I purchased this crossover suv in July 06 and I just love the ride and the room. I drive to a lot of soccer games and it make all that driving very enjoyable.
Check Engine Light Problem - NO FIX
I purchased this lemon a little over two years ago and don't drive it much. It only has 8500 miles and will be going into the shop for the FOURTH time for a check engine light problem that seems to be impossible to fix. If you enjoy visiting your dealership every 2000mi, this is the vehicle for you. Run, don't walk, away from your Mazda dealer.

I will think twice before I buy this car
I will think twice before I buy this car, This is the worst investment I ever made to buy this car. Since when I purchase this car I was not happy and in same way NOT SAFE with this car, I'm not sure I will get whatever I want to go. After 1 mo my Warranty was expire the transmission went bad. Sorry but I will fix this car and I will be done. No more junk.
We Traded it in!
We Traded in our 2007 Madza CX7 GT AWD with 9500 miles on it today. We were sick of the premium gas and the absolutely horrid gas mileage 10-13 mpg around town. We brought it to the dealer 3 times to check the mileage problems and they claimed there was no problem. The car was fun to drive but made us sick when filling up.
Update to orig post of 3/19, added info
Update to my orig post. After nearly a year of ownership, I still love my CX7! I've had it all over So.Cal from Yosemite to Mammoth to Big Bear. All my original impressions remain. The AWD works well in snow and rain and the combination of traction control and the excellent ABS brakes provide plenty of security on iffy roads. My only complaint is still that of fuel mileage. I am averaging 15.5mpg around town but on a long trip to Tahoe I managed 22mpg @ avg speed of 75mph. Very respectable. The turbo shines on mountain roads, lotsa scoot! It is important to note whether you have the AWD or FWD model, I suspect that has a lot to do with the large delta in mileage reported here.
