Great car
We bought this in May of 2019 as my wife got a new job that required a lot of driving and we knew her Jeep was not up to the task. As of today it has 82,000 miles. The only time it has been to the dealer was for regular scheduled maintenance and two instances where the Check Engine Light came on. Both times were software issues. The second time took two weeks for them to sort it out. There was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The software was misreading the data and triggered the light. This car is fast. Way faster than you need it to be. It has been a great road car for us as we zip out for weekend getaways. Plenty of room for a two week trip. When driven conservatively, my wife will easily get 38 to 42mpg. It cost her $19 a week before gas prices rose. Now it is about $30 a week. There are trade offs. The battery storage does not leave room for a spare tire. You will have a difficult time finding a shop that will plug a run flat tire. Our extended maintenance plan has a $50 deductible for tire replacement so that helps. An eight gallon gas tank means you must pay attention to your gas stops on a road trip. I would highly encourage installing a fast charger in your garage. The regular charger will take 8-9 hours. As more chargers are installed in our area, we will benefit. Right now we run all our Saturday morning errands in electric mode. Overall it is a fantastic vehicle. Yes the price was a premium, but it offers premium quality in return. I will not talk about the technology because that is so subjective. What others cannot do without, I will not miss. We can do hands free calls, text and navigation so I am content.
Low-mileage JCW!
I recently traded in my 2019 Cooper 2-door John Cooper Works for a very lightly used 2020 Countryman JCW. As much as it saddened me to let my (real) MINI go, I simply needed more space as this is my only vehicle. I know most buyers probably aren’t cross-shopping between these two models as they are very different cars in many ways. Hopefully, this review is helpful for someone like me- who loves MINI’s and driving fun cars, perhaps owns the 2-door but needs more space and wants to stay with MINI. First, they drive very similar. My Countryman rides MUCH better overall; less stiff and more forgiving over potholes and road imperfections. The Countryman definitely feels bigger and is not as fun to throw around on a twisty road. It’s TOO stable and planted. Also, the power puts down much more stable and seamless with the Countryman. It’s still very quick! But not significantly quicker even with 70 more HP than my 2-door given all the extra weight. My 2-door was certainly more nimble overall, but also a bit flinty. Good and bad depending on the road and traffic conditions. Takeaways here: The Countryman offers a lot of the same in a more livable all-round package. It’s surprisingly spacious and still very fun to drive. I’m looking forward to seeing how it does in the winter having AWD. I live in New England and my 2-door did not feel very stable during especially slippery conditions. Cons: they’re mostly the same as my 2-door- no blind spot monitoring in city traffic is a real drawback. Apple CarPlay is finicky at times. Sometimes it connects, sometimes it chooses not to. The bottom cushion of the sports seat is not comfortable after driving more than an hour or so. The bolstering is too aggressive and cuts into my legs. I’m 6’1 but thin. I imagine this would be very uncomfortable for a heavier and/or taller person. Maintenance costs are high, but my 2-door was very reliable in the 3 years I owned it, only ever needing routine maintenance. I’m hoping my Countryman will be the same. My insurance premium almost cut in half with the Countryman, go figure. There’s another pro to the switch! Overall, I’m happy with purchase! It’s funky but premium, stands out in a crowd and ultimately is a very fun car to drive if that’s a priority for you.

Mucho Mini Love
This car was just what I was looking for!!! Edmunds got straight to the heart of the search and produced a vehicle well worth the money and way exceeded my expectations!
Worst car I’ve ever driven
I got this car as a rental while my car was getting repaired after a collision, first thing I noticed was the terrible stiff suspension as I left the rental lot, then I tried to accelerate onto the freeway and it eventually got up to speed with great effort. The radio/ infotainment system is a pain to navigate so much so that it has a warning every time you start the car, not to scroll through it while driving. All the options are controlled by a scroll wheel on the console, I had to delete the pandora and Spotify apps off my phone so that the car would stop trying to use them instead of just playing music off iTunes. The seats are not particularly comfortable and the leg room is cramped in the front seats. This car is not good for city driving or sitting in traffic, at freeway speeds it rides ok with cruise control on but don’t try to overtake anybody in a reasonable amount of time. Now for the first world problems Equipped with push button start but not keyless entry so you still need to pull out your keys every time you get in or out of it The Bluetooth cuts out sometimes if you get a notification on your phone, and takes 5-10 seconds to reconnect when you get in. The air conditioning is LOUD, I’ve been driving in temps around 70F and the radio has to be at about 80% to here it over the fans on medium speed. If the AC is on full blast the volume has to be at max to kinda hear it. The only thing louder than the AC is the turn signal click The car has no navigation or apple carplay or android auto support Avoid renting this car. DON’T BUY IT there are plenty better cars for cheaper

Not sure yet
Only had the car a few days. Might have made the mistake of not buying the S model. Seems a bit gutless
