A real head turner
My car is going to hit 150,000 miles at the end of this month. Appart from the normal stuff, brake, clutch and some minor switches the major things were the A/C and alternator had to be replaced. I drove over 30,000 miles and never broke down with this car, thus it is fairly reliable. I love how this car looks and am a little mad when I read Edmunds.com's review and how it was complaining about the design. I constatly get compliments from people on how nice the car looks! To me the 3000GT has a timeless design (which does hold for the Dodge Stealth). This car is a lot of fun to drive, it handles very nicely in turns and in highway traffic. The red line starts at 7,000 rpm, which is not bad for a V6 built in '94!
1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT - The 5 F's
I purchased my 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT new and it has been a love affair from day one. The 5 F's? It's fast, fun, fuel efficient, has front wheel drive and a five speed transmission. It just doesn'get any better than this. With 230,000 miles, I have replaced the clutch once and put three sets of tires on it, changed the oil every 3,000 miles, and the timing belt every 60,000 miles. The only thing that annoys me is the transient valve taps. I had the lifters replaced at 120,000 miles and it didn't make a difference, so its something I live with. It comes and goes. I like not having a back seat large enough to seat adults besause I don't have to chauffer anyone else around. This is my baby and she still gets close to 28 mpg on the highway. I love it!

Always wanted this car
Lots of car for the price. Be very careful who you choose to work on the engine (ie.timing belt replacement). Having replaced 2 engines, learned more about the underside of the hood than would have liked, can say that not many mechanics know how to work on them -- this is not the problem of the car, which is mechanically sound. Would buy the VR4 model. I love this car!
Still fun after all these years
It's been over 9 years since I bought my 3000GT new. I still enjoy it. After 96,000 miles, the engine still runs smooth as silk and the power can easily boost me through any traffic situation. The stereo has been a delight. The AC is awesome in our hot climate. As it gets older, I'm looking for a car to replace it, but even the new, upscale sports cars lack its power and smoothness. You learn to expect it. Maybe I should keep it? On the downside, lack of headroom is something you get used to. Reliability has been average. Parts are expensive. But,the performance is what wins you over. It is a delight to drive, even after 9 years.
3000GT's are great
The 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT is the best. It is one of the fastest cars stock that you can buy, especially for the price.
