Used 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric mild hybrid CVT) Consumer Reviews
The car of the near future
It's a little car but it's quiet, fun, peppy, and the economy is a thumb in the eye to the oil companies. The Honda quality is evident though we have a bit of a dash rattle. The two anti-theft systems got us an insurance break. The car asks nothing special of you but beware that it's built for economy and not tire-shredding takeoffs. We routinely get better than 55 mpg in town and 48+ on the highway, better than the EPA numbers and better now than when brand new (10,400 miles ago). This is a CVT which "outmileages" the manual by a bit.
CIVIC HYBRID REVIEW
I LOVE IT, IT SAVES ME MONEY, HELPS THE ENVIRONMENT, AND IT IS AS RELIABLE AS A REGULAR CIVIC. ALSO IT ISN'T UGLY LIKE THE OTHER HYBRIDS OUT THERE!!!!

MPG and Styling
I have had the car since 12/03 and am averaging 36.3 mpg per tank. I see that many of you tell of your 40+ MPG tanks and I am wondering why mine is not performing anywhere near that. What's the deal??? Any suggestions? As for the styling, I wanted the dealer to install fog lights and a rear deck spoiler (as offered as an option in the non-hybrid Civics) but they could not do it per instruction from Honda. I purchased the spoiler myself from the dealership and installed it myself - and it looks GREAT! I will soon be looking for other Honda wheels to replace the standard wheels.
great little car
i'm a high school student who has to get around from home to school and back, as well as to friends' houses and places for parties - and needed an efficient, roomy yet compact car. the civic hybrid stood out and my dad bought it for me. at first i complained to him about the seemingly lack of power because of miniscule 93 hp it had, but now after driving it for a week, i take that back. i don't speed or drive a car like i'm trying to race it, so the civic hybrid is great for me. plus i traverse many hills on 280 and 92 here in california, and its great for the mileage.
Honda Hybrid
Not the car to get. It is nothing special and not worth the extra money espeicially when you compare it to the EX model. Does not get anywhere near the gas mileage on the sticker. The car has barely broken 32 mpg around town. If they had one of those "30 day test drive" deals, I would return it.
