Kia turbo soul is the best value in the Kia line. You get exactly what you pay for. The highest price yields the flagship of the soul line up. the added features are worth the 5 grand. led wrap around tail lights. Dual exhaust that sound great. paddle shifters. Dual drive modes. Dual turbo gages. Mood music lighting. Rear warning. Blind warning. configurable lane assist. Configurable cruise control. Configurable front accident assist and braking. 18" wheels . A vehicle that can take a cloverleaf at 50 mph. Goodyear touring tires. 34 average MPG . This is my 5th soul and my 3rd turbo. 2013, 2015,2018T, 2020T, 2022T. Kia Turbo soul....don't leave home without it!

Not without flaws

2022 Kia Soul LX 4dr Wagon (2.0L 4cyl CVT)

It seems like all of the professional reviews (and most consumer reviews) describe the Soul as an automotive saint, well it ain't. I own the 2022 LX model with the tech package (a $900 must have as it includes not only some nice rims but a bevy of safety features). A major complaint is the low quality paint, it almost immediately suffered from swirls, scratches, and a general dullness (avoid the Inferno Red). The black plastic trim on the exterior is already starting to fade too. Another disappointment was the blue tooth/infotainment center. Often times it has difficulty linking with my phone or it hijacks my phone and I can't use it for a period of time. Voice commands are sluggish and overall the system can be glitchy and frustrating. The Soul is clearly a budget vehicle but at over $21,000 for a base model, I expected better. On the bright side, I am averaging 34 mpg with a mix of about 30% city and 70% highway, and I am an assertive driver. The ride is fairly civil considering it's short wheelbase and pretty quiet considering it's boxy shape (however, the engine sounds rather unsophisticated when called upon to accelerate). The interior is attractive and tasteful. This model is a huge improvement over earlier versions, but far from flawless.

So Good...

First, this is not N SUV, nor, a CAR; it is neither and both! Great features, nice ride, awesome storage and carrying capabilities, plus, its just FUN! I traded in my 2011 Optima SX, full loaded at the time, but this vehicle is so different and useful that I don't miss it so much. It had 115,000 trouble free miles, so why not get something different and with newer everythings! Took our first road trip up to Mt St Helens, and goe a reported 32.2 mpg, it only has a couple hundred miles ànd it was fun playing with all the buttons, and figuring everything out. Quiet, nice ride, great driving position, awesome power from the 1.6 turbo, and the DCT, reminds me of a manual, more than a sslushbox or a CVT. It shifts crisply, smoothly, and is easy to modulate with the gas or paddle shifters. Only paid 29k out the door and its got a shitload of features. Looking forward to providing more updates. I bought it because of the aforementioned, and the best warranties on the market. Still figuring out the UVO, but, thats just another road trip adventure!

Love driving the 2023 Soul LX! Handles well, comfortable. Love the space and the digital dash. The only things I don't like are the auto off function for the engine, where it turns off at a light to save emissions because it shutters. You can click a button to have it off but you have to do that EVERY time you start the car, which is annoying. Also there isn't a car trunk release on the dash or key fob so the only way to open it is outside on the hatchback door.

Know that this funky boxy hatch has every amenity Kia has to offer except cooled seats. I loved all (3) models I have owned from a 2016 base model with a 1.6L non turbo engine and 6 spd manuel transmission to a 2021 Kia Soul EX. It was definitely the sweet spot but I wanted more I wanted the whole shebang! After almost 12 months I upgraded to the 2022 Kia Soul Turbo, finally the one I wanted most of all. The 1.6L turbo engine gives and keeps giving it to you. The sport tuned suspension, the turbo engine and the 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission work seamlessly together to get you from 0-60 in 6.5 seconds not bad for a brick on wheels. All the amenities make this the perfect Hiway cruiser for me now that I’m traveling more by car than flying. The steering wheel shifters are handy and precise too. All the safety features inspire confidence along with its class leading warranties. I have the cherry black one with the red trimming inside and out. The dual chrome exhaust tips says sooo much about this little pocket rocket I’m Sold on this vehicle that’s why I call myself The Soul Man. You can’t go wrong with any model of the Kia Soul.
