Used 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E500 Rwd 4dr Sedan (5.0L 8cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
No BMW
I own a E500 and it is not worth 60,000 dollars. The inside is cheap looking the braking it elctronic, the engine sounds like a civic and its handling is not the best. It is a nice looking car but I would not reccommend it. I have driven the 2003 540i 6-speed and man is that a nice car, its simple, fast, fun and with the new body work its still up there with the E in looks.
Chrysler must have done the Quality Cont
Since Dec 2002, I've had 5 visits to Mercedes service. Once for the B service, others for a noisy break pedal, After the B service, I took it back for a dead audio system, and two days after a Flash update, I took it in for an error in the audio system, and defective SOS system. This is my 3rd Mercedes since 1999 and if things don't improve, it will be my last.

You don't always get what you pay for
I have enjoyed my car, but have some concerns: (1) It should have more horsepower for the price (2) It's been in the shop 3 times before the first service because the computer has malfunctioned (3) the dealer's service has been very dissapointing (4) rear leg room inadequate
E500 Rocks
First time Mercedes owner and I love my E500. It's fully loaded. I was thinking of getting a Q45 or Jaguar S type R, I'm glad I didnt. As far as the the overall style it's sporty & youthful yet luxuriest & sophisticated all in one awesome package. As for the price it's hefty but damm I'm HAPPY. NO regrets.
Slick and quick
The E500 is an exceptional automobile in that the ride is well controlled and yet it is not harsh by any means. It has ample power and the adaptive transmission is silky smooth. The style is not in your face so to speak, yet it is very tastefully executed.
