Used 2004 Nissan Maxima 3.5 SL 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 4A) Consumer Reviews
GOOD CAR HAS BEEN BUILT VERY CHEAPLY
Nice, solid car killed by cheap tricks in attemps to keep costs down. Next time will get Acura 3.2TL or like For this sticker price VDC ( taking on account horrible steer tork) MUST BE standard - hey, NISSAN - if you screwed something up - be honest - PAY FOR IT! Cheapest insterior materials I've ever seen for this price! Suggested Improvements "SKYVIEW" made only to force pay more for "regular" sunroof - cheap trick Options - they put together to make you pay for the stuff you don't want! Warranty period - comeon guys - you (NISSAn) don't trust your car?
Super car for the money
I have compared this veh with the Lincoln LS and the car a every bit as quiet and smooth for about $10,000 less money. Also the car has more features.
- SLMSRP: $3,991193 mi away
- 3.5 SE SedanMSRP: $14,500195 mi away
- 3.5 SE SedanMSRP: $2,999537 mi away
Not Up to Par
This car is not up to par for the cost. New was well over $30,000. I have had brake problems, the CD player skips, the a/c has stopped all together, and now it is making a knocking noise. I will be getting rid of it because I do not want to sink more money in it. It is a shame that Nissan did not pay as much attention to the Maxima as the Altima. If I had it to do over again I would have saved and bought the Altima. Now I will never buy another Nissan, i don't care what they are selling.
Where Oh Where Has Quality Gone
This is my third Maxima since 1995. It is the most leading edge styling. Don't let that fool you. It is the worst car for quality I've ever owned. I am shocked at how many quality errors passed inspection on this car! It's bad enough the steering radius is so large you can't turn into a parking stall without going back and forth. Things don't fit right. Things rattle in the doors. Leather seats sewn crooked. Greasy fingerprints behind the glass on the display panel. Worst of all is after 3 days back at the dealer's, they fixed none of these items. NISSAN, SHAME ON YOU!!!!!
I LOVE this vehicle!
I read a lot of the previous reviews and I think the main issue here is maintenance of a sporty vehicle. I usually get 28 MPG in town and 30-40 MPG on the open road (averaging over 80 MPH). Other than regular maintenance and fixing the suspension parts that my kids have bent over the years, I haven't had any problems. I do replace tires nearly every year because I have the suspension set tight, nearly race ready (remember this is the same suspension the Mercedes Compressor has). I am an aggressive driver that loves to drive at high speeds on the open road. I have had the recalls done and my grill is still great. I am finally putting spark plugs and a K&N filter in it after nearly 90k miles.
