Used 2007 Mazda CX-7 Consumer Reviews
Great Car, when it runs 8^(
I fell in love with the styling. I fell in love with the features. I fell in love with the handling. Then the honeymoon was over. After approximately 1800 miles on it, the engine started to sputter when it was cold. It idled fine. But as soon as you put it in gear, the engine would shake violently, & only rev to approximately 2k rpm when you mashed on the gas. The colder the weather the worse it was. 1st trip, dealer, they said it needed a software update. Didn't help. 2nd trip, tried to repair a valve. Didn't help. 3rd replace valve. 4th more software. It is on its 5th time and they don't know what is wrong (after 3 days). If it is not fixed this time, I will try to go the lemon law route. 8^(
Very Pleased
I am very pleased with my CX-7. The drive, handling, features, etc. are amazing. I was also in an accident recently, and the CX-7 handled the drivers-side side impact very well (I walked away with NOTHING wrong - I wasn't even sore days later). I was hit by a big work van, and there was $5000 worth of damage to my CX-7. I am beyond pleased with the CX-7 and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new car.

AWESOME CAR INSIDE AND OUT
Very smooth to drive with wonderful road handling and powerful acceleration. My kids love the spacious interior and sporty design.
Nice vehicle, few issues
This vehicle has nice sporty performance, SUV or not. Good acceleration despite "turbo lag," which can be obnoxious. Quality interior, though somewhat bland appearance. Bose sound system very nice. Decent gas mileage, but premium fuel requirement is expensive - should have used V-6 which probably would have given same MPG with no premium fuel requirement. Braking is excellent. Ride is quite stiff. I needed to replace all four tires at just 18,000 miles. No other maintenance issues. Overall I am happy with this vehicle, but it could use a few modifications/upgrades.
Exceeded Expectations
The mainstay of this car is how it handles and stops. It drives like more of a car than any of the competitors in this segment. If you are looking for something a little more roomy than car but dread the blah design of some cross overs or mini-vans, this is a great alternative. The turbo is responsive and acceleration is swift, but could be better. Upshifts under full throttle hold on a little too long past the powerband. If you have a heavy foot, you will pay at the pump. Driving this car in a fun manner will push mileage down close to 15 MPG. If you drive normal, however, the stated 18 MPG in the city is realistic. On the highway, it has returned about 23 MPG.
