Stay far away from GMC
My 5 month old Yukon XL Denali suffered catastrophic engine failure over two weeks ago with only 12,000 miles on it. From the mouth of the service manager at GMC, there is an ‘epedemic’ of complete engine failure, just like mine in the 6.2L engine. I need a complete engine replacement which is on back order nationwide. Funny that they have engines to build new Denali’s to sell to unsuspecting customers, but refused to provide replacement engines to those have all who have already signed on the dotted line. Run away from GMC. Customer service is nonexistent and they, do nothing to help the consumer after purchase.

They don’t make them like they used to
Although these vehicles are beautiful to look at, they definitely don’t make them like they used to. I didn’t even have it 2 full days and the radio and sound throughout the whole vehicle went out. It wouldn’t work again until I shut the car down for the night and tried again the next day. Hasn’t happened again for a few days, but from what I’ve investigated, it’s prone to happen again. It’s got a few things that I’m not too happy about. Nothing that’s the end of the world, but definitely annoying when you pay 90k for a vehicle.

Don't ever buy one
It is junk..most electronic stuff does not work..it's a brand new 2023 Yukon xl and I am having issues on day two..lights are poor..transmission is rough..suspension is like my 20 year old truck that I just scrapped..the dealer doesn't give a crap and service department just ignores you saying it shouldn't be like that but can't fix it..call me and I'll tell you all the issues and for sure you won't spend a 100,000 dollars on an unreliable stupidly engineered vehicle built by a corporation that doesn't care about anything...[contact info removed]
Disappointed - the roof leaks after 2 years
Bought our 2021 GMC Yukon XL SLT brand spankin’ new off the lot. No complaints until 2 years and 20 days after ownership when the roof leaked on a rainy morning. The water poured into the car through the interior light covers and control panel above the driver and passenger seat. Water also poured in through a lower duct by the driver’s left leg. GMC would not allow a warranty on it. We give thumbs down to GMC and Chevrolet products. It’s no wonder so many people buy foreign cars —- they are better quality than American cars. 👎🏼GMC👎🏼

I love my GMC Yukon XL but not love at first sight
UPDATE TO MY REVIEW BELOW: I guess this is a vehicle that has to be "broken" in. I'm happy to report that my GWM Yukon XL is "broken" in! The seats are comfortable and the steering wheel has conformed to my grip. My 6 and 8 year old grandbabies can operate the rear entertainment system with no issues. I still wish it would work with an iPhone instead of just an Android phone. I purchased the floor mats that interlock for the front, middle, and back floors. The front and middle are perfect. The back mat leaves much to be desired. I'm comparing it to my 2015 Suburban and it does not prevail. The Yukon back mat is not rubber even though the GM website and my local dealership says it is. It slides back and sometime the back hatch door will not shut because the mat is in the way. The mat cost over $100 and I was provided with velcro to place on the back on the mat and on the vehicle carpet to keep the mat in place. I did not put the velcro on the mat or on my carpet and I will not do that. The mat that I bought from Chevy for my suburban was, in fact, rubber and did not slip or slide. It stayed in place. In addition, it was only $65. Disappointed in that. GM - you can do better. The Yukon XL looks nice and drives good. Comfort is an exception - the steering wheel is not padded. It is wrapped in leather but has a protrusion at the top facing the driver that really causes pain when driving - it is extremely hard and uncomfortable. The drivers seat has three seams and is not comfortable. The rear entertainment center is very hard to get working. I have an Iphone and therefore you can't use the Iphone with it unless you purchase a new cord that will work with it. I ended up using an Amazon Fire Stick that works fine now but it took me two days (six hours) to figure out how to operate it and make it come out of the speakers. It shouldn't be this hard.....

Vehicle with NO LIMITS
Before buying our truck, I rented 3 Yukons for long family road trips and every time this truck exceeded my expectations. So this past Christmas, I decided to trade in my Toyota buy one. I love this vehicle and how solid it is. It truly lives up to its Yukon name. In just a few months, we have driven from Quebec City, Canada to southern West Virginia. We have loaded it to the brim and driven through heavy snow, rain, mud and mountainous terrain. I cant say enough about this truck. It has the power, comfort and technology you need to be completely mobile and looks amazing. Gas mileage isnt the best, but even that is better than expected. I often get 20-24 mpg on the highway. Did I mention I love this thing.

Love our new Yukon!
We just bought a 2021 Yukon XL SLT and came from a 2009 Yukon XL Denali and we LOVE it! We loved out older Yukon but it was time to upgrade and we have zero regrets. We are a family of 6 and this comfortably fits us all and has a ton of room for storage for long trips. Very smooth and quiet ride, Bose speakers, a lot of safety features. It's completely different that the previous model. It's no wonder why they're sold before they get to the dealership a lot of the time. We have had our Yukon for 9 months now and still love it! We have taken it on a couple of road trips and the space we have is great.. We are so happy with this purchase.

One year so far, boy do we love this thing!
As our family grew we saw the need to replace our Outback (twins charge life in a hurry). We wanted something that could do everything. Yet economy was very important. A good friend raved about how efficient his new GMC Sierra with the 3.0 diesel was, and guess what? You could get that engine in the SUV! After a year of mixed use my average fuel economy sits at 27.8 MPG. That’s amazing for such a large vehicle. On the highway I’ve gotten in the 30’s if it’s nice, flat terrain. We’ve had a few recalls, but no problems so far. It’s very comfortable, quiet, and absolutely amazing in winter on bad roads. We’ve been on trips across the country, range is awesome too. Can’t beat this for a family vehicle!

The nicest Yukon XL I have had
I Have owned nine versions of the Yukon XL, including a Cadillac Escalade ESV, GMC Yukon XL's and Chevrolet Suburbans. This one (2023 GMC Yukon XL Denali Diesel) has been the nicest one yet. I bought it brand new (Ordered March 2023, delivered October 4,2023) and have currently over 17K miles on it with no problems at all. The diesel is awesome, I average over 25.5 mpg on daily driving and over 33.5 MPG on the freeway. It is quiet and smooth, people cannot believe it is a diesel. The ride quality is great, very smooth and quiet, and rides heavy, cuts through the snow with ease. My dealer is fantastic, and worked with me on price. The dealer services it (Oil changes are all it has needed so far) and I am very happy with my purchase. Probably the best vehicle I have owned so far.I am very happy with it!

This is our Fourth!
We keep buying these over and over for a reason! They are the best in class as far as we’re concerned! Wow! This is our fourth Yukon and they continue to get better and better! The new suspension is absolutely amazing! It drives like a dream and so smooth! Although we didn’t realize the safety features could be improved upon, this thing is absolutely packed with them! More sensors and more alerts and the camera views from every angle imaginable, which is a good thing because this thing is a BEAST!!! The Heads Up Display is a really nice feature for those of us that have a problem with speeding. It really keeps me in check with the speed limit without being distracting. Our interior is Teak and so pretty! Just an all around comfortable, beautiful and SAFE vehicle!! (We had a bad accident in our 2nd Yukon and will never drive anything else!)

Our favorite SUV yet
We have owned a few different SUVs, from the Acadia, CRV (we disliked this one), Pacifica, and an older Yukon. This one has so much space, is comfortable, it has a lot of features than other middle of the road SUVs and it's physically appealing. We love that it sits higher than other vehicles too. We have no complaints.

Better options on older models. It’s sick that you
I traded in a Ford Explorer that had better options. For the price you should not have to pay extra for voice commands.Very dissatisfied

Yukon XL Denali
Bought new and has 24,000 miles. So far zero problems. Went with 20 inch tires because the ride so much better. Better than the my 2020 Navigator. Highly recommend.

Loved it while it lasted.
Bought new Sept 22. Lasted 18000kms before it was stolen. Don't pay for Onstar as thieves know how to disable the GPS tracking right away. Onstar theft recovery tried for 48hours then closed the case. The horn cable is in an easily accessible location that can be cut without needing to open the hood. Great SUV but too easy to steal. I want a replacement but it will probably get taken as well.
