Service concern
I have had to sevice the check engine light 8 times in less than a year..Since there is an excellent warranty for Hyundais, I have no expense but my time and effort without my vehicle during these service times is almost not worth having the Santa Fe. I bought my Santa Ff for $22,000 at 459 $ payments

Although I have only owned this vehicle a few months, I am very satisfied so far. At this point my only complaint has been some hesitation and jerkiness when accelerating from a rolling start or sometimes from a standing start. This may have something to do with the electronic accelerator linkage. Mind you, I have not reported this to the dealer at this time, as the vehicle is hardly broken in and the vehicle is primarily driven in town. The vehicle is comfortable for me even though I am a large person at over 6 ft tall. I am still waiting for some gas milage improvement.
Great Vehicle, So far...
Purchased a 2004, 3.5, GLS AWD Santa Fe about a week ago. I'm sure we made the right choice. We looked at Ford Escape, Honda CRV, Tribute and RAV 4. None rode as comfortably. Very smooth handling. Feels solid, too. A few minor quibbles about the interior--the armrest is too low, the windshield's angle picks up some weird glare in certain sunlight conditions and the cup holders could be better placed. Of course if you've looked at the Santa Fe you know that gas mileage is terrible. But we liked the ride so much that we simply pledged to walk a little more and drive a little less to conserve some fuel.
So far so good!!
My lovely wife and I have just recently invested in a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV. It's been almost a month now, and I haven't heard a peep from her regarding our current conveyance issues. While considering what I've endurred in the last year and a half; what with her constantly wearing her elbow out on my ribs and also putting unnecessary mileage upon my backside via her sneaker; I MUST SAY THAT... I AM PLEASED. Thanks for providing me an opportunity to vent my appreciation!! John Wolfe Orlando, Florida
