2005 Jeep Liberty - Enjoying the Ride
I wanted a ride that was 1) economical -- darn those gas prices 2) affordable 3) a small SUV with with big SUV luxuries. It's the 2nd time I have owned a Jeep and gotten great performance.
Repeat Liberty buyer
I bought my 2005 Liberty in Dec.2004 to replace my 2002 Liberty. I did not expect to do this since I had bought the 2002 as a compromise vehicle because my Audi could not navigate a rough trail to a cabin in New Hampshire due to low ground clearance. To my surprise, I got to like the Liberty (although not its thirsty habits) and once the brakes and tires were upgraded in the 2005, I could not resist renewing the experience. The lights are much better in the 2005 also. Some say the cargo volume is small. However, I got a full dresser, nightstand, mirror and various other bedroom items inside the Jeep with all doors and windows closed and put the two headboards on the roof. No problem!

small problems that add up
Bought the jeep in 2005 for 21000 does not hold value at all it is worth less than half what I paid 4 years ago. Brakes squeak even though I got the expensive replacements. It is unstoppable in 4wd snow don't stand a chance that's a plus. Had 2 recalls fixed 1 with transmission 1 with ignition. I will not own one again even though it is semi reliable. I should have got one 3 years old and saved 10000 dollars.
Great little ride
I LOVE MY LIBERTY! I traded in a luxury SUV (Lexus GX470) for this little baby and I couldn't be happier. While nothing rides like a Lexus, the Liberty is smooth to drive -- not to mention fun fun FUN. The sound system is terrific, there is plenty of room, it's sturdy, rugged and has great personality. Makes my day just starting it up.
I LOVE MY JEEP LIBERTY!
It is a great little SUV; fun to drive, plenty of room unless you have a lot of kids - I'm retired. Handles well, lots of EXTRAS on mine: power sunroof, SIRIUS radio, 6 CD changer, AM/FM, display of tire pressure and lots more on the compass and temp computerized display. The V6 3.7 engine is plenty for this baby. I LOVE it ... and my last car was a Cadillac Eldorado, which I put 140K miles on. I can't say enough about my Jeep Liberty Limited.
I'm sold on Jeeps
I have the Rocky Mountain edition of the 2004 Jeep Liberty. LOVE IT! Handles great. Moves when you want it to move. Drove like a dream in a foot and a half of snow. My wife drives this vehicle more than I do. But I love it so much I am buying another Jeep for myself.
Amazing!
I've had the Liberty for awhile now and I could not be happier with it. Every time that I drive it I'm happy with it and every time I see it I just have to smile! It's so cute!
Jeep-Chrysler does not care
I was originally impressed with the vehicle's fuel mileage and reliability. Then came the first recall to replace the lower ball joints, which was fine, at the same time the torque converter was replaced. This occurred at 12,000 miles, since then the liberty has been back in the shop 4 times, due to the transmission shifting rough, if at all. Each time the shop has failed to find a problem, which is convenient since it is still on warranty. The other major problem, was brake failure. It took taking back to the dealer 3 times before the problem was addressed. And the only reason it was fixed was because the service tech was almost in an accident due to no brakes.
Love our Jeep Liberty!!
We just bought a used Liberty and we love it! The back door is my favorite feature. It's comfortable to drive, there's plenty of power and gas mileage is good. It drives like a Jeep, not like a car, which is what we we wanted and were expecting. If you want a great little Jeep to take off road and to the store, get a Liberty! Buy American!
great vehicle
I have had my liberty for 2 years, and I love it. After I got it I read a lot of bad reviews, but I haven't had any problems with mine in that time. It has had nothing go out, or be replaced. I drive a lot, close to 30,000 a year or so too. I love the 4 wheel drive it works great, goes right through the snow or mud easily. I think it handles great, I like tight steering. Overall I would recommend it to anyone. It's pretty small, but it is a compact suv. And it rides a little rough. But I like that, it feels tough to me. Gas mileage isn't great, but again, that's to be expected. No complaints here, I'd buy one again anyday.
