My $23,000 car thinks it's a $35,000 car

2016 Mazda 6 i Sport 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 6A)

The Mazda 6, even in base, "sport" trim, is a beautifully designed and executed car. The exterior lines are gorgeous, the interior is crafted with top quality materials, the handling is top-notch, and fuel economy approaches hybrid territory. Some drivers may find the ride a little firm for their tastes, but the car is biased in favor of top-notch handling as opposed to having the most supple ride over bumps. The drive-train, however, is silky smooth. Also, the car's acceleration will not pin you into your seat like a BMW M5, but the engine delivers 35 to 40 mpg on the highway, and passing performance is far more than merely adequate. This is the least expensive car I've ever leased ($249/mo for 36 mos., 12K mi/yr., with absolutely nothing paid at signing), and it's by far the best value of any of the 9 cars I've had in the past 14 years. In fact, I think it compares favorably to, say, my last $35,000 Infiniti G, though without quite the punch but with twice! the fuel economy. I'm amazed that Mazda doesn't sell far more of these vehicles--why buy a boring Accord or Camry when you can have a beautiful Mazda 6 for the same or less money? Zoom zoom.

Traded in Lexus IS for 2016 Mazda6 GT and love it!

I traded in my 2008 Lexus IS 250 which was fully loaded for a new Mazda6 Grand Touring. At 250,000 miles, the Lexus was getting expensive to maintain and I wanted to update technology. Going from a luxury car, I was worried that the "feel" of the car wouldn't be the same. With the Mazda6 GT, in some ways I like the interior better and the car feels great. I don't feel like I am missing the quality of Lexus at all. I am missing AWD as FWD doesn't handle quite the same, but overall I am incredibly happy so far. The car drives and feels great!

I love my Mazda 6! And even more that I was able to get an awesome deal on it thanks to Edmunds. Do your research online before ever going into the dealership. Edmunds was a great resource for this. I negotiated online by email and had a pretty firm price before I even stepped onto the dealer lot. I emailed several dealerships and was able to have about 4 to choose from in the end with about the same deal. Focus on what you're final price is for the car, not your payment. You can always refinance at a lower rate elsewhere after you purchase the car. Use an online auto calculator to figure out how much car you can afford so you know what price you want to ask for.

Great athletic car for daily driving but...

The Mazda 6 is a great sedan that is athletic and performs well in daily driving. It isn't the most comfortable in terms of handling bumps and occasional pot holes...It has a fairly sporty suspension which trades some road manners for excellent handling. However, on good surfaces and long highway stretches it is as good as any competitor for comfort. It is pretty quiet and visibility is okay...honestly could be better in the rear. In terms of mileage and performance, leave the car in sport mode...I found I'm getting consistently good mileage - and of course performance, in sport mode. In eco mode I am able to average 32-33, but I sacrifice performance. I've owned the car for a year and a half and now have 42,000 miles on the odometer. The automatic transmission in sport mode behaves much like a manual, you can feel it brake when you let off the acceleration. It offers good power for passing and isn't particularly loud. That said, it would be nice if it had a touch more power. Overall a super nice car for daily driving. On the downside, I would not purchase again simply because it is expensive to repair even minor dings let alone major work. Unfortunately it is filled with plastic panels and plastic clips. Those are costly to replace and not particularly sturdy. Driving in the city has its hazards..and road damage is sometimes one of them.

I love everything about this car...except that it is my husbands daily driver instead of mine. It is the most beautiful car we have ever owned. The white with the light leather interior is stunning and classy. The car is super comfortable for all our long road trips. I know it seems too pretty to do it but we even take it camping and on dirt roads in the mountains. It puts up with everything we put it through like it was just a warm up for the next big event. Thank you to Mazda for making such a great car! We will be Mazda fans for years to come. Now it is a year later and the car is doing great. I was worried about the light colored interior holding up with all the outdoor activities but it isn't showing any signs of extra wear or discoloration. My husband still LOVES his car and I love my Mazda3 too!
