mom's sedona

My mom loves the van to death, first she had a chrysler town and country that was a 1999 she paid more for that van than she did for the sedona. The ride, performance and also the longgevity of the vehicle is going to be much greater. The reason I say that because My mom had the chrysler van for 1 year and the trans went out. Then again about 30,000 miles later that's when she decided to trade that thing in on a sedona van. No problems what so ever and she is 100% satisfied about the van. Knowing that the van is 5 Star rated even makes it more fun to drive.

This minivan is amazing. The options, features and factory warranty that you get for the price are what convinced us to buy this vehicle. We had a Pontiac Montana for three years before buying a Kia Sedona and are very happy with our purchase. I did a lot of research and test drove several makes of vans before we decided this was the one.

This is the first mini-van we have ever owned. And I love the room. You have all the luxuries without the high cost! We had test driven almost all out there, then this one. There was no question on which one we were going with. The only problem I have noticed so far is a very squeaky drivers seat and I just haven't had the time to contact Kia about it. I highly recommend anyone out there looking for a mini-van to go and test drive a sedona and I lay odds you will walk out owning one!

it was a nice van until it got a oil leak that the dealership couldn't fix even with kia's help. you might get all the goodies not included w/other vans but better check the mechanics, in other words, it's cheaper for a reason.good thing it's got a really good warrenty cause it's going to be worked on a lot if this is the way the whole thing was made.

This is my first Kia and my first minivan and I am impressed. I walked into the dealership with everything researched and walked out with just what i wanted at the price i wanted to pay. I am impressed with the vehicle. It runs great and is very comfortable. the only thing i can see i dont like is the gas mileage. It is lower than most other minivans, but i guess you cant have everything. I would definely recommend this Vehicle.

If it wasn't for those rear seats and the noisy air conditioning, I would keep this car. I can't stand fighting with those rear seats. They are super heavy (if no impossible) to remove and replace. I actually took it back to the dealer and made them put the seats back in. Even the sales guy couldn't do it. The air conditioning is super loud when the car is idling. Step on the gas just a little and the noise goes away. Come to a red light and the noise is louder than the radio. My next minivan will have fold away seats. I'm looking at the Odyssey or the Sienna. And the gas mileage is terrible. Maybe 15 city, 19 hwy.

This van filled the need to have a vehicle that was easy and comfortable to drive, have a good warranty and be easy for Great Danes to get in and out of, providing them with ample head room and plenty of fresh cool air. It's easy to drive, handles well, and has a good solid feel to it when you close the doors. Ride is smooth and quiet, and the multiple seating configurations are fantastic. Kia has provided us with a great car for the money...no complaints here Mike Venezia Jackson, NJ

Driving my Sedona mini-van is always a pleasure. Getting on the inter-state from a ramp is no problem at all with the power it has, and passing is also easy. Although the gas mileage is not the best,I"ll swap that for the power.

Bought my Sedona in NOVEMBER OF 2003. I couldn't put 2003 on the date purchased window. Car's great. Drives well. Haven't driven much. When I got it, it had 8 miles. It has now aboutj 220 miles. So far, it drives well. I think, the steering is a bit too sensitive. Rear seats, kinda vibrate too much producing the vibration noise. Over all the minivan is excellent.

Tried several minivans and I liked the Sedona EX the best. I fit well in it at 6'6". You get a lot for your money in comparison to Honda or Toyota or a domestic. I was really surprised at the quality of the interior and the general fit of the van. Good stero the EX is well worth the extra $. The HP may scare you off but there is good acceleration with over 210 pounds of torque

I have had more troubles with this vehicle than with all other vehicles combined. I had the rear seals and the head gasket on the first engine replaced at 17K, the engine replaced at 22K. (it leaked oil again) The gaskets replaced on the second engine at 28K and guess what it leaks again at 37K. This is not to mention the starter, alternator, fuel sending unit, the door handle that broke, and the fog light that was half full of water. (All replaced or repaired under warranty) The tires were very poor and were replaced at 20K and the breaks are almost shot. If you include the poor gas mileage, it was one heck of a value.

I learned a valuable lesson about researching cars after owning this one. Safety without reliability is not safe. The alternator went out at 36k. I lost the ability to steer or accelerate on the freeway at night. The warning lights came on about 1 minute before the car failed so I was in the exit lane and luckily rolled straight off the freeway exit without power, and rolled into a gas station. Sure the warranty covered the repair and Kia towed it for free-but I was almost killed along with my unborn child, 2 other children and the babysitter in the car. Now the sliding doors won't open from inside, the AC compressor/clutch failed, electrical problems abound, and I can't give it away.

It's a Minivan and at about ten thousand less than a comparably equipped anything else it's agreat deal. The build quality is great the warranty is great, it's got a five speed auto and a pretty lively v6. It's not a porsche it's a minivan, sorta like buying a toothbrush, something you just gotta have. And to my surprise I like driving it as much as my other no kids get to go to work in it German thing. Maybe I'll replace my car with a Kia Optima, so we'll have matching Kia's!!

The South Koreans have nearly hit a homerun with this one! Good build quality, fit-and-finish, looks, comfort, and rock solid value all make the Sedona minivan a good choice for today's families. There are just a couple of refinement issues, but they are negligible. The one thing that DOES suck, though, is the mileage. You're doing well if you get 22 mpg on the highway, cruising at a constant speed on flat land. Trouble is, we have LOTS of hills/valleys here in Cincinnati, so mileage here tends to be awful - normally around 15 mpg in the city. The 3.5-liter V6 has plenty of power to get us up those really steep hills, but it's a thirsty engine. Overall, I'm pretty happy with my van.

Well, the starter going within the first week should of been the sign. 5 yrs, 80,000 miles later I have 3 broken handles they will not fix for less than $500 apiece, the turning radius is like a box or truck, not like all the caravans I've had. I gave up 18" in the grand caravan and you really do miss it. I have gone thru numerous tires, so put GOOD tires on it. Gas mileage stinks! I bought it for the warranty but after 5 yrs the bumper to bumper is gone and now all the little problems are creeping up. Back seat doesn't slide, etc.

Only driven my new minivan a few weeks, but it handles much better than my Caravan ever did. All the features inside are easily accessible and the kids love the rear air features and the 12v plugs throughout the van that they can plug their games and stereos into. Was pleasantly surprised by the luxury car mats that came with it- even for both back seat areas, and the first aid kit was also a great find! It is a great van for the money and since I saved more than $8,000, I can use that money for a vacation!

Bought a Kia Sedona new 3 years ago, have taken it in for repairs 15 times, dealer and Kia don't listen to their customers and the minute you hit 60,000 miles you pay for repairs and most parts can only be found at dealer! I want others to beware of the continuous problems they face when buying a KIA. They sell for a low cost, but you need to be prepared to have your vehicle out of commission several times per year without warning.

Only 7800 miles on my van. Comfortable/feels solid. Steering pulls to right. Van struggles to stop due to heavy vehicle weight. I don't have ABS. Engine makes "whirring" noise...Kia mechanic said "it's normal...power steering making that noise"...it is annoying, especially when vehicle is cold. Van handles good in bad weather. Removeable seats are heavy. Lot's of interior room. Interior plastic scratches easily. Roof rack is cheap/weak. Hopefully this van will pass the test of time (build quality). Overall, this van performs as advertised and it appears to be the best minivan value for the dollar.

We purchased this after comparing it to the Honda and Toyota. Dollar for dollar, it was just a better deal. I was worried about reliablity but after owning it since we purchased it new in 2003 and taking several family long distance vacations, I have never regretted my choice. I bought this for the wife to haul the kids, but when I'm home I opt to take the Kia over my Honda because of how comfortable it is to drive. The fit and finish on the interior is top notch. (I have the EX with leather) and the power to pass is excellent.

We have an EX fully loaded. We use it for long distance travel only because we take a lot of trips that are over 500 miles or more. You said gas mil. is bad, but traveling on the highway at 65 to 75 mph, we get at least 25 mpg We never really use it for city driving. What made us choose this type of van was the seats were more comfortable than other vans we tried ( we have leather) and the road side assistance / 5 year-100000 mile warranty can't be beat. Besides I think it is a better looking minivan than Honda, Dodge or Ford. It does ride heavy, but it rides smooth and is a very quiet vehicle.

This is my third minivan, a geat value for money if you don't drive a lot of miles. Gas mileage is never been over 16 MPG, even if I drive all freeway. My Toyota Previa with a supercharge engine got better mileage than this van. Little trunk space. If I have to do it again, I would probably think twice about buying the current model. The van needs to go on a diet at 4900 pounds, it's to heavy. causing the gas mileage problem. Other than the gas mileage and little trunk space its a good van.

We just drove our Sedona home from the dealer and glad we made the choice to buy one. I traded in a 98 Honda Odyssey with 100,000 miles. Don't get me wrong, Honda's are great, and yes I will miss the magic rear seats(alot) but we researched for a full month, drove all the minivans out there, and for all that we got, plus some, the value was there. We added an entertainment system for the kids which is great! and still thousands less than the new odyssey. This car is chock full of features that you can't find elsewhere for the price. Hope that Kia stands behind all they say, because if they do, this will probably be one of our best car investments yet.

My wife and I bought the Sedona EX, loaded, about a month ago. So far, we love the van. We researched mini vans for approximately four weeks, looking at most models. Our final three were Honda, Kia and Chevy (due to supplier discount). We ultimately decided on the Kia because of options included at a reasonable price, the great exterior look with the two-tone paint, the safety rating and the warranty. Other than the lack of gas milage, we think the van is great so far. The Sedona is about as sporty as a mini van can get with the two-tone paint and the rear spoiler.

We have driven it from Virginia to Toronto and Montreal Canada with only good things on the trip. However two pet peeves are the loud noise from the colling fan and the knocking from the front right whell linkage. Waiting for factory fixes.

Gas mileage is horrible. The controls above the dashboard have no illumination at night so are hard to see. You don't know if you are opening the sunroof or the rear side window. The seats are removable but are extremely heavy to take in or out. I as a female could easily remove the seats in our previous Pontiac Transport, but cannot do it alone or at all with the Kia.

Friend suggested looking at Kia's. The wife and I went out on a Saturday to test drive only. We were so impressed, we bought. It was my first time to buy a new vehicle. I am very skeptical and was totally against buying a "new" vehicle (to much to pay). But I could not believe the bang for the buck with the Sedona. I was impressed with the feel of the drive, very solid yet comfortable. Dealer said Kia is trying to get into the market. Well - I'm sold.

We love driving long distances in our van. We have made several trips from NY to FL and have been sastisfied with its performance in all road conditions. It carries a large load while mainting an excellent ride. Gas mileage doesn't vary much traveling with a load at high speeds. One of its greatest features is that it burns regular gas. Service has been excellent at Atlantic Auto Mall. Prior to this car, we drove Ford Taurus wagons for more than 15 years.

I replaced my Buick Park Avenue with 125,000 miles , with this KIA. The Buick suffered a sudden crack in the transmission flywheel. I found no difference in ride quality and the fit and finish frmo my Buick to my KIA. The acceleration is excellent too. My Buick got about 30 MPG and my KIA get 25 MPG. But with the extra seating options and front and rear a/c I love the KIA more. I like the fact I saved more than $ 15,000 off the Buick Price. I saved so much money I bought my wife a car too! A KIA SPECTRA !

how can you compare other mini vans to the sedona? others are thousands not 1,2,3,4,5, but upwards of $6000 or more.and the warranty is unmatched, that 7/100,000 has deductables and other restrictions you need to read the fin print. sedona you get what you see. exelent vehichle.

We purchased our van a few wmonths ago and this is a wonderful van at a great price. we have the LX model and this comes with excellent features. Rear air/heat six speaker stereo, dual sliding doors and excellent capacity to store and carry everything from passengers to equiptment. Great pick up with the 195HP engine and a quite smooth ride. the only negative would be the gas usage. For this price and all the options. I would recommend this van to all families on a budget looking for a great deal!

Overall, Sedona is a very good van. Quality of components are good, drives well. Never felt slow. Interior comfort is superior compared to most minivans available in the market now. seats can be arranged many different ways. Night time driving is very comfortable. Headlights are very bright. Visibility is excellent even with the rear seat headrests in place. Only negative thing i can say about the van is the fuel economy. Trip range is approximately 270 miles on average on full tank of regular Gasoline. Not good. Averages around 16 mpg.
