Best value for the buck
I get 38 mpg easily on highway but if you drive like maniac with aggresive driving style with frequent rapid acceleration then don't expect high fuel economy. I easily 32 in the city but then my commute to work is very small and most of the time car sits on Metra train parking lot.I do have one disappointment, the leather on the steering wheel is coming off and I have made a claim but looks like Hyundai is still working on a permanent solution and has told me that I will be contacted once the new steering wheel is shipped to the dealer for installation. Otherwise a superb car for the price. Kudos to Hyundai for learning from their mistakes to build a amazing machine.
It's a real fuel economy vehicle
If your looking for a reliable and dependable car Hyundai elantra is the best car. If your looking to Save money on gas this car has it, and it runs smooth.

I LOVE IT!
I have to say, this is the most impressive car and I am so glad that I bought it. Orginally I wanted the Sonata (which is also nice) but felt to big after test driving it. The salesman introduced this vehicle to me and I was hooked. It's much roomer in the inside than what it looks like and the design is very sleek. I fill up at $35 and get about 33 miles to a gallon believe it or not. It's stylish, easy to drive, and is perfect for city parking!
2012 elantra
traded our 2010 elantra se for the 2012 gls its more comfortable than the 2010 gas mileage is alittle bit better car handles well but suspension is cheap on this car we have 7500 miles on the car and I belive the rear shocks are gone it sounds like the back wheels are falling off we sent it back to the dealer they said everything looks good its going back a third time it has the old time strait rear axle that went out in the 80's biege seats stain easy car has some blind spots front pilars and rear hard to see when pullig out in traffic backing can be bad also gas mileage is between 24 - 32 sometimes if the wind is blowing in the right direction you might get 36 on the highway not much power
I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER HYUNDAI!
We are very disappointed in this car. 17,000 miles in, the car developed a blown headgasket. Service manager said bolts were loose from the factory. Hyundai area rep. tried to blame this on us, saying we had let the car overheat, although the car had never got hot. Why would a new car overheat anyway? While being fixed, dealer found timing chain tensioner was loose also. Kept smelling antifreeze later and dealer found hoses with pinholes. 35,000 miles now and car is making a popping noise in the front end and our mileage has dropped from averaging 35mpg to 29mpg. We bought this car, because of mileage and Hyundai quality supposedly being better now, but it is the last one we will ever own!
