"Refill Inverter Coolant" and no one seems to know what to do to fix it. Have talked to a couple dealers about this and they say its ok to drive. It is annoying and I (or anyone that owns one) should have to see on their display when driving. Not so sure I will keep it long or recommend one to anyone who might ask me.

Buyers Remorse
Ahhh....where do I begin? Before purchasing my 2022 Kia Sorento EX Hybrid, I had a 2019 Chevy Traverse LT. I LOVED that thing, but we purchased it certified pre-owned on a rainy day and unfortunately didn't notice a number of cosmetic issues on it until after the fact. The used car market was hot and instead of hanging onto the Traverse, only to have to eventually repaint it entirely, we ended up getting more for the trade than what we paid for it originally. I had considered whether or not I'd regret trading it in. Other than the cosmetic issues, there was nothing I didn't like about it. But, we figured when else are we going to have the opportunity to come out ahead on a VEHICLE of all things? The Sorento is obviously smaller, and the biggest thing I took into consideration before trading it in. It was a major factor, but something I decided I could live with in exchange for a modern-looking vehicle and a panoramic roof. But when we got it home and took our first weekend trip, 2 carry-on suitcases is literally all that can fit behind the third row. When we purchased the Sorento, we had 2 kids (6 and 4), but now we are expecting baby number 3. We could definitely still fit 3 kids into the car with 2 in the captains chairs and 1 in the 3rd row, but there is so little real estate behind the 3rd row that it makes me incredibly nervous putting my kid back there. After trying to do some research to figure out if it's my hyper-paranoid mom brain, or a legitimate concern, I was shocked to see how little rear-impact crash testing is done. Not a knock on Kia, but if NHTSA or any other safety organization isn't taking the time to test a vehicle's rear-impact integrity, I'm going to make sure there's as much real estate behind the 3rd row as possible to absorb any potential impacts. For reference, I am 5'3 and sat in the rear sit on a cross-town trip with family members traveling with us. I am FIVE FOOT THREE and my head was touching the back glass. That is how close the door is to the back seat. Even just a minor impact would likely send glass falling on top of my 6-year old. Rarely using the 3rd row is ideal, which I realize that is primarily what this vehicle is designed for. At the same time though, what is the point of even having a third row if you intend on rarely using it? CONS: Counting out the well-known issue of size, there are so many other features about the Sorento that I just am not a fan of. The car literally drives me insane. I would love to get a Telluride, but I'm nervous that Kia would also carry these nuisances over to it too: - Temperature pre-sets: You can't pre-set a temperature for remote starts. It defaults to 72 degrees, UNLESS you pay for their subscription. Then you can pre-set the temperature from your phone. But if you have multiple profiles set on the car (like I have one and my husband has one), it only pre-sets the temperature for one profile. If my husband was the last to drive, and I remote start it to drive to work the next day, it will pre-set under whatever settings he has. - AC settings: One of the most annoying things is that even when the AC/Heat is turned Off, the fresh air intake is constantly on, and it comes into the cabin at the temperature the Heat/AC was last set at. You can switch it to recirculate so you don't have air blasting in your face even when it's turned off, but it flips back over to fresh air after 3 minutes. It doesn't matter how many times you switch it back to recirculate or how many curse words you use, 3 minutes is all you get. - Moonroof: A minor complaint, but still a complaint, is that you can't have the sunroof open but the sun shade closed half way. It's all or nothing which means 2nd row passengers will have the sun in their eyes if you have the sunroof open. The back half of the sunroof is fixed glass anyway, so I'm unsure why the shade couldn't be closed over that part. - ALL THE NOISES: The noises this car makes so many beeps and chimes. The collision-warning system is great, but far too sensitive. I can be actively braking and well aware of the vehicle turning ahead of me, but it will still chime like I've done nothing. Parking sensors are entirely too sensitive. If I go through a drive-thru line, it beeps the entire time because I'm "too close" to the wall. It even beeps when I park to drop my kids off at gymnastics. There are bushes on the other side of the curb, so of course it beeps then too because I'm "too close" to the bushes. If you pull into your driveway and take your seat belt off early, be prepared for the seat belt alert to chime until the car is turned off. It even continues to chime after the car is in park. Insane. Not to mention, you cannot reverse in the hybrid without announcing to the world that you're doing so. I realize that this is a hybrid safety feature, but I don't understand why it beeps, even when the engine is on. - Interior smell: The syntex material STILL gives me a headache, even after having the car for 5 months. It is so overpowering that I literally asked my OB if I shouldn't be driving the car while I'm pregnant. There's just not enough out there to know if it's a legitimate concern, but there are quite a few articles out there that indicate the smell is from high levels of VOCs off-gassing from the materials. - Design defects: These are defects, in my opinion. Things that just make no sense are a nuisance. If there is forecasted snow or ice, you cannot simply raise the windshield wipers up like you can with 99% of other vehicles. Instead, you have to set the wiper settings at specific settings, and if you lose the sticker on the windshield, you would probably have to reference the manual or online forums to know how to set them. The windshield wiper fluid blasts a chemical smell throughout the cabin. There is even a setting that "limits wiper fluid scent from entering the cabin", but it only limits it by about 25% in my opinion. You cannot lock the doors if any of them are open. If you remote unlock the doors, they will lock as you approach the vehicle if it's been over a minute since you've unlocked them. I assume this is a safety/anti-break in feature, but it's so incredibly annoying. The second and third rows have very little audio volume. The third row and beyond have no speakers. The occasion that I sat in the third row, I realized my kids really couldn't hear the music that I could clearly hear upfront. We played with the settings and realized they were set the correct way. PROS: - I have no issues with the hybrid functionality itself. I got quite a bit lower MPG in the winter, but I assume that is because the engine kicked on more in below freezing temps. - The exterior design of the Sorento itself is fantastic. It is certainly a sharp-looking car. - The navigation and other tech features are great, but I find myself not using them like I thought I would - If you're accessing the second row from the rear, there is a release button that helps lay them flat from the back instead of walking around the side and manually laying them down - The USB ports in the rear of the front seats is a great feature for second-row passengers. We haven't had to use them yet, but I could see how valuable they would be on road trips. Ultimately, I will be trading the Sorento in for a larger, less annoying third-row SUV before baby #3 comes.

Got a few screwy things about it
Have trouble putting this thing in gear. Have 3k miles on it, is hard to put in gear sometimes, it just won't click in with the dial and get in gear. Went to move it at our house this evening and the thing acted like it had brakes on it, it would not move forward or backward and the screen kept saying that I needed to fasten my seatbelt which I had done, said to make sure the back gate was closed which it was I double checked it I had to shut the thing off two or three times to get the park to release so I can move it. Absolute screwy piece of equipment. I would have to think long and hard before I ever bought another one of these.

Step in the right direction, flatters to deceive
Researched the Sorento hybrid extensively, drove twice. Nice option but the third seat is poorly designed and a waste. Good only for small kids at best. Rear space is minimal. Showstopper for us also was that in both the S and EX trim, the passenger side seat only has manual controls! This makes NO sense. We are passing up on this vehicle. Sad because the promise was there but someone made poor decisions on design options.
