Surprisingly Great Tech Package update

I have owned BMW Convertible, 5 Series M Sport, Acura TSX & many Toyota's & Honda's. The 2017 Cadenza is the most comfortable car I have ever owned. Full of High Tech in Tech package. Smooth ride, excellent seats (better than Volvo). August 2018 update To date this is the best car I have ever owned. No repairs in 1st year and 21,000 miles. No adjustments of any sort. By comparison my BMW’s needed 3-6 in first year. Tread life on tires is good but tires are too noisy once broken in. Seats are superbly comfortable. Averaging 27 MPG with 50/50 split on highway vs city driving. List price for my car was just under $40000, got it out the door for under $33000. What a great car & what a bargain. Have only less than 10 of them on the road in last year. Nice! Update 7/19 Now @ 45000 miles & all is well. MPG still 27. Zero problems. Seats comfortable. Occasionally have issue with rear view camera engaging. Zero repairs. Best car I ever owed. 2 years & counting! January 2020 update. 57,000 miles & counting. Still zero problems in 30 months. Still averaging 27.1 total mpg. Very reliable, comfortable, safe & efficient. Front seats are the best, most comfortable one around. We love this car. Now 65000 miles. Zero problems. No repairs. 27.1 total MPG. Did put new battery in 7/20 ($295) Update January 2021. Now have 70,000 miles on car, mostly highway. Mileage dropped to 26 MPG due to more local driving in last year. Backup camera on occasion still is slow to engage. On occasion the outside temp will register 32 degrees when it might be 55. Will reset in about 5-10 minutes. Still no repairs after 3 1/2 years of ownership and 70,000 miles which is amazing for any car. Maintenance is inexpensive and done right the first time. I love this car. How many people can say that after owning for this amount of time? Of all 16 new cars this is my best one. Update 7/21 75,000 & counting. Owned now 4 years. Still 0 repairs or adjustments. Original brakes & rotors still going strong. Occasional glitch with backup camera no image. Still best car I have ever owned. 1/2022 update. 84,090 miles & going strong. Still zero repairs. Safe, reliable, comfortable. Sorry to see Kia no longer makes the Cadenza. Great car. LAST UPDATE: I sold this car in May 2022. Best car I have ever owned. NO REPAIRS in 5 years & 86,000 miles. Original break pads & rotors. Just changed tires, fluids as needed. Paid $33000 out the door in 2017 & sold to dealer (not as trade in) for $19,500. Only depreciated 40% in 5 years. What a great car but bought 2022 BMW X5 45e. UPDATE June 2023: After 90,000 miles & zero repairs I sold this car. List price was $40,000 in 2017. I paid $33,000 out the door. Dealer bought it from me for $19,500. Never had to make the first repair. Still has original brakes, pads & rotors. The best car I have ever owned.

Gotta Have A Cadenza!!!!!

As my lease on my 2015 Chevy Malibu was almost up, I started car shopping and I HATE car salesmen. I looked at several cars including buying a Malibu, Sonata, Cadillac and more, and I had a salesmen suggest I drive a new 2017 Cadenza, which I did. I am glad that I listed to him. I loved the ride, but I was not going to pay $46K for the top of the line model. The lease deal they had seemed great, but at the end of the day, it was still way too expensive. I knew I wanted a 2017 Limited and preferably white. I found a 2017 used (8200 miles) exactly like I wanted and I saved almost $17k from what it would have cost new. I LOVE THIS CAR. The ride is great, the looks are great and where I was concerned about my gas mileage (the Malibu averaged about 26 mpg around town and I got 32 mpg on the highway), this Cadenza is right there even though it's rated for only 20-28. I drive it like there is an egg under my accelerator and once I get it up to speed, I just hold the gas pedal in place, I don't have to keep feeding it like I did on my Malibu. On a recent highway trip I averaged 37 MPG (YES 37 MPG) and I am getting about 26 mpg around town. What more could a buyer ask for? Great Deal!! Great Looking car!!! Great MPG!!! If you are looking for a nice upscale luxury type sedan, you need to look at the Cadenza. I would highly suggest trying to find a used one and save yourself mega $$$$$.

Luxury at a fair price

In the past 13 years we have owned a 325ci, LR2, Volt, and still own a 2005 Boxster. Avoiding the current SUV trend we were looking for a comfortable sedan with luxury qualities for a fair price. For those who balk at Kia, their vehicles built today are not what they first sold years ago. Remember Datsun, Toyota, and Honda had poor quality cars for years. We recently completed a 5,000 mile, 3 week road trip which included a variety of roads and conditions. I never had any driver fatigue or issues with 600 mile days and actually enjoyed the driving experience that was at all times comfortable, relaxed, and quiet. When power was needed, the engine delivered without haste. It’s not a sport sedan, but really, most driving experiences are controlled by speed limits, so 0 to 60 times are senseless measurements. The Boxster is great for spirited driving. It handles amazingly well but it is not enjoyable for long distance trips especially on crowded highways filled with truck traffic. The Cadenza holds its own in all traffic. It is large enough to be visible by other vehicles and includes the latest safety and infotainment technology to keep you aware in traffic. We average 26.5 mpg in mixed driving and 31 mpg highway only, regular gas. In 18 months of ownership we have not had any service issues other than oil changes and tire rotation. We’re keeping this well made car.

Cost of car 40,000. Total discounts 12,200.00 Chiseled another 400.00 Excellent looks inside and out. Quiet interior. V6 engine 8 speed transmission. Plenty of power. The quality of this car was voted number 1 by JD Powers. Five year 60k bumper to bumper. 10 year 100k on power train. That’s the best in the industry. Any one who buys another brand is flat out foolish and is losing money.

Love my Cadenza!

I was in the market for a new vehicle and went back and forth between looking at small SUVs and cars. I test drove severaal vehicles including a Hyundai Azera. I was close to purchasing the Azera and while looking for the true market on edmunds I started researching comparable vehicles and found the Kia Cadenza. I found a local dealer and test drove the vehicle, I was impressed with not only the style but the technology and safety features for the price; I would’ve had to pay extra on most the vehicles I had test drove before. I opted for the limited trim because of all the features it had including the reddish brown interior leather. I would’ve given it 5 stars except it didn’t have remote start which was a little disappointing but not enough to pass up on this car, I love my Cadenza!

My current Kia ride is the 2016 Cadenza Limited model I can't say enough about the ride comfort / technology / especially the navigation (WOW) drove south visiting 10 States 8500 miles using Kia dealerships for occasional maintainence. Previously drove a Benz 350. The Cadenza is superior or as good in all areas of operation (especially service $$$) lacking only all wheel drive, but for the $20,000 price difference I don't need all wheel drive..Purchased the Cadenza last day of year 2016 saved me $10,000..Great deal... Will wait for Dec 30/31 of 2020

One things that still blows my mind is that I can be comfortable driving the car and still have rear room for passengers! Has more leg room in front and rear then I thought it would. Although the rear seats don't fold down, it does have what they call a ski access hole. I wish it was AWD, but I know how to drive FWD in the winter months. It came with Michelin tires from factory, so that definitely helps with a good set of tires. I am leasing with intent to purchase out in the end. I love the way the car looks and performs! I love that it has a V6 engine. Overall, I am definitely impressed with how the car looks, performs and of course the quality of the vehicle. KIA definitely is on the right track.

I bought this 2017 Cadenza in March of 2018. I think Kia made too many of them, and a lot of them ended up unsold in Florida. The car had an MSRP just under 40K and the lease payment was $325 plus tax for the Technology version. This is an astounding price for a very competent car. Warning: this was the perfect storm: too many not so popular cars and 4 months after the new model year (unchanged) was introduced. My advice is to have three or four different cars on your radar, and be flexible. Sometimes manufacturers and dealers combine to lose money just to move the older cars off the lot, and that's what happened here.

The ride is smooth and comfortable. It has all of the tech features you could want in a car. Too many to comment on here, but you will not be disappointed. The premium sound system plays quite loudly with no distortion! I've noticed a slight lag in acceleration but a nice reserve of power the moment it engages. The power of it's 6 cylinder, 290 hp is just right for this size sedan, It is disappointing to me that the Cadenza has been discontinued in this country. Of course, that is due to low sales. But then, when have you ever seen the Cadenza advertised? It has all the qualities to compete with the popular Avalon from Toyota, and I wish KIA had pushed it more. In summary, I love this car! It's ride and handling beat the Optima/K-5, is steadier and responsive. I remain a "SEDAN FAN" in this era of SUV's because they handle and ride better..

My opinion on this 2019 Kia Cadenza has not change. I love this car, the way it drives, it's comfortable and Ioaded with safety features. I have had this car for over a year now with no problems other than the regular maintenance. Like I said in my previous review I would not hesitate to purchase another Cadenza.

The Cadenza is a joy in every possible way. There is simply not another car at anywhere near this price point that has all the benefits of this one. The one caveat I would offer is this: do you want a big car? Seems simple, but if you're used to driving something smaller it definitely provides a different experience. And I love it. If you are one of those who still likes a large sedan, with plenty of room and comfort for five, this is your car. Run, don't walk, to the nearest Cadenza, drive it, and you will more than likely end up owning it. Even technology from 2017, in this car, is astonishing. It is extremely comfortable, very quick, comfortable, and gives you a feeling of security and safety. I read a lot about cars and have wanted a Cadenza for years. I just purchased one, and I could not be happier. I have owned Audis, Cadillacs, Acuras, and BMWs, among others, and no car has been a better choice than the Cadenza. Buy one and thank me later! :)

A really good car; had a 2017 Premium with luxury pkg. Missed some of the good stuff and traded it for a Limited, same year, after a month. Really enjoy the added toys. Only been driving this one for a week, but think it is a great car and glad I made the latest move. Hard to find but definitely worth the effort. I have now owned this car for 6 months and have a problem which Kia has not been able to solve. I would prefer to see the outcome of this situation before I continue to review. The problem is the high beam assist does not work. This, I found, is a pre-production car made for the car shows, and the high beam assist was never added to the car, and it cannot be added. I spent 5 months trying to get the problem fixed and cannot. I did get some nice compensation from Kia for my wasted time and effort. Now having other headlite problems. There always seems to be problems getting parts, as the car is built in Korea and the have to get some of their parts from Korea. Get some strange noises the Kia Tech says are normal with current EPA requirements. Hard Michlein tires made for a hard ride. Have put on Perilli tires and it rides like a whole different, newer, better car. 65 MPH on the interstate, it gets 36 MPG. Despite its problems, it is a good car and I enjoy driving it. Would consider buying another. Thank you.

Maybe it's just my car - and I know it has JD Power initial quality award for the segment - but I'm having a few issues that started when I initially got the car. The door rattles, the dashboard makes noises in the heat - occasionally the temperature gauge starts out showing an exterior temp of 32 degrees even when it's well over 70, and sometimes the rear camera stays on ten second past pushing the car out of reverse into drive. The car handles ok, acceleration is poor though. Excellent use of space and nice panoramic roof... No SMS notifications in infotainment system which my last two cars had... This is my first Kia, and I'm disappointed - it will be my last - like I said before I was debating between a 2 and 3 year lease - I'm glad I went with the two year.

The Cadenza is Kia’s near luxury sedan and does a great job at that. It’s got everything you could think of needing at the Limited trim level. AEB, adaptive cruise, LDW, heads up display, heated/ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, wireless charging, Apple/android audio, Nav, tons of room, etc. and it’s $46k sticker is 20k less than a similarly equipped 5 series or E class. Now, onto the issues. Less than 15k miles and already have the wheels flaking. Some rattling issues and have noticed the transmission making some hard shifts and being in the wrong gear. It’s definitely not the quickest among its competitors. It’s already had one recall for the engine thermostat. The panoramic moonroof is awesome until you open it. The wind diffuser that pops up ruins the look of the car. The somewhat odd looking Z in the lights is a look that doesn’t match the car or any car. Overall, excellent value for the money. If they work out the kinks, fix some questionable exterior design (z lights), and add some power, they have a world class sedan.

Stylish Quality Limited Cadenza

This limited trim is a classy design for both exterior and interior. The quality is obvious when you look inside and sit. The Black exterior always draws compliments since the day I bought it over 4 years ago. It is best for long drives or cargo (it actually is wide and big in the back. but no folding rear seats for the trunk--too bad. Also it does steer like a full size sedan and not easy to see all around. But it has all the sensors and more. Especially I like the Heads up view of the speed on the front windshield. The posted speed limits also show next to it. The sound system has a digital sound enhancement that really works well. It has everything the Audi and Mercedes have and more.

I've had my 2017 Cadenza for almost two years. Good engine, transmission, and loaded with most luxury-car level features. Nicely styled and lovely leather. As it has aged, though, the pano sunroof regularly rattles loudly, the infotainment system has several gremlins, ride is meh, poor choice of tires for winter weather driving which creates fear. I leased it because Consumer Reports gave it a very high (80+) rating which has plummeted into the low 60's. Nope. Not again. Done with sedans and Kia. Waiting patiently to turn it in at the end of the lease. Depreciation is horrendous so I'm stuck until September, 2020.

The 2018 Cadenza has every you could want in a car, as far as style, technolagy, and comfort. The only complaint i have is the slow responce on the computer, and it is not that user friendly. There are too many steps between different functions and almost imposible to do while driving.

I've had my 2017 Cadenza for about two years. It's been quite reliable with no major problems. I've had two factory recalls for minor sensor failures. And, the pano sunroof has a lot of rattles when open or in the vent position. I'm waiting patiently to say good bye to it. Not that it's lousy car, I'm done with low-riding sedans. The ride is not great. Winter driving is challenging due to the poor choice of tires. It will make a cheap, good used car for the next owner as the depreciation rate on Korean cars is very steep. Update: I dumped this pig 11/30/19 for a 2020 Lexus NX which I love. Good riddance to Kia and sedans.

We have a Hyundai Genesis in the family and that has a 5.0 Kia has a 3.3 L which is fun because I’ve driven both of course the 5.0 is faster, but the Kia is quick in sport mode.

I was shocked at how comfortable and fast this car is. I'm not typically a fast driver, but when you have to get up and go in this thing, its as fast any any car I've had. The inside is spacious, comfortable and quiet. I love this car. The drive modes are as described and the trunk is a great size. Its a great large, but not too large size car that is great for either a couple or a family. Gas mileage is much better than I thought also. It also has great sporty lines that prevent it from looking boring or like another rental car. The chrome tip dual exhausts are an awesome feature!

Another piece of junk from Kia

The car radio goes out when you hit a bump then turns back on when you hit another bump. It’s been in service over 16 times for the radio and leased the vehicle brand new! The car also rusted out the brake calipers at 30k miles and the manufacturer warranty doesn’t cover any of this. Not to mention I’ve talked with several other Kia owners and they all have the same problem I have. Kia service center repair facilities also charges for the fixes on the vehicle but the problems still exist. Not to mention when I went to lease the vehicle my salesman went from pricing the vehicle originally at $709/month to $400/month which is what I finally agreed to, and all of this with the same credit score, same job, and same down payment! It’s like if you’re stupid Kia will charge you in excess! It’s like they especially practice predatory lending, at least that’s what my salesman Dylan tried to do to me. Overall the car looks good but it’s junk!

I bought my cadenza, loving it. But my phone never worked, we tried so many things from the day I bought it , they told me finally it was my phone, it was in the shop so many times my job is me on my phone all day in my car so hands free was very important to me in any vehicle drive. That is and was a requirement to me. I work in the Healthcare field. Finally, the manager told me it was the car, that several cadenza had issues in the hands-free they are and were aware of the problem but kia was not willing to fix the problem. Not till someone gets hurt, and they are forced to fix it. At the time we had 2 vehicles from kia. We returned one, I've sold the other. I would NEVER buy a vehicle from someone who does NOT stand behind their product.
