2024 Genesis GV70 Consumer Reviews

GLC and Macan killer !
My 2023 2.5L has 11K miles and I couldn't be happier. Zero problems. The GV70 has the perfect mix of touchscreen AND mechanical buttons/knobs. Manufactures like Mercedes (ie GLC) mistakenly think drivers want all-touchscreen controls - Which creates dangerous situations when focusing eyes too long navigating though menus and pressing tiny icon controls. Basic actions like audio volume/stations and temperature/fan should be controlled by mechanical buttons/knobs, always. Personally, I never actually reach for my touchscreen - And the touch-sensitive control knob works perfect when I need to. Intuitive layout and design. Best seats ever - Feels like a cockpit. Strong AC. Base audio system beats any other base system. 300HP engine is plenty of power and responsive. Super quiet on highways. [I'm on vacation now renting a GLC-300 and my complaints are numerous. Edmunds got it wrong - GV70 wins by a mile]

Fantastic car
This car is a dream to drive. I compared many luxury mid-size SUVs- Genesis, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes. This one had the most features packed in (I got the sport prestige trim package), drives and handles beautifully, and is thousands less than the competitors. The matte paint is going to be a bit more finicky in the upkeep, but looks amazing. This car is everything I didn't know I wanted.

Lemon
Loved the car for about 3 months. Since then I've had 2 problems which the techs cannot resolve. Showed them my videos in which I was told it meant nothing to them. Last time I was told it needed a software update and the same day I retrieved my car the same thing happened. I am on the National level now and still haven't been reimbursed for my rentals. They are dragging their feet and I'm on the verge of dealing with the Attorney General.

Love the ride and driving experience
Purchased this GV70 with the advanced package with the turbo 4 and I couldn’t be more pleased. I have had no problems since purchasing it in July and currently have 4700 miles on it. Handles the mountains great and is a comfortable highway cruiser with 28 mpg at speed. Update 6/24 Used included valet service for 8,000 mile first maintenance and state inspection. Dealership dropped off a new G70 for me and drove my vehicle back. Service was done ahead of promised time. Vehicle has had no problems. 12/6/2024 update Still loving this GV70. The winter cold weather has brought on an appreciation for the high/low temperatures on the steering wheel along with the heated seats. This is the first vehicle that I have continued Sirius radio subscription due to the quietness of the vehicle and the Lexicon sound system.

GV70 2.5 Sport Prestige is NOT as advertised
Readers, and buyers, should know that the GV70 2.5 Sport Prestige is not as Genesis spec's it - nor as summarized in this review. While the 2.5 Advanced has full leather seats, "upgrading" to the Sport Prestige model reverts to cloth seats with minor leather trim - in both front and back. Very disappointing, not up to par with any other car in this category, and quite misleading in their information and spec sheets (as validated also by the Edmunds summary from which you would not expect cloth seats in that highest end configuration). Unfortunate because the rest of the car is pretty great.
