Best 4x4 Midsize Truck For The Money

‘19SV4x4, 05/08/2020
2019 Nissan Frontier SV 4dr Crew Cab 4WD 5.0 ft. SB (4.0L 6cyl 5A)

No other midsize truck even comes close when you consider price. I have the Crew Cab SV 4x4 and it has exceeded every expectation I had. Very impressed with the power, ride and quality. I’m even averaging 20mpg around town, way better than the sticker and lots of reviews online report. I couldn’t be happier with this truck!

Best Midsize and Value Truck on the market!!

I was looking for dependable V6, 4x4, crew cab truck for <$30k and found the Nissan Frontier. It has great power and torque. Plus, it fits in my garage because it is the shortest midsize truck on the market. The seating is way more comfortable vs Tacoma and the price was $13k cheaper. The negative is the turn radius because it is a truck and not a cross over vehicle.

Midnight 4x4 crew

Great looking truck, rugged, and well made. Price is thousands less than the other mid size trucks. You get a solid truck with just the right equipment and technology. The cabin is quite and the front seats are comfortable. The 4.0 6 cyl and transmission run and shift smoothly with plenty of power. The midnight edition trim is what sold me on this truck and it fits in my garage. I'm happy with my 4x4.

2019 pro-4x

I went in for an oil change recently for my 2015 frontier SV 4x4 with Value package, 54,000 miles. Salesman came up to me and asked if they could assess the truck and see what it's worth. FWIW, the frontier is a great inexpensive truck, they wanted it on there lot. I let them do their thing while I waited. Ten minutes later he came back and asked what I might move to if this would work, after dreaming of I platinum reserve titan, I mentioned the pro-4x in cayenne red (new shade of red this year). We were out on a test drive shortly after. Needless to say, I am the proud owner of a new truck, at the same payment i was at before, with a factory warranty for the next few years, at least. Differences between my 2015 vs 2019. Interior color, went from tan to grey, looks much better/newer, just with the color change. Almost makes it seem like not such an old design, lol. Trip computer is nice, 8way adjustable seat is so much better. The navigation/Rockford system is nice to have stock. 2015 had a 10" JL Audio sub under passenger back seat with RF punch 400 amp, sound was not comparable, but stock in 2019 is acceptable enough to spend my time to install 10" JL Audio sub and amp. Truck is louder, I had installed sound dampening on the floor and doors, not sure if I will spend the +-$90 and an afternoon to do, it was nice, though. Their isn't a grab handle for the drivers side a-pillar... doesn't seem like a good use of "redesign" money to delete. Need to get a receiver hitch, I tow a small (1500lbs) pop-up 6+ times a year. Now for the comedy... My son actually likes my truck now! He was having a rough day, he was about 5, was upset at me, and told me what was wrong and added "and I don't like the color of your truck!" Lol it was white, btw. Truthfully, the first truck was great, rear sonar sensors are sensitive/finicky, but, no signs of upcoming issues, besides needing tires soon. I don't see any issue buying a frontier, except everyone will wonder why you bought a "15 year old" truck. I will let you know why I did, cost and reliability, the coolant/transmission fluid issue was fixed a while ago, like 8(?) year ago. Why all media disregards this vehicle is beyond me, how many electronics do i want to have to deal with potentially failing within 10 years. This truck isn't this way, really only have to deal with rear sonar sensors if they touch anything to agressively. I would of had to spend an extra ~$3000 to get a comparably equipped tacoma, not really interested in the rest. Maybe the Ranger, but not til next year or 2 model...

Great truck for use by anyone needing to move furniture and belongings anywhere in nation. Cab is more comfortable than the critics say, Jump seats in back of driver and passenger are perfect for children or small people, rearview camera a great plus. Inexpensive to maintain, but milage is typical of most pick-ups (approx 19.5 mpg, with 5 speed manual, city and interstate driving). The four cylinder engine is great for my use, but substantially underpowered for towing anything larger than lawn mowing equipment.
