Has been at the dealer 5 times for wind noise coming thru the windshield at high speeds. Applying for the Lemon Law to have Jeep replace the vehicle. Motor has cut off several times, taken to the dealer twice.

Love my Commander, except for a glitch!

I've owned my 2006 Commander for about 1 1/2 years and I love the ride. It was a big step up from my Mitsu Diamante. I needed something bigger for the growing family. The ride is so smooth. My girls love to go for a ride every night and fall asleep. The glitch is that recently I've been driving and the truck turns of by itself for no apparent reason, it'll turn back on when you restart it.

Commander is a gas hog.

This is overall the best driving SUV I've ever drove. The steering, ride, and power is excellent. I went from a 4wd Tahoe to the Commander, and thought the fuel economy would be better on the 2wd Commander, but it's not. This thing loves gas. Be very aware of the 13 miles per gallon city and 15 hwy that I'm getting. I would hate to see what a 4wd gets. The interior is comfortable, but it is hard to see behind you, and hard to see the blind spot on the side. The 3rd row seat stands very high when up. And take up alot of room when down. Did I mention the transmission problems?

Down and Out with Jeep

Purchased this SUV brand new for our growing family. Within weeks the windshield started whistling during highway driving. Vehicle stalled while driving on the highway and turning corners. Talk about scary ! Dealership replaced windshield to fix the whistle, however they could not figure out the problem with the engine stalling. Reported this issue to NTSB. Stylish however unreliable so I traded it in for a Toyota SUV. Buyer Beware.

Unique atyling. Outstanding ride for an SUV. Big and roomy for my three children. Performance is good for the 6 cylinder. This Jeep definitely is a head turner. But fuel mileage is HORRIBLE-16 MPG on the road and 14 around town. My 2000 4Runner got 20 MPG consistently.
