First 1000 Miles in the Books - Updated
I’m having a great experience so far. I have the 6 seater Land trim in black. It’s roomy, has great pick up, and whisper quiet inside. There are a few features that take a little getting used to (climate controls) with the placement and functionality, but you quickly adapt and I’ve found everything to be very easy to work with. We recently took the EV9 from San Diego to the mountains for a snow weekend and it was amazing. The perfect road trip car for a family of 4 with tons of room to spare. The adaptive cruise control is incredible and the interior quality makes for a very comfortable experience. My only issue is the frunk. I wish it was a little bigger, but it’s by no means a deal killer. We also have the Model Y and the EV9 is head over heels the family favorite. 6000 mile update - I’ve had the EV9 for 6 months now and we’re still loving it. There’s really no comparison with the Model Y. The Kia is more comfortable, has smoother ride, and is more spacious. One of the nicest cars I’ve ever owned. We did had an issue with the battery, however. An issue that seems to be fairly common with Kia EVs. After a normal day of driving, I woke up the next morning to find that the 12v was totally drained and needed to be jump started. I took it to the dealer who kept it for a few days and determined it needed a software update. I picked it up a few days later and haven’t had any issues since. A minor inconvenience. One of the things I love most about the EV9 is the interior quality. Coming from a Mercedes E350, I was nervous that the Kia would be a downgrade. I’ve been pleasantly surprised. The Land model gives you the option for the higher end brown interior which I highly recommend. I added a few accessories as well. All weather mats and roof racks. The roof racks were a little pricey - $700. There’s cheaper options, but I went with the OEMs. The roof racks give the car a really nice look. My favorite feature is still the adaptive cruise control system. Although the infotainment system takes some getting used to, it’s very intuitive and easy to pick up.

I *love* this car. It fits everyone. It drives beautifully, smoothly, and comfortably. The sound system needs a little bass-cranking, and then its wonderful. The kids don't fight about the back row for road-trips, because of the charging outlets and a high-quality of seat-comfort. It charges so fast, it's almost funny (I've actually had to get up from my moment of zen because I've hit 80% faster than expected). The acceleration is wicked, the road silence is almost eerie, and everything just works. I've driven sporty subarus and huge landcruisers around the world, and I've never been as happy to get in the car for a morning commute as in this one.

Great EV, Surprisingly pleased
Very happy with decision to Lease this car for my wife and roadtrips up california coast. Needed a 3 row. I am a tall driver 6'4 and have alot of extra room even with rear facing car seat behind me. Very happy with purchase. Lease payments almost $400 less than the competing Riving SUV that i compared too. Wind gets 280-300 real world miles on every charge including freeway driving. Surprisingly, i am very pleased. The Wind bench is really nice because most of the time the 3rd row is folded down and cargo space is great.

Superb
I’ve had the vehicle now for 6-months. I have experienced unquestionable competence on the road. I have towed with it. Hauled it full of people, loaded it with pavers and stone. It’s been in rain, sleet and snow. Ive charged in level 2 and 3 chargers without issue. Using the digital key makes it even more interesting. I literally leave the keys at home and use my phone exclusively. So many features, super fun. You’ll have a good time.

Would be great but for one unfortunate flaw
This SUV is excellent as a package. Alas the day I brought it home I experienced a steering vibration beginning around 70mph. Googling it will reveal many have this problem, and despite dealers doing tire changes and balancing, they cannot resolve it. It’s terrible to have such a flaw in a $74,000 brand new car. Kia should do an immediate recall to fix the issue. But for this problem, I would find the EV9 pretty much perfect. And I say this coming from an Audi Q7. It’s roomy, solid in structure, generally rides well and has an amazing powertrain that is powerful and efficient. Please Kia fix this vibration issue.

Many daily annoyances not readily obvious at test
What was not obvious at the time of test drive was that there are few ways to create default driving settings and as a result I have to push MANY buttons, pointlessly scan my finger, and swipe through menus each time I start the vehicle. It is maddening there is no default for full brake regeneration, seat and steering warmers, infotainment settings (it defaults to a generic screen and forces me to select or swipe to the desired menu); it has a fingerprint sensor, which seems like a good idea if my phone as key fails or I do not have a working fob, but the system requires me to scan each time I start the vehicle and the scanner fails far more often than it captures my print the first time. If I do not scan, apple CarPlay does not usually connect, and without a registered fingerprint, I do not have the option to start the car without a key. To my knowledge there is nothing in the enormously useless manual to address any of this. The lack of defaults is infuriating each time I start the car. Also annoying are the plastic wheel covers. I am not sure how but one is already cracked at month two. Also on the negative, I experienced a mysterious 12v battery failure during the first month and received a less than satisfying response and diagnosis from Kia. Specifically they ambiguously said 3rd party apps on my phone were pinging the vehicle repeatedly overnight and draining the 12v battery. The only apps I use with the car are Kia connect and Apple CarPlay when driving. As a result I have little faith in the reliability of this vehicle. On the plus, the EV9 is exceptionally well appointed with many competitive options. It is large, spacious, quiet, fast, and comfortable. I would not recommend.

Almost Perfect SUV
I wanted to buy Tesla for years but every time I drive it I couldn't justify to buy it. I have rented Model-X and Model-3 and test drove model-y. When I learned about EV9 I liked it on paper and watched all youtube videos. But it was bit expensive for my budget. I decided to take a test drive and there was the moment, I liked it so much I didn't care about money. I was buying lite long range but once I also drove land so I bought wind to get extra power and awd. So far I have driven it for 1000 miles and my love for the car is increasing day by day. It charges faster than Tesla superchargers. It is very quite almost comparable to my mercedes SUV. I do have few complaints though, I paid 65k for it but it doesn't have seat memory. I would like it to lock itself if the key is not around. Inbuilt GPS is good overall but last 100feet directions are annoying. Although wireless android auto works flawlessly. The GPS doesn't show the arrival SoC in estimations. The HDA-II works fine for most highways. But lane keeping on non-highway is hit and miss.

Great replacement for my 2019 Pilot
Amazing battery life - i have Land trim, AWD. Getting almost 300 miles on a 100% charge. Super smooth ride, great balance, great cargo space w/3rd row folded, comfortable 3rd row, great kiddo and kiddo gear hauler, put cargo box on top for all the ski gear and easy 5 kids to ski all day, on one charge. Use regen for hills and switch to level 0 for super-efficient rwd on flats - saves me 20% of my charge. On/off switch and software takes getting used too, but after 3 months/3000 miles driving, no service issues at all. Excellent build quality. Will likely buy at end of lease.

Unfixable vibration 70 mph and above
I bought a new 2024 EV9 Wind AWD in August 2024. I noticed a vibration at highway speed around 70 mph and higher. The dealer has road force balanced the Kumho tires, changed out 2 of the out of spec tires, then swapped out the Kumhos for Hankook tires. Sadly the vehicle still vibrates. I called a different Kia dealer who said they're aware of the problem, and Kia does not have afix. Waiting to hear back from a lemon law attorney for my options. I filed a claim with Kia America. They sent a Kia Tech that travels around the region and attempts to fix issues the dealers are unable to. He road force balanced the tires, and did a 4 wheel alignment. The vibration is now worse. I accepted a buyback offer Kia America today. So sad. I love the car except for the vibration which is unacceptable for the price.
The EV You Didn't Know Existed
We already own a Tesla Model Y (and love it!). When we were looking to replace an older vehicle (Mazda Cx-5, 2014), I wanted a larger EV, preferably an SUV. I thought I had very few choices - either a very expensive Rivian or the Cybertruck. The Kia EV-9 was not a model I was aware of. After taking a test drive, I realized the EV9 was better than my Tesla in many, many ways. The size is perfect, roughly the same as my old Ford Explorer. The ride is incredible, both quiet and powerful. The styling is excellent, I think it looks quite a bit like the new Range Rover. I've had the EV 9 for about a month; it's more comfortable than the most luxurious vehicles I've ever driven, quieter, more powerful, and just put together better. The one area I'm concerned about is the supercharging networks because the non-Tesla networks are not as reliable. However, Kia is going to get access to Tesla charging early in 2025 which will officially check all my blocks.

Starship Enterprise
The EV9 provides everything today’s traveler needs. Amazing appearance, comfort, safety and capability just to name a few. Oh and did I mention the technology is awesome. At first it is pretty overwhelming considering all of its features, but that’s not to say as soon as you know the basics you can operate it with ease. This vehicle is a dream to drive and you will take it down the road with ease. Electric travel is something we all will have to become accustomed to, but it’s the way of the future. We must leave fossil fuels in the past.

Really disappointing
My new KIA was in the shop 16 days in the first month and stalled in the middle of the road when the driver hit the brakes to avoid a crash. The brakes worked well but the car would only idle after that. It also broke our home Telsa charger when we tried to use the converter. The dealer could care less. We have also had a very hard time finding chargers that work.

Everything and More
Great driving position with adjustable everything. Spacious and comfortable. So far I like practically everything about the vehicle. The only minus would be the software for the vehicle especially the route planning. Hopefully that gets OTA updates for future improvements.

EV9
This is my first EV and I really like it. Considering it is the entry level model it has a lot of features and a nice ride. I wanted the second row bench seats and the light was the only model that met that need. My only regret is that it only gets 230 miles for a full charge. It's great for local driving but since they only want you to charge it to 80% the range is too limited for longer trips.

Windshield wiper sucks
The wiper will stuck during snow storm and ice. It is very dangerous that you have to drive without wiper. I have to stop several times on the highway to clean the windshield and wiper, still not working.
Quiet As a Lamb
I love the quiet ride. The great mileage is unsurpassed in my book. There are many charging stations to go to. The ride is very comfortable. There is good storage in the rear area. It’s earning the number one ranking is well earned.

Good car, but still a Kia
I bought the Kia EV9, GT-Line 2 weeks ago. It has spent the last week in the shop because a few days into ownership of this brand new car IT HAD A MAJOR ELECTRICAL FAILURE! The car will not charge, and the dealership has to fly someone in to try to diagnose it. I've been a Tesla owner for 6 years, and have never experienced even remotely a serious issue like this. Until the car died, it had some nice features. Lots of bells and whistles. It's a big car! However, it's infotainment computer is light years behind what Tesla has done. Do yourself a favor, get a Tesla Model Y and call it a day. I would not recommend this car, because in the end you are still dealing with Kia, a brand that has not been associated with reliability. I can attest to this stereotype now.

Amazing Acceleration
As the title suggests, this car is extremely fast. It’s not the most agile car, but I knew that going in. It has lots of bells and whistles and has been very reliable in the first 5000 miles. Overall, good car.

I have been loving the EV 9 GT line so far. No issues knock on wood. Easy to charge and a blast to drive. Every day I get into it I’m excited. The comfort package probably isn’t worth 2k though.

Best three row EV SUV in the market
I purchased an EV9 GT-Line in summer 2024, and it’s undoubtedly the best car in the market! Driving consistently in economy mode, I achieve an impressive 3.2 miles per kWh, which is remarkable for a three-row SUV in this segment. With a single charge, I get more than 270 miles, making it both practical and efficient. The car is luxurious and packed with an array of features. Kia Connect is incredibly intuitive and adds great value to the overall experience. In just 16 weeks, I’ve covered 8,000 miles, and it’s been flawless. There’s no other three-row SUV I would consider replacing it with—Kia has truly set a new benchmark in this category.

Amazing family SUV
We are in our second year of ownership and we could not be more pleased. This vehicle has met all of our needs and has been a joy to drive. We even tow a small travel trailer! We said that when we could get anywhere within 2 5 hours with out needed to stop and charge that it would work and it has not disappointed. Anyone looking for a versatile 7 row suv this is the one.
