Joy to drive
Very fun ride. Love the turbo and the handling. I drove a number of SUVs and crossovers and the CX7 was hands down the most fun. Bought the sport model and wished I'd spent a few more dollars for more features, but the driving experience and performance are superb Been averaging over 21 mpg city/hwy. I highly recommend this vehicle.
Surprisingly Good
Coming from a Saab sport Combi-Wagon I remain mightly impressed with the overall performance. No it is not a fast or corner as well, but in the real world of handling and performance, it does everything I want

Overall very nice SUV
Bought a demo in February '08 and it is a very nice SUV. Handles like a sports car and has nice acceleration but does ride a bit stiff. Test drove the CRV, Highlander, RAV4 and Acadia before settling on the Mazda. Fuel mileage is OK if you don't step on it too much but that's difficult because it's really fun to drive!

So far so good, could be better
I was looking for a great value crossover vehicle. I was eyeing the Audi Q5 but it won't come out until late 2009. So I shopped around and compared different makes. The CX7 by far is the closest to the Audi specs. I got the sport version (no leather seats & moonroof).
