2024 Genesis Electrified GV70 Consumer Reviews

The best of all my (BMW, Audi, G80, G90 cars!
Foremost, the smooth/ oh-so-smooth ride and the quiet/very quiet interior at speed. Steering is uncanny and power (Boost!) is frightening, but FUN. Elegant and tasteful inetrior with great tech, 'cept for having to cable Android Auto. and 2nd row seats tilt (my costly BMW 5X did not!!!???). Exterior styling is somewhat strange, but all the other features massage thqat away...

Water Leaks. Horrible customer service!
Car started leaking into passenger area. In 5 1/2 months owning vehicle, it has been in shop for same issue 3 times for a combined 40-50 days. Their idea of customer service is to say sorry, present no solutions, make unfulfilled promises and not return calls, as promised. Will NEVER purchase Genesis/Hyundai again!

GV70 Electric
Super fun to drive. Fast as all get out, down side is the 236 mile range. Works for me for around locally with the kids and I work five minutes from home, but pretty limited on trips.

best luxury by Hyundai
I was in the market for an EV test drove mercedes audi bmw kia hyundai evs and guess what found the gv70 electric with the Prestige package the best ride acceleration tech etc. Electrify America gives you 3 year free charging which takes 18 to 20 minutes while you check your email lol. SO you additionally save on top of a gr8 vehicle

Great vehicle but limited parts availability
Got my GV70 EV in May 2023. In August the car was hit in front by a truck which was backing up while my car was still - the truck driver failed to see my car and stop. Brought the car to a dedicated Genesis body shop at a Genesis dealership The car has been sitting at the shop for 4 months because the bumper cover had been backordered with no ETA. Finally, after 4 months the bumper arrived but the shop determined that front radar was damaged, ordered it - again backordered with no ETA and most likely another 4-6 months wait. Filed a complaint with National Genesis corporate but they are a joke - always promising to expedite and doing nothing. Update 5/16/24 I got vehicle back in late Jan 2024 and it has been flawless since. Very enjoyable to drive and perfect in everything apart from the mediocre range (190-200 miles at highway speeds) so you should plan ahead for longer trips. Got a simple USB transmitter at Amazon for $50 which enables wireless Android Auto and it has been working fine since then. So, the lack of wireless AA is not a big deal. Concierge service with local Genesis dealer has been wonderful and a great time saver. But parts availability remains a big issue for this vehicle. Update 01/31/2025 The ICCU unit - electrical device that is responsible for charging the 12 v battery died on the highway rendering the car undrivable. With great trouble (Friday nigh!) towed the car to the service center. They say that the unit is backordered with wait time 2-4 mo. . Cannot wait till my lease expires to get rid of this piece of junk. My next car will not be a Genesis for sure. I have owned cars for 30+ yrs (Audi, Lexus, Toyota Avalon etc) and never experienced such failure of 1.5 yrs old car that put my family in an extremely unsafe situation. All my cars before the Genesis ran just fine during the warranty period and never broke down then. Genesis is not on par with true luxury brands despite charging top dollar for their cars.

Amazing luxury EV, poor reliability, power issues
Purchased a GV70 Electrified in May 2023, after reviewing many premium EV's. After 16k miles and 18 months, my impressions: the car is wonderful to drive; fast, quiet, comfortable, excellent sound system. Recent upgrade allows wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Downside - the car has been in the shop many times for power issues, that were severe enough to have to tow it to the dealership. They don't know enough about this platform, and Genesis USA and Korea isn't helpful. Range isn't the best, so you have to plan your longer trips with time for charging stations. I'm hopeful that the 2025's have solved the power issues.

Great overall, lacking in places
I have had my Electrified GV70 for eight months now, and feel like I can give an honest opinion on this car. First - what made me fall in love was the comfort I felt when I climbed into the drivers seat. The seat is so much more comfortable than any other car seat I have sat in, not to mention the rolling seat massage!!! LOVE that it has heated and cooled front seats, for those HOT Dallas summers, and sometimes cold winters. Love that the backseat has heaters too. The look and feel is fantastic! Since it is electric, it’s such a smooth ride, and the suspension is fantastic! But the range is super disappointing, and has changed. First when I would charge to 80% I would get around 205 miles range on the gauge, but now it’s getting about 170s range at 80%. If it is more accurate, then I would be happy with at least that part, but the range is such a con for a car. It leaves you stressed to drive over an hour, because you are uncertain about the drive back. If the range was say 400, it would be worth its weight in gold. Now the stereo (Lexicon) is horrific! Coming from Bowers and Wilkins, Bose, and Bang and Olufsen, it is TRULY lacking. I know they are now coming with Bowers and Wilkins, but I know the odds of switching out my speakers is slim to none. That is truly a disappointment, as I am a music lover, and love deep bass and clear sound. While I love this car, would I buy it again? I’d think twice and probably shop around more, but if the range weren’t an issue, definitely a top notch car. Pros: extreme comfort, great aesthetic inside/out, super smooth, passenger comfort, packed with great features Cons: low and unpredictable range, weak stereo speakers, outside door lock button finicky

Dissapointed with GV70
I was very pleased when I bought my '18 G90. However, my mood is changing with each model Genesis puts out. I also purchased a '23 GV70 2.5T Advanced, which didn't have all the features that I wanted. I would have to had gone with the 3.5T Prestige Sport, which was very pricy($14,350 more), and didn't have the looks or colors that I was after; plus it gets bad MPG. What I missed most was HUD and heated rear seats. And now, the Electrified version has even less features in the "Advanced" package. They dropped the heated steering wheel, Lexicon sound system, 60/40 split rear seat, rear window shades and illuminated door scuff plates. I can't believe that if you need a heated steering wheel, you must pay another $6800 for the Prestige package. What is going on Genesis?
