Used 2011 Kia Sorento LX 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 6A) Consumer Reviews
Don't waste your cash!
We purchased this car because of the warranty and the fact of having good luck with Hyundais. Our test drive was a couple of blocks, our mistake, bought the car. This is the roughest riding car I have ever driven, acts like it doesn't even have shocks. The Kia Rep. was in town, took our car for a drive and we were told that the roughness was due to the 17" wheels which are on the LX models, paid over $22,000 less than three months ago, they offered $17,500 trade-in on he EX model. I called the Kia Factory and they said we would just have to live with if or put 18" wheels at our expense. My advice is. STAY AWAY FROM THE HYUNDAI AND KIA CARS, the warranty is not worth it.
Great Value, but you get what you pay for.
We have a 2005 Sorento with a 158,000 relatively trouble free miles. So when we went car shopping, looking at a new Kia seemed logical. We have had this 2011 Sorento for 2 weeks and 749 miles. We get about 22.5 mpg due to the hilly commute to work. We chose the Sorento after test driving a 2009 Cadillac CTS, Optima Turbo S, and a cool white tiger Soul. We sat in a Forte' but deemed it too small for our comfort. We couldn't help but compare all the different ride qualities to the Cadillac CTS. Surprisingly the Sorento's ride quality is comparable to the Cadillac, although somewhat noisier. The Kumo tires are good but occasionally sound like over inflated balloons when driving over rough road.

Noisy clanking and knocking suspension
Nice quiet ride on smooth roads at all speeds. BAD suspension. Rattles and knocking sounds from front right side only on minor bumps.Did this from day 1 and now over 3500 miles still the same. Even a new one at dealer did the same thing. 3 attempts to fix at dealer results in "COMMON TO THIS VEHICLE"! Come on Kia lets get this fixed or it's bye bye Kia forever.
Transmission
The car drove good, but at 20,000 miles the Transmission went out. Kia repaired it at no cost. I do not feel that I have a new car any longer. I have asked Kia to give me a new vehicle but they only offer to pay 1 month payment.
Satisfied So Far
We purchased our 2011 Sorento a few weeks ago. Driving conservatively, getting around 25 mpg in town. Spacious interior...husband is 6'4 and fits comfortably with adequate head room. Appealing looking interior & exterior. Ride not as smooth over rougher roads. Occasional rattling in rear area...not able to identify. Click sound from dashboard, behind radio when slowing down & hitting 5 mph. Dealership stated that the click noise is due to a "relay" which allows a driver to move from Drive to Reverse. The sound is a little frustrating/irritating to me but may not bother other drivers. Overall, the vehicle appears to be a great purchase.
