Outstanding car
After 20 months I have two complaints, otherwise the car is great and actually is a little faster than you imagine. 1. It sits low, almost too low, it's hard to get in and out, especially for a first time passenger. 2. The visibility for the driver is bad, the B pillar blocks your peripheral vision, the fast back design, large headrests, and large outside rear view mirrors all take away part of the driver's sight line. The car has all the electronic safety warnings, probably more than you think, but when you drive one you'll learn the term "limited visibility" doesn't mean just foggy conditions. The KIA Stinger was built in Korea but certainly has "German parents". It was designed with Audi influence and because of BMW (M) influence it will perform better than you're anticipating. The many safety, handling, and performance adjustments available permit the driver to personalize almost every function on the car from driving in "econ" mode when going to the library or to 'custom" (your choice on everything) when the BMW, Audi or Mercedes pulls next to you. UPDATED REVIEW: I bought the car at the end of the lease (about $27K) and I did purchase the extended warranty (mainly because of the electronics) and am still extremely pleased with the Stinger. My two original complaints (sitting low and rear visibility) are no longer issues, I've adapted and everything is good. The strong rumor is that KIA will stop production of the Stinger with the 2022 model year because of low/slow sales. I would prefer that KIA re-imagine the Stinger as all electric performance vehicle rather than stop production. I still have people asking what kind of car is that and when I tell them KIA, the response usually is something negative about KIA. Having owned BMW's "M3 and M5", my 2 cents is, before you purchase a German sedan, go drive a Stinger and use "Sport Mode", then decide. Update: I have had the Stinger for 4 years/36,000 miles and the car is still great, nothing has gone wrong, broken or required adjustment although I did add a tuner kit to give the car a little more "juice", it's noticeable I might add. The tech who installed the tuner kit said the car may have been built in Korea, but underneath it's German influence for sure. Again I say, before you drop 50K-75K on a German sedan just go drive a Stinger in Sport mode. The car now has 60,000 miles and the car is still great, no issues with anything. The car is 6 years old and people still comment on the car’s looks. A used Stinger V6 twin turbo would be a nice addition to anyone’s garage. I will predict unless you currently drive some tricked up daily driver the Stinger will probably become your daily driver.

I love mine!
Noisier than its competition. I have zero complaints one month in. Even sporting around I am still getting 24mpg average! Kia has really done a great job on this car. Only complaints are the somewhat louder noise and the badging of the US version should be the same as the Korean version. Also why they chose to omit the Qi charging from the US version makes no sense.

A great look and performance ... for a song.
I am very satisfied that I opted for the Kia Stinger Premium. 255 hp is totally adequate for my needs. The fuel mileage is excellent! I average about 29mpg. Wish the fuel tank was a bit larger (like the Optima). The car is loaded with so many technical marvels that it took weeks of ownership to discover and appreciate all of them. And the best part, I paid only $33,600 out the door. That is incredible value!

Test Drive
Okay. So I have been waiting for this car to arrive for almost 1 year. I test drove the GT1 and really liked it. This is a really nice sports sedan. I compared the features and performance to the A5 sport-back (the other car I am considering). This car far exceeds the Audi. The only item I preferred that the Audi has is a full digital instrument cluster. But that is really not a deal breaker for me. Even though the car just came out, the dealership I was working with was fine in selling me the car at $750 over their cost. I will be looking to purchase the car on Jan 2, 2018.
