I've had my 2021 Yukon Denali Xl since Nov. 3rd & I've driven it maybe 2weeks. It's been in the shop longer than I've had to enjoy it. Some kind of electrical problem that they can't figure out... got it back this past Saturday, after over 3weeks in the shop. Couldn't wait to get back in it & enjoy...Woke up Monday & it wouldn't start again... the same problem... talk to a few tow truck guys & the said they've been picking up a few 2021 Denali's & Tahoe's... Very disappointing, especially after trading my Escalade

Bought a 2021 Yukon XL Denali with auto leveling suspension. 87 miles and car dropped 2" on passenger side. Been in the shop for 20 days and still not fixed. I should have known better than to buy a new design with COVID on top. What good is a $85,000 vehicle if you can't trust you'll make it down the road on your next trip? Hoping for 30 days and lemon law to kick in. Do not buy this vehicle until they figure out how to build it reliably!

Purchased 2021 Yukon xl last October. Took it in for recall the download made the engine control module fail..No parts available stayed in the shop for three weeks. Driving on busy highway the other day it died ...had to be towed to the shop. That’s been nearly two weeks . Again no parts.. nobody really interested at dealership on fixing. Should have keep the 2017 suburban.

Paid $81,000 and nothing but problems!!! Do not buy!!! Water leak due to them not placing sunroof gasket. 2nd water leak from roof antenna, electrical issues throwing sensors on before truck break down. Plus every 2 weeks I have to call roadside assistance to jump my truck after a long day at work.

Bought brand new Yukon 2021 early Sept. Immediately drove it to Florida from PA with the kids. Issues all along the way with buttons not working and system errors. On the ride back safety system error warning popped up every 1/4 mile. Since then, its been a nightmare. Random, goofy things keep happening. While driving the mirrors will fold in and out, speakers on drivers side stopped working for 2 days, radio was stuck on 1 station for a day, rear lights will randomly flash, stopped at a red light and the steering wheel started making noise and moving all over the place, check engine light came on to be told to keep driving it til it went off then took it in to have 41 codes pop up, and on and on. There's much more... they've replaced the module now 4 times. I have young kids and I am scared to drive the thing because its always something goofy and I'm just waiting for the big stuff to start happening since I haven't even put any wear and tear on the thing yet. Out of 4 months, my yukon has been in the dealership OVER 54 days. And they just rejected my claim that its a lemon... I need to keep taking it in is their solution. Do not buy... I own a $70k dumpster fire of a vehicle that I'm stuck with.

Never ending problems 2021 GMC Yukon Denali !

Bought my 2021 Yukon Denali on October 2020. It’s already been to the service 5 times and on Monday it’s going back . They even kept it there almost 30 days one time . Had electrical problems which included the electrical harness and the module and one part was not available. After over 20 days they got the part only to find another electrical part was not working. This also caused rear seat entertainment to not work . And now the rear seat entertainment only works when it feels like it . Still not fixed ! Another issue i keep getting SD Card has been removed which it hasn’t . This causes my navigation not to work . Took it again to dealership service dept and was told SD card works fine. Message popped in and out now it’s just there. Also every time i wash my vehicle the water stays on roof swishes on roof . It doesn’t drain properly. Took it twice they say it’s fine. They finally ordered new part to replace the tubes so hoping it works. It’s going back to the service dept for who knows how long this time . It’s a shame for such a beautiful and very expensive vehicle to have so many problems ! Come on GMC do better and fix all these issues! I’m paying a lot of money for my vehicle to be at the repair shop longer than it is with me ! Shame !! I would recommend anyone looking to buy a GMC Yukon Denali , get something else or maybe stay away from the 2021 model. I traded my 2018 Yukon Denali for the 2021. I truly regret it! The 2018 didn’t give me any problems. Edit : Fast forward to June 2022 and new problem arose on sept 2021. It’s using oil but no leaks. After oil change after 1000 miles it lost 2 qt dealership added oil . Then again lost 1 qt after 1000 miles . I keep getting warning message low oil add oil ! So annoying . I bought a piece of junk. I have to keep going to dealership every 1000 miles so they can document ! But apparently GMC says it’s normal to use up oil. My 2018 Yukon GMC never did this .

Engine Failure

Great vehicle when it's not in the shop. There is a known issue with the 5.3L and 6.2L engine lifters that cause bent rods and engine failure. The fanboys will tell you this is an isolated occurance...it's not. This mainly effects Yukons built before April 1st 2021. Problem is mine was built after that date and has the same issue. The forums give a very grim view of GM's ability to fix this issue as "fixed" engines have also failed. I still love my Yukon, I just don't trust it anymore after if left me stranded and it had to be towed.

Do not purchase until issues are worked out

I purchase new vehicles often. I’ve had every make/model car you can own. So I decided to try a Yukon GMC for first time. Issues every other day. Car wouldn’t fire, car broken into and no windows in stock to replace, 3rd row headrests have been out of commission for 6 months. I feel unsafe at this point. In addition, the interior seating is cheaply made and the exterior rear and doors are not even medal. Apple play and wifi frequently miscommunicate and makes radio stations not work. Lights are constantly going off and my video camera stays on 90% of the time thinking I’m hitting something while driving. The electrical system needs to be revamped. Purchased new in July 2020 and already 7 recalls. Dear seatbelts don’t work. This car is a COMPLETE DISASTER . Will never purchase. GMC vehicle again.

Engine Failure at 9000 Miles

The Yukon was originally delivered with a cracked windshield. Then at 3000 miles a light came up because there was apparently next to no oil. So, not a great start... Today, at 9000 miles, it left us stranded in the middle of the road. Engine would not fire. Tow truck driver saud they've been towing the new Yukon left and right lately. GM charges Mercedes pricing with none of the quality and certainly none of the benefits and perks.

I bought a DEFECTIVE 2021 Yukon Denali

I purchased my GMC 2021 Yukon Denali in the first or second week of October 2020. I put a lot of money down on the vehicle. From the time I drove it off the lot I immediately called my salesperson Josh and told him the CarPlay was not working. Every time I made a call it’ll start making a bizarre sound randomly during the call. All suggestions, service Dept, no one could fix this issue. Currently, (12-27-2020) I’m in the process of returning the truck. GM now wants to bring in their technicians to look it over before they issue a refund. In addition, the rear entertainment is whacky. And the navigation system, separate from CarPlay, was way off for some time (4-5 days) but then “fixed itself”. It would read speed signs, location, roads, etc incorrectly. It did this for about a week recently in December 2020. Still don’t know what it was about. I’ve sent proof of ALL these occurrences and still no fix/repair to this day. If anyone can get this issue resolved immediately please reach me at norhet@gmail.com. Thank you!

Traded my 2019 Escalade for a 2021 Denali

Traded in my 2019 Escalade and feel like I upgraded. The ride is superior. For the first time the interior finishes actually feel like a luxury vehicle should. The panorama roof is great, and my kids are enjoying the entertainment system. The third row is actually comfortable to sit in as well. Overall a complete 10 in my book. Love the new exterior style too. The lights under the deplorable running boards are extremely bright too. Lights up nicely at night. I Highly recommend this suv!

General Overview w/ Mileage Surprise

Bill B, 04/25/2021

14 of 16 people found this review helpful

I see from many of the reviews, the 2021 Denali is not without problems, which can be typical of a new design. I have nothing but praise, except for the Apple Airplay interface, which still needs some fine tuning (between mfg and Apple). I am very pleased with my Yukon Denali, which as 11,555 miles on it since I picked it up in December 2020. I'd special order mine putting every option on it except the the lighted hood ornament. I should say, I'm not a GMC fan. I'd previously had a 2018 GMC Sierra 3500 Denali and couldn't stand it. GMC was well behind RAM and Ford in technology. Solidly built (better than Ford and RAM), but on the inside, it was very 'utilitarian' and hardly invited. I ended up selling that just after a year. I'd also owned a 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV which was sorta 'meh' in my overview. I kept that for 3 years. It was much better for creature comforts, but I hated the center counsel 'cooling storage' and the middle row seats that had no forward/aft adjustements and cramped. The fit and finish were very good, but in the end, it wasn't worth the $100k I paid for it. Sooooo, I was not a fan, though I do think GMC does a great job in this segment and has owned it for decades. Last May, one of my friends bought the new 2020 Sierra 3500 Denali and I was impressed. It was a quantum leap ahead of what I'd bought in 2018. The 10-speed transmission mated with the large V8 Diesel engine worked marvelously. A day or two later, a mail brochure of the new 2021 Yukon arrived at his house. It was amazing, the upgrades significant and it intrigued me. I went to the local deanship to see if they had one, because, like most people, I want to 'touch' it! But, it would seem and has been true for almost all of the last year, pandemic and all, getting to touch one was pretty much a pipe dream... A week later I decided to bite the bullet and order one built to specification. As noted, I ordered everything except for the lighted GMC emblem in the front grill and waited ... and waited ... and waited. Finally in December, 7 1/2 months later, my truck arrived. I'd ordered the Black Forest green and when I arrived at the deanship I saw a Detail in what I'd call for the most part, an anthracite grey. It was beautiful and demanded your attention. I met the dealer and said I'm here for the Denali, where is it? He looked at me and said, 'You passed it coming into the showroom!' But...but...but I ordered Black Forest green! He said, yep, that's what it is. I went back out and stared intently at the paint. It was rich, beautifully metallic, but I just wasn't getting the green. Open him up, found the window sticker, and sure enough, color: Black Forest Green. Finally when I was able to see the reflection of the sun, I could see it. I have since grown to appreciate the subtlety of the color and like that it's one that offers many colors in its spectrum. As for the vehicle itself, it's big, almost a foot longer than the previous model, with a well designed and executed interior. Its technology suite is upgraded significant, and frankly rivals the one I had in the 2017 Escalade, in fact, to be blunt, it's much better. It has the 6.2 liter V8 mated to a 10-speed transmission. I'd have opted for the diesel power plant, had it been the V-8 used in the 2500 and 3500 Sierra's, but alas, all they're offering is that wimpy 3.0 liter unit that barely exceeds the torque on the gas and comes no where close to the HP. So I knew, going in, I wouldn't be getting the fuel economy many reviewers thought a new design would be expecting (14/19 mpg w/ combined of 16 according to GM). But I'd get a great drivetrain that was more than up to the task of moving 3 tons + passengers and luggage. Rather than bore you with all the wiz-bang improvements, I'll sum them up like this: If you want an outstanding large family SUV with actual storage (good not great) behind the 3rd row seats (with all seats up), you should definitely look at the Yukon Denali, everyone who's ridden with me has had nothing but praise about its looks, interior, fit and finish and comfort. One last little side note. I currently have the truck in Utah (my home is in East Texas) and driving around. I just completed a round trip to the Salt Lake valley. This is a winding, hilly, up and over a couple of mount passes 356 mile drive. Now remember, up and over all sorts of hills and mountain passes... On this trip I averaged 21.2 mpg ... I was very impressed. I know this isn't great in the world of small vehicles where 25-35 mpg is the norm, but none of those can get that many people (up to 7) and their luggage around is such comfort and style.

Vehicle is perfect for a family with towing needs. We have two kids and two large dogs (Newfoundlands) and there is plenty of space in the vehicle when we travel. Also have a boat to tow and the 5.3L mated to the 10-speed auto performs flawlessly. Engine is plenty powerful. and shifts are smooth. Acceleration feels plenty quick. The SLT trim is the perfect blend of luxury and value. Ours has the SLT lux pack, Max towing pack, and the Rear Media & Nav pack. Really not sure what anyone else would really need. Usually lease vehicles, but we bought this one as we can see keeping for a long time. Wonderful vehicle and highly recommend. Also despite what everyone says, our SLT equipped the way noted above was slightly cheaper than a similarly equipped Tahoe. Honestly they are the same vehicle and overall they do cost about the same so it really all depends on which styling you prefer. Either way Yukon or Tahoe, you can't go wrong.

So far had it a month and it’s the best vehicle I have ever owned. I previously had a Lexus, I am a big guy 6’8” and miss the size. Headroom is great. So far problem free for a month so far. Will check back if there are any bugs. Certainly nothing to report like some of the reviews on here.

Had a 2018 Escalade which I loved wanted to get a new one but couldn't find so found a 2021 Yukon Denali. Had for 3 days wouldn't not start and not the battery so had to be towed in with a couple hundred miles on it. Then dealer has no loaner vehicles as you would think you spent 83K on a vehicle you should not be put into a situation like this. Not a good start and as everyone knows if you get poor service to start you are never satisfied moving forward.

2021 Yukon Denali Dream Ride

After driving my 2003 Yukon Denali to 250,000 miles (and it’s still running fine), I decided to lease the new 2021. I took possession of it 3 hours after it was off the transport hauler on July 31st, 2020 and have loved all of it. It was bigger and boxier than the 2003 but now has more amenities and some good ones were removed. I’ve driven it over 7,000 miles since the date I took possession of it. A couple of the very simple things were removed from the 2003 that I feel were essential and “Denali worthy”: one was the dual visors. When I drive the Denali over the mountain every day, now every twist and turn I am constantly rotating the visor! Plus, there are large enough gaps to the left and right of the visor that let in blinding sunlight. The visor feels short. But if they’d have kept the dual visors-one that rotates to the left AND has an extension piece, and one inner one that you can flap down and slide side to side, I wouldn’t constantly be dealing with the visor. And you must use your right hand to go into the visor well to make it come down and move. There’s nothing on the left hand side to grab it. The other thing I greatly miss is the ability to move the gas pedal toward me to make it more reachable. I miss the simple hands free OnStar calling. I haven’t quite mastered the car play. It seems I have to plug in the iPhone to hook up car play but it could be operator error. I have a case on the phone that won’t let the phone charge in the charging well. Maybe if I removed the cover, it would charge and hook up car play. So much to learn about this vehicle! I bought it to be able to tow. I haven’t had any issues except an engine light once. Drove into the dealership and the system analytics showed nothing was amiss so they reset it. Now I need to get all weather tires so I can hit the snow. I love the white frost and light interior, large panel sunroof, easy fold down seats (got the bench second row for our big dog) and the many features this SUV has. I’m sorry to hear about others’ issues with lemon cars. Hoping I lucked out and got one of the good ones.

Worse purchase I’ve made to date!!!

Andrew, 10/13/2021

I purchased a new 2021 Yukon Denali with every possible option. At 3,500k miles, the engine threw a cam rod that was either over tightened or under tighten according to the dealer. It went into limp mode and it was all I could do to make it to a dealership because GMC would not pay to have it towed and OnStar wanted to charge a arm and a leg and said GMC would reimburse me. The air ride suspension is stuck on the lowest setting and is going in tomorrow for the second time to be fixed. I have no suspension at the moment it feels like and is not safe to drive in heavy rains as well as changes the road contour make you feel u ran over a log. It’s embarrassing to have a 90k vehicle that the tires scrub going up a hill or speed bump. It’s like driving with no suspension. The rear entertainment system randomly turns on going down the road and is annoying at night. The running boards some times work and other times try to close while you are on them as if they are going to break your ankle. The safety restrain display has been reset 4 times by the dealer and it’s just a matter of time before it comes back on a million times driving down the road. While driving, the GPS decides to reboot and will not let you back in until you stop driving. Apple Car Play needs serious work, sometimes it reads my phone, some times it shows me text messages and sometimes it randomly plays a podcast or iTunes while I am listening to Sirius XM. The idler pulley bearings went out and that was the most annoying 2 weeks of owning the SUV from the high pitch whine. No dealer could see me for almost 2 weeks from being backed up. When it rains the plastic strip that keeps trash out of the gutter pops and smacks which is incredibly annoying going down the road and having to explain to others on the phone what the noise is. The sunroof had a bad seal and started leaking as well in downpours. If this SUV didn’t have all the problems it would be nice! But at the moment it is a Lemon and with low vehicle inventory looks like I am stuck with it for the for seeable future. The other sad part, no dealership has courtesy vehicles at the moment and the last two times it’s been in I’ve had to rent a rental car from the local Enterprise to be able to operate my small business. Tomorrow will make the 6th time it’s been in to the shop for work. I’ve had the SUV 10 months being October 2021 from my January 2021 purchase, and it’s spent over a month in the shop being worked on. When I first got my Denali, a business associate that loved mine so much went and purchased one as well. Took 3 months to come in and after 5,000k miles he had a bad engine that needed to be rebuilt that left him stuck coming home on vacation. I’ve only met one person locally happy with their purchase and ironically they had only owned their's a month. Just wait, the problems will come and once you are out of warranty you are stuck with it!

We’ve had our Yukon Denali for a little over a week now. Compared to our previous 2016 Yukon XL SLT, it drives and rides smoother and quieter. The seats are comfortable and there is plenty of leg room. The multiple cameras give excellent views all around the vehicle and the Apple Car Play is a nice addition. My only complaint is, the passenger assist handle is located above the passenger door, while on the SLE & SLT models, it’s on the A pillar. For a passenger with disabilities, the A pillar location is much easier to use.

Bluetooth, navigation & steering column problems

Gabriel, 12/19/2021

Paid 72k for a "luxury" Yukon Denali and they can't even get the basics right. $15,000 cars don't have these problems. My Bluetooth audio connection works half the time. The other half I have phone but no music. And it's not the phone, its the car. Phone works great connected to any other Bluetooth car or device. And it's not only music, can't listen to books, podcasts, anything from phone. Already had to have the entire steering column replaced. It made random clicking noises for months and finally locked itself into the least comfortable driving position. Part had to be ordered so I drive this way for 2 months. By far the worst feature of all: the navigation is deliberately disabled while driving. It only works when in park. So the ONLY time I need it I don't have it. So the vehicle has no navigation. I have to use my phone like a teenager in an old car. I will never ever buy a GM vehicle for this reason alone. How dare you disable such a basic feature. This is allegedly a safety feature. Following that thinking, disabling the engine would make the vehicle the safest it could possibly be. And I suppose using phone navigation makes people safer. Absolutely pathetic. I miss my Range Rover.

Engine Issue with Less than 8k Miles! 🤔

Bought new March 2021. 6 mothnths and less than 8k miles in, engine failure! I loved my truck before then. Beyond disappointed. Dealership said it was the lifters in the motor. Motor literally sounds blown! TV's completely shut off when you forget to disable the autostart. That engine failure though... Scared of the future with it. 😭

2021 Yukon Denali

Just don’t buy it, it will break down with faulty lifters. I know it looks nice but avoid at all costs. Don’t make the same mistake I did and ignore these reviews. Car broke down on a busy interstate in the middle of nowhere with kids in the back. Sat in the car waiting for a tow. Because of Covid, we couldn’t ride in the tow truck back to the dealer (they were closed anyways). An hour later we finally found a cab to pick us up and give us a $200 ride home. It’s been almost 4 weeks without a car and GM has been terrible to work with to get a loaner or rental. I will not buy another GM car again and you shouldn’t either. 5,000 miles on an $85,000 car. What a joke.

2021 4WD DENALI PREMIUM. Air suspension option is not available at the moment. The Denali has finally made the leap to the luxury segment. Interior in prior models was lacking for the price point. That and the previously cramped back row are what kept me on the sidelines. This new vehicle is well appointed. My other car is a luxury Sedan. So I’m slightly choosy on amenities, safety features, etc. The new Denali checks all of the boxes. The new dashboard shifter works. Not my favorite location though. Kudos GM!

I've had Yukons or Suburbans for the last 30 years. Think this is the 6th or 7th.Purchased this one August 2020. This is by far the best. Best style, interior, finish, technology, safety and fun to drive. Just took it in for first oil change. They performed two recall issues that I was not aware of as they had not malfunctioned, but I was told they would perform the mods anyway.

I love this SUV, super comfortable, elegant, smooth ride and beautiful. The turning radius is impressive. I was afraid it would be too big for me to drive as this is the largest vehicle I’ve ever owned, but once your get driving it doesn’t feel so big. I haven’t had any problems except for a leaky hatchback window, the dealership replaced the weatherstripping and it’s all good. Love it!

Recalls, won’t start, gets fixed, just dies in the parking lot, gets towed, breaks down again. TVs work half the time. Lift gate opens randomly. GM really has some work to do for the 2022 model, 2021 model is terrible. Hopefully I get it back here shortly, wife and I have bets going on how long untl it needs towed once we get it back! It made it one week the last time!

Bought mine in September. Right after I got it I had to take it for a brake module recall. Only has 4000 miles on it and I have had it towed in twice for all electrical shutting down. They say it's because of the radio updates. Getting scared to even drive it anymore because it shuts down without any notification. Gets stuck in park and says everything needs to be serviced. Tow truck driver says they tow a lot of the 2021 Yukon's in. I had a 2012 Yukon Denali and I loved it. I wish I never traded it in. This has been the 2nd time for the same issues. I agree with everyone else with the comments and issues they have with their complaint. GMC needs to recall all of these vehicles and fix these issues with the electronics. They just don't seem to care about the safety of the people that depended on the GMC product. Especially what we pay for these vehicles.

I purchased my 2021 Yukon Denali Xl new. I was on my way to my parents and I heard a knocking noise & it was jerking. I called the dealership where I purchased my vehicle and explained the situation & took it to them it was in the shop for 3 weeks because the left side lifters went bad. (DEFECTED). My husband & I I went to the shop & they explained the issue. My husband asked them isn’t that an engine issue & shouldn’t a new engine be installed & they said know. I contacted GMC and filled a complaint someone called twice to see if I my car had been fixed. No apology or offer anything for my inconvenience. At this time I had made up my mind I didn’t want it anymore & I expressed that to the service manager. I picked my car up from the shop they gave me this song & dance that it was fixed and I shouldn’t have anymore issues. It was late almost dark so I got in my vehicle and was driving home & I noticed something on my windshield and just dismissed it & said they could have washed it. So I drove it to work the next morning it was dark once I left for work. . Once I got in my car that spot was bothering me so when I got home I touched it & I thought it was oil . So I looked over my vehicle I notice this black oil all over the grill, hood, wheels side window and more smaller spots on the windshield, so I showed it to my husband he said know that asphalt. I was totally upset. I called the dealership service department which was closed at 7:00 pm I left a message. I took my vehicle back to the dealerships, the person which test drove the vehicle after the repair drove it through an area when they were paving or repairing a road. My vehicle was detailed I was stuck at the dealership all day.from around 9:00-4:30. (Long story) I had my vehicle back from being in the shop for 3 week, left side lifters replaced & detailed from the asphalt for maybe two weeks. Sunday morning I was on my way to work, the same issue I had the first time was happening again but WORSE this time. I was so afraid of driving my car so I took the vehicle back to the dealership & of course he had amnesia & acted like he didn’t remember me. I was furious, The service manager asked me what was the problem, I told him to drive the vehicle while he was driving through the parking lot and I heard the noise all the way inside the bay where I was standing when he pulled the vehicle into the bay he said that it was bad the noise & the jerking. I Left the vehicle & I received a call about a week later this time it was right side lifters. The vehicle was in the shop for 2 weeks. I told them I no longer wanted the vehicle. The only thing the service manager offered was an apology with an extended warranty if I decided to keep the vehicle or if know longer wanted the vehicle to give money back for at least 1 month payment since my vehicle was in the shop for a month for total time for all the repairs. GMC NEVER CALLED I DECIDED NOT TO KEEP IT AND I’VE CALLED numerous times ABOUT THE 1 MONTH PAYMENT. I still haven’t received, which I’m not surprised. You know if GMC doesn’t contact and of course the service manager will not, he sit there with a straight face and tell you anything. The only thing I did receive was a loner car. PLEASE RUN , DO NOT PURCHASE A YUKON DENALI

Bought the 2021 Yukon brand spanking new and it has been nothing but problems!! Almost everything is not covered under warranty because we are past the miles. First the sunroof stopped working. They said the motor seized and to replace it is $1k. Then the passenger map light went out and to fix is $400 because they have to replace the entire light console. The back heat stopped working!? They said some temperature gage wasn’t working… another $1k to fix. The interior seat trim keeps falling off on the rear seats. I’ve already had it fixed once, they said it was some bolt. But it didn’t fix the issue… a year later and same trim piece doesn’t stay intact with the seat. Who knows how much that will cost!! Then oil started leaking ALL OVER! Took it in and the oil pan wasn’t sealed anymore. The oil pan has been the ONLY thing covered under warranty. There is a noise coming from the driver side when I turn my signal on. I even recorded the noise to show them something is wrong and they said that’s just how it is. Ummm no… vehicles shouldn’t make random noises? At one point we thought the transmission was going out because it started having trouble shifting. They kept it for a few days and said it was normal or couldn’t recreate the problem I was having. Freaking figure it out and fix it!!! For a $70k vehicle it’s honestly a POS. Should have gone with the new Tahoes. UPDATE: I’ve already written a review once before… adding a second one since I continue to have issues not under warranty!! This vehicle is 3 years old and purchased brand spanking new. Most recently the battery failed and that had to be replaced. Now some connector to my airbags is faulty and needs to be replaced.. $500!? Are you kidding me. In the winter my heat went out and they had to replace some thermostat. The laundry list of issues GMC should be held accountable and replace the vehicle. This is absolutely ridiculous. $80k and in 3 years we have spent more than $5k fixing issues that are not under warranty. POS if you ask me.

the interior design is anything but a utility vehicle...unfortunately. There is so much wasted space inside the vehicle. The fold down seats that don't fold flat are embarrassing. The folding third row sits about 10 inches off the floor making it high to use the bed and wasting space. I ended up removing the entire third row (not a quick fix) and replace when needed.. The side cavities in the rear are hollow plastic, wasting more space. the bed, once again does not lay flat. its tilted up and very high due to the permanent folding seats. Most Honda SUV's have more floor to ceiling clearance. For the size of the vehicle, you would expect more movable space throughout the vehicle. The second row does not slide forward or back to create more space. Even the engine compartment has tons of wasted space yet they made the air filter challenging to get to. It's just a poor design for convenience and efficiency.

The best SUV I have ever had. The diesel engine is not as "quick" from the start as the gasoline engine, but I have gotten used to making the most out of it, and learned how to push it when I need to. The benefit is that I get 25mpg combined, which is insane for a large a truck this size. The rest - comfortability, space, and safety, are great and in my opinion can only be rivaled by the luxury cousin escalade, or the navigator and the MB GLS. very happy with the price I paid for what I got. - BTW - i see the duramax version is not listed so I had to pick the SLT 5.3 engine.

I hate my 2021 Yukon. I previously owned the 2016 and loved everything about it. This 2021 has an uncomfortable steering wheel. My family thought I was overreacting until we went on a long trip and they finally agreed. It has a hard edge on it and there is really no comfortable place to hold your hands. They removed the peddle adjustments so as a woman who wears different shoes with different heights, this is frustrating. The interior lighting is so dull so good luck finding something in the dark. Lastly, it was in the shop for a month due to needing the lifters replaced. It had 13k miles.

The GMC Yukon really has no competitors and enjoys a niche position it shares with the Chev Tahoe. The ride is outstanding given the vehicle size. Storage, turning radius and resale are much better than the Expedition or Nissan Armada. The seating is comfortable and the relatively flat side bolsters are a plus rather than a negative as indicated in the Edmunds review. Too often auto makers provide aggressive side bolsters which narrow the seat back leaving a larger than average driver resting their back on the bolsters rather than the seat back. I’ve taken many long trips in my 2021 Yukon AT4. I find the seats exceptionally comfortable, attractive with good quality. At 6’4”, I have ample leg room something often missing in mid-sized vehicles and seldom mentioned in reviews. The Yukon is a versatile vehicle with uses that go far beyond transporting people. No vehicle in its class offers more. Update, August 2024. I still like this vehicle and wouldn’t change the original review. I’ve owned it for 3 1/2 years. The ride is great and a big improvement over my 2016 Yukon. The seats are comfortable and the vehicle has plenty of useful space.

I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews for the 2021 GMC Yukon and as a recent owner I felt that I should post a review myself. We’ve had our 2021 Yukon Denali for 4 weeks now and it has exceeded our expectations. Great ride, fantastic fit and finish (this is coming from a current 2015 Lexus GS350 owner that was assembled in Japan), we’ve had the SUV for 4 weeks and experienced no issues. When we bought the vehicle last month I asked the sales rep about some of the issues that I had read about online and he said that they had seen a few Yukon’s experience issues but it was all software related. If you are looking for a family vehicle with room for adult passengers and rear-facing child car seats there is not a lot of options that check those boxes and allow a driver that is over 6’ tall (like me) to not feel like they have to compromise on front seat leg room. Bottom line, there is a reason GMC and Chevy dealerships can’t keep these things on the lot. Update - 12 months and 8k miles of ownership and still no issues and still loving it.

Drove vehicle on several long trips. Have approximately 5,000 miles on SUV. Have had three recalls, none that noticeably affected vehicle. Large, comfortable interior. Nice turn radius for a large vehicle. Very powerful and excellent acceleration. Many excellent safety features. On a few occasions the speakers have stopped working. So far, after vehicle sits for awhile ( 15-30 minutes), speakers return. Given 4 stars instead of 5 due to recalls and speaker issue.

I've owned more than 15 vehicles, from 7 different manufacturers and this vehicle, by far, is the best I've ever owned! Over 50k miles and other than oil changes and tires (only downside, the Continentals provided were HORRIBLE in rain, replaced with Pirelli Scorpion AS3's and they're great) NO squeaks, rattles, nothing! All electronics working great, just can't say enough good things. I've never owned a vehicle where I've gotten so many compliments. It's the upgraded Cayenne Red with all black interior. Great gas mileage on highway. Local, it is what it is for an almost 8,000lb vehicle. Highly recommend and will buy another!

This vehicle replaced a 2014 buick enclave which I really liked. We have had large vehicles for many years and the new yukon was no problem getting use to. Lots of room and I am so pleased with the diesel. Has plenty of power and the mileage is amazing. First trip from western NC to Shreveport gave us 28 mpg. I don't fully trust the brakes on the vehicle. The petal is very firm like manual brakes. Takes more foot pressure to stop than I have been use to. I would prefer a hand or foot operated emergency brake with range of braking rather than a button that locks all wheels up immediately. I like to shift gears in our mountains at times and the push button transmission makes it more work and no fun. The multiple systems will take time to get use to, but they are a wonder of achievement. The navigation system works great and is very easy to operate. Good ride and lovely to look at.
