Used 2018 Kia Stinger Consumer Reviews
Stinger: Is That A Kia?
I’ve owned my certified used 2018 Stinger Premium with a 3 year dealer maintenance service agreement for 9 months. The Silky Silver (outstanding quality - dirt rolls off it) with Black interior car is a great look. The 4-Cylinder engine is quite responsive. I can easily achieve 32 mpg at 75 mph on a 3 hour drive using cruise control in ECO mode. The Harmon Kardon sound system pumps out all the base your chest can take. The rear seat egress does not decapitate you like in European badges. Six foot adults can easily sit in the rear with a six foot driver at the helm. Compared to similar European brands the legroom is much better. The overall styling of the vehicle seemed to pull elements from Masarati and Porche. In order for Kia to meet their vehicle material cost budget and reduce vehicle weight, Kia relied heavily on the use of plastic. The rear lift back has plastic at the license plate area which made it impossible to attach a team spirit magnet. The car is spec’d for 87 but it hits another octave on 93. Twice per month folks ask me what kind of car is that with the “Sigma” badge and twice per month they leave impressed that it is a Kia. Thanks Kia for buying European design talent to create a wonderful machine. Side Note: the only design defect that I experienced are the two 1-inch wide roof clear plastic sleeves over the painted plastic rails began to become brittle. Warranty item. Minor recall in the making. Side Note 2: Offer inter-cooled front seat option. Side Note 3: For women, the car offers excellent security. Once you put the car in drive, all doors and lift back stay locked until you use your remote control to open.

Stinga is a head turner
I wanted and all purpose car that checked all the boxes. For the price point this car did just that-what amazing value. This car is incredibly versatile because it is beautiful looking, sporty, comfortable, all wheel drive, spacious and stocked with amenities. I wanted a sedan that was exciting like a sports car, but still had the functionality to haul family and items around. The Stinga as we affectionately call it is everything you want in a car with a badge known for reliability and economy. Kia did it again they built a$100k car at half the price. I passed on other luxury vehicles and just came out of a Lexus because every article and video affirmed the greatness of this vehicle. When I drove it I was floored. Some things I did realize quickly when buying it. First if you drive it hard and get addicted to that roar and ridiculous speed you will be at the pump a whole lot. However I just completed a 150 mile drive averaging 28.1 mpg!-I didn’t even know I could get better then 25 mpg. Second it is not a small sports car even thought it performs really well on curves this is a big sedan that I would best categorize as a highway monster. On the highway in this semi autonomous driving car it is smooth. Pop it into cruise and keep a hand on the wheel and this GT will do the work. Passing anyone is a piece of cake and few will challenge you knowing the immense power of the Stingers twin turbo 6. My last reveal was the poor turn radius. So my u-turns take longer-eh so what. My favorite features include the 365 horses, the hatch, the wheel/rims/brembos, Apple CarPlay, AWD and the coupe like deign is pure art work. I even like the side marker everyone complains about. Original, like me. What else do I love about this vehicle, is everything else. Usually when I buy a car I start my research for my next car almost immediately but not with the Stinga. I want to enjoy this car fully. Great job Kia!

Extreme Grand Touring Experience
An absolutely amazing car! Beautiful, comfortable, handles very well, fast!, smooth, quiet, and tons of space. I'll simply echo what others have said, for the money, this is the best value compared to it's competition. I NEVER thought I'd own a Kia, now I am thrilled I do!

Right car, Wrong company!!!.... Kia
First the PROS.. The Stinger GT2 AWS was definitely an impulse buy for me. I was out shopping for something else that day and then I saw this beauty across the street and 2 hours later it was mine. In my opinion the red just stands out among other colors. I went for the GT2 AWD because I wanted absolutely everything this gem had to offer. I use the Stinger for my every day driving around town and since we're not a tall family (everyone's under 5'9") even with all 5 of us in the car on longer trips we have plenty of fun. I love the power plant in this car. It's fun under any driving conditions. Various driving modes actually do change the overall dynamics significantly. Napa leather seats are heated and cooled! Love that being in AZ. The sportback design with its hatch provides for plenty of cargo capacity for daily shopping as well as long trips. Infotainment and navigation is more intuitive and simpler to use than most competition, and the sound system is awesome! HUD is great to have in normal as well as spirited driving situations. Safety features like lane keep and adaptive cruise actually work very well. Adaptive cruise will bring the car to a full stop and then resume in stop-n-go traffic. And the LOOKS! I have never gotten this many compliments on looks of any of the 20+ cars I owned, some of which cost significantly more than the Stinger, in the past 28 years. At every store, gas station, rest stop, traffic light, just hundreds of turned heads and even after a year and a half it's still happening almost daily. It's packed with just the right features and options that I enjoy to the fullest. I still look forward to driving the stinger daily. And yes, I love the fake hood vents!!! Now the CONS.... and this really saddens me as a proud owner.... DEALER EXPERIENCE... or lack of thereof :( I've had nothing but horrible experience with the dealers in Phoenix area. From buying (paperwork issues and refunds / corrections needed) to servicing the vehicle on ongoing basis, I dread every visit to the dealer. Having spent $55k on a luxury performance vehicle I (and my car) still get treated like the grandma that bought that Kia Soul for $14k. I caught the service department in several lies.. skipped service, dishonest responses. I've personally worked on cars for 20+ years so I can't afford the level of ignorance that would slide with these folks. They told me they've changed oil when they haven't, rotated tires when they didn't... etc. At every appointment I have to actually tell the service department what they need to do at given mileage / interval. And that's with an actual pre-paid maintenance plan in place - total waste of my $. When put on the spot the service manager just comes up with excuses or further lies. With 2018 model still still a fresh concept, the vehicle had couple of issues in the first few months. The infotainment system screen had to be swapped out as sound/fade issues kept resetting to full rear position without any input. The front brakes kept squealing and had to be replaced. The Engine auto start / stop feature, which is completely misplaced on this vehicle and is the most annoying and dangerous feature ever installed in a performance sedan, didn't work correctly. I absolutely hate the fact that it cannot be disabled permanently but rather has to be clicked off every time you start your engine. Madness! Put it in as a check-mark in settings or give me a toggle switch. This thing still scares me when it auto shuts off the engine while I wait for traffic to clear in a left turn. This awesome idea - the Stinger model, at the very least should have been a Genesis!!! But for now, it's a great car with absolutely no proper service or support to back you up as a proud buyer/owner. Right car - Wrong company!

Kia Stinger has two flaws.
Kia should have gone with a design that doesn’t mimic the Cadenza,Optima and K900. They should have made a Coupe available. The leg room for tall drivers isn’t good. Front legroom is 42.6” but in the Optima it’s 45.5”. My Optima is very comfortable for my 6’2” frame. I was very uncomfortable in the Stinger. This is surprising since the Stinger and Optima are almost the same length.
