Buick ride & quality at a Kia Price!
I replaced my Buick Park Avenue with 125,000 miles , with this KIA. The Buick suffered a sudden crack in the transmission flywheel. I found no difference in ride quality and the fit and finish frmo my Buick to my KIA. The acceleration is excellent too. My Buick got about 30 MPG and my KIA get 25 MPG. But with the extra seating options and front and rear a/c I love the KIA more. I like the fact I saved more than $ 15,000 off the Buick Price. I saved so much money I bought my wife a car too! A KIA SPECTRA !
Long Distance Machine
We love driving long distances in our van. We have made several trips from NY to FL and have been sastisfied with its performance in all road conditions. It carries a large load while mainting an excellent ride. Gas mileage doesn't vary much traveling with a load at high speeds. One of its greatest features is that it burns regular gas. Service has been excellent at Atlantic Auto Mall. Prior to this car, we drove Ford Taurus wagons for more than 15 years.

Nice Van
This van has been a great vehicle.
New Owner
After several trips to different dealers we finally bought a Sedona. With only 300 miles on the vehicle it is a joy to drive. We've had several other mini vans, and so far this is the only one I can't wait to get in to drive.
bang for the buck
After the haggling, we paid $17500 after rebate with the optional abs and roof rack. How can you go wrong. Add in the warranty and it's a no brainer. My wife and I laugh at the Oddessy's on the road. We paid $6,000 + less for a very comparable vehicle. The Kia was as good or better than the competition. What some people will pay just have the Honda name, what a pity.

this car is fast speedy and good it shold be priced less
Should've bought one sooner!
We just purchased our Sedona on May 31st and I can't believe we waited this long! KIA would not have normally been our first choice since they are relatively new to our market, but after much research and a few test drives, KIA Sedona won hands down! The ride is awesome, it is stylish, well equipped and the safety ratings are wonderful! I don't mind the lower gas mileage because I know that it is caused by the reinforced body for safety. You can't put a price tag on the safety of yourself or your family!
This is the best mpv ever med
Excellent. The kids can do what they want in the back of the car. Me and my wife just talk a bit.
Satisfied With My Sedona
My Sedona is a 2002,purchased new.It currently has 9456 miles on it.I did have a problem within the first month of purchase. The alternator failed and the dealer had no replacement in stock. My vehicle was in the shop about a week waiting for parts. They finally took an alternator from one on the lot and replaced it.I have had no more problems with this vehicle.Im satisfied.
Can't Beat The Price!
We've had our Sedona now for about 3 months and we LOVE it! No one else can hold a candle to Kia in what you get for the price. Other vans are thousands more, and they nickel and dime you on options. My biggest concern, of course, will be reliability and ongoing quality of materials. That said, interior and exterior finishes seem solid and well thought out. We hope that our Kia will be with us for a long time to come!
Great van for whole family!!!!
I have purchased this van for more room and comfort for my two little angels who are 3 and 5 years old.. our first concern was "safety" of the van..and the second was value and options you can get.. For the safety, you cannot argue on Sedona which got five stars on four way.. On value.. how you can get the minivan has all those options (such as leather, cd cassette player, moonroof, ABS ...) for less than or equal to strip minivan from other manufacturer.. plus it ride really nice and seats are very comfortable.. powerful engine etc...
LOVE my new van....BUT......
This is our first van. I researched and researched before purchasing. I absolutely LOVE IT and you can't beat it for the price and warranty. I couldn't imagine buying the "Brand Name" vans and paying $30k+ for the stuff I have in my sedona. We just bought it a week ago, at 655 miles the engine light is on! NOT HAPPY! Have an appt for service already...never thought I'd be in this position.
Happy and driving
I shopped around and read as much as I could before buying. I looked at everything and only drove the ones I liked. The Sedona has the best looking interior of any mini-van, it has the best price and best warranty. This is a great van other than the poor gas milage and smallish space behind third seat. I drive it a lot on long freeway trips to Vegas, I always arrive fresh and never fatigued.
Just Plain Excellent
Kia , has really out done its self! Under Promise and for Sure it Over Delivered one awesome Vehicle! Road Trips are Comfy and those daily dreaded commutes are a breeze thanks to the Comfort , Style , and design of Kia Sedona. I would highly recommend this Vehicle to everyone!
First Trip
We got the EX. Rode really nice on summer trip. Kia quality on this vehicle is good
Had my troubles
I bought my Kia used and immediately, (I do mean immediately) I had catalytic converter issues. Dealer fixed it. I then experienced the "check engine" light coming on when it had rained torrentially. Since this little mystery, I have had NO problems with my van. I do heartily recommend buying an extended warranty. I do not love this van but it does get me to work and hauls my dogs.
Great car
My van was when it was New by my brother, at 138,000 with proper maintenance runs fantastic!I recommend it!
ITS THE BEST FAMILY MINIVAN EVER'
PRICE, COMFORT and RELIABILITY. we hit FLORIDA 2x UP NORTH so many times. I use it to haul furniture and equiptment for my DJ gigs and much more my kids always fell asleep for a long ride watching movies and with its tri climate control we can set everything we wanted for oh the captain seats in the middle for a much more comfy long or short rides.

Our "new" 2003 Sedona
We bought a new Sedona in 04 a d had it for 14 years before trading it in on a used 2016 sorrento. Mileage in our 04 Sedona was 265k miles The only issues we had were: Intake air sensor Ignition coils Catalytic converter sensor Timing sensor That's all. My wife drives the new car and we just gave my 2010 Mazda 3 to our youngest. I've missed the sedona (and the space) and just bought a one owner 2003 Sedona EX with 84k miles. Came with all service records and drives amazing. I've got my MAN-VAN back

PROUD KIA SEDONA OWNER
I AM SO PROUD OF MY SEDONA. I FEEL AS IF I KNOW A SECRECT THAT THE OWNERS OF WINDSTARS, CARAVANS AND OTHER MINI VANS DON'T. YOU CAN OWN A QUALITY PRODUCT AND NOT HAVE TO SPEND THOUSANDS OF EXTRA DOLLARS TO GET IT. MY SEDONA IS CLASSY, SPORTY, ROOMY AND RIDES LIKE A DREAM. THE BEST PART IS YOU DON'T SEE THEM AT EVERY STOP LIGHT. I FEEL PROUD TO BE DIFFERENT. I LOVE MY KIA!!!
don't pay more for a name brand
We have had our Sedona for six months now, and we love it! No problems at all.At first we were a little leary about buying a Kia, but with all the great extras you get(moonroof,cd player, power everything)then the warranty, and of course the huge savings over the other guys, we would be stupid to get anything else. Although it does use a lot of gas!
Great Van
I love this Van. We dont have enough stuff to put in all the interior storage compartments. It has all the features and more of the MUCH more expensive Vans. We have had it for over a year now and Havent had any complaints yet. Plus I went Head to head with a realative who owns the Honda Van in a "well I have this" comparison. The only thing he could do better was flip his rear seat over. He got rid of it later that year due to costs.
best overall
this car is awesome for frst time drivers. it is definitely a safe vehicle. I love it.
Got 3 of them
Only problem I see is with their so called alternators... they stink - to date I have had to replace one on all 3 of my Sedonas. Other than that for what I paid for them they're great.
Kia Sedona
Excellent minivan for the money. Drives great and has adequate room for our family of 4.
What a Wonderful Vehicle, K, K, KIA!!
All I can say is KIA! This is a WONDERFUL vehicle & I can't say enough about it. This minivan is loaded & when U add features, nothing else even comes CLOSE to KIA on price, affordability and quality. Other comparably equipped vehicles are $3000 to $7000 more. I previously owned a 2002 KIA Rio Cinco which I simply adored & traded in for the Sedona. Just to show Kia's quality, I had 40,000 miles on my Cinco & all I ever did was change the oil. THAT'S IT! The new 2003 Rio Cinco's have all the features that the 2002 model lacked. What a GREAT vehicle. I used to be Mitsu proud but now I am ALL KIA! For price, quality and overall value you can't beat KIA!
2002 sedona
worth the $10,000.00 savings over the big 3 with the same equipment.will keep till the warranty expires.
Updated Post
If you really look around on the reviews of www.edmunds.com, you may have noticed that I have written a few on the kias. We love them all, this van is no different. Granted, this Sedona has had its problems. Since the purchase of the Kia van, we have had to; replace the altinator, replace wheel barring, needs a a coil fixed ($500) and its a gas gussler. I will be the first to admit that I am byist for Kias, I love them. This van is smooth riding, great comfort. Just the older Kias had their problems. Not the new ones though.
Never Again
1st two months of ownership van was in dealer's shop 4 times. Right window would stick midway up. One lube, two motors, one passenger side switch replaced. Next bubbling in paint under side windows and rust under rear logo. At 2 years 3 months and 28000 miles the alternator failed and battery died. Two weeks later going on a trip van overheated and left us stranded on side of road. Towed to dealer and they claimed upper radiator hose clamp came loose and hose came off? Poor quality control and workmanship. Never again.
Smart Shopper
We have owned our Sedona for 1.5 years and came very close to the Honda Odyssey but in the end went with what would suit our budget best. The van has been reliable and easily fits adults and carseats without crowding. We have had to use the warranty a few times and had to shop for a dealership/service dept who would accomodate the repairs without hassle. If you have time for the occassional repair of a power seat or heater fan then it is well worth the extra effort for the extra savings.
Update to original review
I believe I reviewed this car back when I bought it 3 years ago. We still like it. When all of the seats are in there isn't much space, but I typically only need one of the back seats in, so we have plenty of space. It's very comfortable, even on a trip. I have heard lots of complaints about road noise and vibrations which I never notice because I am too busy listening to the radio . We have been back to the dealer a few times for for some annoying little things like broken cup holders and a seatbelt sensor that stopped working (the seat belt worked fine). We drive the van pretty hard I have replaced two tires, but brakes, spark plugs, etc. are still going strong.
