Don’t Buy Genesis
I purchased this car in Oct. 2021. Ran great for almost a year but then started having problems in Oct. 2022 with less than 10,000 miles. In the last 3 months it has been towed into the shop 3 times for multiple electronic and engine malfunctions. So far it has been in the shop 7 out of the last 12 weeks. Still there. They also are not able to get parts for the car in a timely manner including a battery, which supposedly is now causing all the problems after a fuel injector replacement. Genesis customer service, while polite, only offers apologies for the continued problems. They tout the great warranty. While the car has great design, comfort and style, it is very unreliable and Genesis doesn't seem to care. UPDATE: After another month in the shop with assurances my 2022 G80 was finally repaired, I only made it 40 miles from the dealership when every warning light on the dashboard began to cycle through again. Had to turn around and take back to the dealer. Service manager assured me the original problem that he attempted to fix twice before was just a battery. Apparently this car has serious electrical issues. Steer clear.

Excellent comfort ride
Had a test drive and fall in love with this car. Comfort oriented suspension with great handling, accurate shifting 8 speed transmission, with strong V6 engine with more than enough low end torque. My highway average gas mileage has been about 27-28 mpg on summer blend gas. It is a must test drive car for those who want a reliable luxury smooth riding sedan.

Love my G80!
Purchased a 2023 G80 2.5T AWD Sport Prestige in Dec 2022 and so far it has not disappointed me. Beautiful car inside and out, Cavendish Red w/red interior. Car is a computer on wheels and it does take time to catch up with all of the new technology but it will spoil you for what it can do for you if you take the time to explore all it has to offer but while you are figuring things out there are some features that the car will kick in automatically on its own to heighten your driving experience such as after you drive for about an hour the drivers seat will go into a massage mode to keep you comfortable and alert. I purchased the car an hour away from home and this happened. I wondered what the heck was going on but didn't mind it at all. You can turn that feature off it you like or you can turn it on at anytime, change run time and/or soft, medium, hard message.. I'm not a techy person but it really only takes a little time and effort and you can figure out how these features work. Couple things I'd like to see changed in the future, rear seats to fold down for more storage when needed, CD player and a little more head space when ducking into the car because of the aerodynamics I sometimes bump my head. Still working that out. I spent over a year comparing this car with others and only planned on purchasing the Advanced model but for the money and amenities I'm glad I spent a little more to upgrade to the 2.5T Sport package. In my opinion no other cars could come close for the money with all this car has to offer. Very happy with my purchase so far. Time will tell about reliability. Other car manufacturers should think about packaging their cars like Genesis does and stop all of the silliness by acting like some of these features are gold. Just give people what they want. Such a pain to choose various packages for their cars just to find out you can't have this if you want that and so on. Very frustrating and time wasting, but I spent the time to built them all to be sure that I would be happy with my eventual purchase and it was worth the time spent because now I have no regrets of my choice of purchasing the G80 2.5 Sport. An important note to point out is to look at the cost of ownership across the board on various makes and models. Genesis brand has only been around since 2015/16 so they aren't included in these studies but I am hoping that they will follow the Hyundai brand reliability. scoring for cost of ownership for many of the other comparative models are very high so that is something I considered in my choice. Another thing to notice when comparing cars is that some of the other manufacturers haven't updated their cars for a while like the buttons/controls inside the vehicle. I feel like Genesis vehicles are pretty modern and sharp looking. Others need to catch up.
Nice car, roof rattling noises
The car is gorgeous in style inside and out. I love the car except for the fact that the moonroof rattling noises. After 4 trips to service and countless hours lost. The rattling sounds were eliminated but not completely. I originally wanted to keep it in the family for a long time. Unfortunately I can’t now. It’s a shame because it is a very good car otherwise.

Prettiest sedan in its price class
This is an impressive car. I don't think there is a prettier sedan anywhere close to its price category. Very comfortable, good to drive, quiet. Plus you get the Genesis reliability. I've not had a chance to test it, but that is the way it should be. The only luxury feature which I miss is the ability to touch lock/unlock the rear doors (this feature is only implemented for the front doors). Carbon fibre trim is stunning, and way more attractive than the matte wood that many of its competitors feature. Having had a number of German cars, I can tell you that these guys also sometimes omit things you should be getting. I once owned a BMW 650 which, at a very high price, had no grab handles anywhere on the inside of the vehicle. So the fact that Genesis does not have every single luxury feature that you could name is not surprising. Please note that interior color scheme is a "port option." Thus, you may find combinations at dealers which are not shown on the manufacturer's website. Mine was one of those. Beautiful vanilla/beige that is not listed on the website. There are a bunch of Far East video reviews online on this model, so please don't assume that everything shown there can be had in the USA. One item that's available in South Korea which does not come to the USA is rear-seat video monitors. But of course this is a sedan and not an MPV, so this is probably not the vehicle you would get to haul a bunch of kids around. Also note that many of the luxury goodies are not available in any trim other than the 3.5T Sport AWD. And even on that one, you need to get the Prestige package in order to get a nicely kitted out model.
