Needs a little more design work

A little tight after driving a Dodge Caravan for almost 6 years. Interior storage does not compare nor does console design. Brake and gas pedal are too close to each other, could easily depress gas while using brakes. Thirsty at the pump does not say enough.

The body is rugged. The interior of the Jeep Liberty Limited is comfortable, but can be a little small for anyone over 5'10". It offers power heated seats as well as heated side view mirrors and engine block.

Hunk of junk

I bought this Jeep with high hopes. Boy that got shattered. This thing has had more problems than I can count. First it's not the dealerships mechanics fault but DC. They should give all repair facilities the equipment they need to fix them. Jeep has been in dealership more times than I ever could imagine. Took 11 months to fix the no start problem. Discovered it to be bad fuel injector. Had many parts replaced as a guess as to what was wrong. Terrible vehicle. I average 19 MPG. When first bought got upper 20'S and 30+ on highway. After fixed now its 19!

Much more good than bad

Although I have not owned this vehicle long, I love it. With gas prices as they are, it is not a gas saver, however, I find that I get the same gas mileage as I got with my 6cyl sedan, yet have more room. This vehicle has a smooth ride and I don't have the fears I have had in other SUVs. I have been easily able to fit 3 car seats in the back. I have found that oversized people are a little uncomfortable riding in this vehicle. I have also found that in heavy rains, the highest speed of the wipers is not fast enough. It is also an inconvenience that you have to get the replacement for the rear wiper from the dealership as it is an nonstandard 13 1/2 inch blade. The seats stain easily

Long Term CRD

Bought new back in April 2005. Have had the normal problems that all CRD owners have had, including 3 EGR replacements. It is a great vehicle for every day use and for some off- road fun as well. I have 500 miles left on my extended 100k warranty, so I'm hoping all will stay well. Most recent problem was my 4wd/2wd sensor going bad - said I was in 4wd, but wasn't. I have learned not to get upset with the dealer when there are issues, but rather DC. I think they put this vehicle out, but weren't ready to support it with stocked parts. I will hit 100k by this weekend, and even with all the CRD issues, I would still buy another, but hoping they put a diesel in the Wrangler Unlimited!

Jeep Liberty CRD Diesel

I purchased this Liberty used with 65K on it. Drove it home 350 mi. Ran great for the first 3K miles and then trouble hit. I had an oil leak that turned into a need for a new turbo, then a new thermostat. Great truck but the dealer can't get parts very fast. No parts available from the warehouse, so parts must come from other dealer inventories, if they will give them up. If you can, stay away from the Liberty CRD.

A bit disillusioned with gas mileage

Ow, I came from a Nissan Altima with a 4 cylinder, 5 speed, 155 hp, getting about 30 MPG around town. At 2,200 miles, and no different driving, getting about 15 with this unit. I am looking forward to doing some off-roading in Moab, if I can afford to leave the city driving this. Additionally, 2 recalls since I purchased 7 weeks ago.

Great Buy

An all around great vehicle and absolutely exceptional for the price! The cargo area is huge and it rolls over curbs and potholes like they aren't even there. There is no question I will buy another one when this one wears out. (as long is gas is not $10/gal)

It's ok, but not great.

It doesn't get the mileage promised, and I don't like the shortened cargo space. The extra headroom is actually a bother. I have more trouble putting kayaks and bicycles on top of the car versus the old Cherokee. I like the design, not the height, and it performs well and dependably; just like a Jeep should.
