driving in Ice. Fuel economy is incredible while driving long routes.I have been getting 27 hwy and around 23 in city. Plenty of room and comfortable seating providing a great ride on long trips. Also a great design giving a real sporty look . Over all Nissan Rogue is the " Best car for less price".
Whistling Windows
For 2 1/2 years now we have been trying to get the problem with the whistling windows resolved. I realize it takes someone to drive the car to hear it but that is their job. We have located the noise and have told them time and time again but it never gets resolved. We continue to have to listen to this annoying noise every time we go 60+ mph which is every day. My husband who drives the car to work is fed up with the inadequacy of getting this fixed and so am I since I am the one usually inconvenienced by the time it is left in the shop. I just don't get it in this economy that they don't want to take care of their existing customers. Especially since we bought a 2008 Altima Hybrid also.
I'm Trading in My Rogue
My main issue with the Rogue is the poor visibility. I am also frustrated that I am unable to tow a 1500 T@B camper comfortably, despite the fact that I purchased the SL with all the extra Towing features, giving it a rating up to 3000 pounds. Oddly, when I roll down the back window without rolling down the front window, a strange vibration occurs. The seats show every stain and are uncomfortable. The voice recognition on the Bluetooth has never worked right. I loathe the little joy stick for adjusting the mirrors. When I purchased this car, I loved it. Then I noticed one little thing after another. I'm trading it in.
Poor Seats and Bad Gas Mileage
I bought my 2008 FWD Rogue a week ago. I am so disappointed. I commute 60 miles round trip via Interstate to work, so little of my mileage is in town. I am lucky to get 23 mpg. I don't drive super fast, usually anywhere between 60 and top out at 80 on rare occasions. I see reviews on here of people getting fantastic gas mileage. I don't understand why mine is so poor! Any ideas? My gas costs have gone up $100/month (projected) and I had not planned for that kind of an increase! The seats for me are very uncomfortable. My upper back has no support. The upper part of the seat leans back too far for me and I find myself in pain. Terrible time seeing out the back - dangerous to back up!
Love My Nissan Rogue
I bought my Rogue in November and have loved it ever since. I get about 24MPG on the road, and up to 30MPG highway. People stop and ask me about my car, they say it looks like a little Murano, or Lexus RX. I'm having a great time driving my rogue around town, to the mountains, beach, everywhere!
Piece of non USA junk
Terrible design Nissan, my step sons vehicle, real dad bought it for him, cheap, piece of crap, both him and the vehicle, 135,000 miles paid $7000 for it, a little over a year and subframe bushings on front end bad, can't fix because Nissan parts everywhere don't sell bushings separate from subframe so have to replace the entire subframe for the price of, wait for it, $1200!!!! That doesn't include labor! What a stupid idea! Good luck if you buy this junk vehicle!
