Car was great for the first month. now we get a grinding noise right after shifting into drive and the gas pedal and steering wheel buzz and shake. Been to the dealer twice with no results. Last Nissan this family buys.

New Maxima SE

My new Maxima SE is a great car. The new engine offers tons of power, the ride on the SE was a little harsher than I had expected. In all this is a great car, if you are looking for a comfortable ride try the GLE. If sporty handling with great acceleration is what you need try the SE.

A mixed bag

This car has been a mixed bag. The engine, transmission, and interior have held the test of time. It currently has 130K miles, but right around 100K it turned into a money pit. In the past 30k miles I have put close to $5K in it for weird things like a new brake system and electronic engine mounts. It's always gone to the dealer for regular maint. The worst part is the suspension. It's crap! The road is absorbed through the steering wheel and the struts always feel loose. I've also had a constant wheel shimmy that we live with. I will keep it as long as possible, but I just bought a second car Lexus ES 350. It's no performance car but I love the ride.

Bad Transmission

My transmission died at only 76,000 miles. I bought it used so i assume it was driven hard by the previous owner. I do still love the car though, its faster than most other cars and looks good too.

This car is a wonderful car for the young driver. I had a '95 Maxima before I got the '02 SE Auto. I got into an car accident a little over a month and my old Maxima GLE saved my life. The car is built so well, and care is taken to ensure its perfection. I enjoy driving my '02 Maxima SE Auto as it is very roomy and sporty. The car is great for anyone who like driving a sports car, but prefers a 4-door sedan. The suspension on the car is great; I have tested it out on a number of roads. I would highly recommend this car to anyone who wants a safe, beautiful, and enjoyable car.
