I purchased a for transit with 20000 miles on it and at 65000 miles the transmission needs to be replaced. Apparently Ford knows the longevity of the transmission because they only put a 60K warranty on the unit. I reached out to Ford thinking that they would at least give me a partial adjustment since it is just out of warranty. They opened a claim file and it took me less then an hour to tell me there was nothing they could do. If you are looking for a long lasting low cost service vehicle this would not be the one. I will not be using Ford products for my fleet in the future.

This van does a good job of replacing the Chevy Astro. I haul alot of dogs to events, and this van gives you tons of room with a small car feel when driving. BUT! Very annoying to have metal side panel fly off...i was lucky mo one was hurt! So, more time at the shop getting one of the endless recalls done. Next, the entire sliding door FELL OFF. The door mechanism was CHEAP and i was out $600... After that mice ate the airbags and the entire van was totalled in less than 2 years. I bought a Nisson van and I have to say it handles MUCH better in the snow. The Ford could not be driven in snow at all.

I have had this van for 31,000 miles now. At first was very happy . Comfortable an a zippy ride. Plenty of cargo room an access. Then things started to break. Pulled down the visor and the attachment broke. Pulled on a inside door handle and it came off in my hand. Now transmission is making a funny noise. But somehow the mechanics cannot hear it? Of course not, because it costs Ford money to check a Sealed transmission out. I have had many service vehicles over 40 years. I wanted a small cargo van because in certain areas the larger is bulky and not fuel efficient. The build quality on this van not very good though it looks it. And while it is very expensive initially I received a shock to see its resale value is Very poor.

16k Miles took it for oil change, the service man ask me to come with him to the service bay. The transmission was leaking from the left axle. 10 years prior I had a bad experience with Ford and swear myself never buy a Ford again, forward to present here we go. After seeing this leak at 16k, I had the chills from 10 years of bad experience back again. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the seals, they told me the transmission oil was low and they top it off (never had any dashboard alert the oil was low) At 20k the transmission is shifting erratically, sometimes it doesn't shift when merging into a freeway, going up in a hill feels like the power disengage at times, or the whole car shakes trying to reverse from a parking, all this without any instrument light. Open the hood to check the oil, to my surprise the transmission does not have the stick to check the oil level, the users manual says you'd have to take the car to the dealer to check the trans oil. OMG..for real? Took it to the dealer thinking there is a diagnostic computer to the OBD terminal would tell me the oil level. The dealer service manager told me they have to drain the oil out to see how much it has or see how much is missing... How stupid that it? They didn't want to take the car into the shop since there aren't any check engine lights to diagnose the problem, he say ford would not pay them for the warranty work unless they can prove the problem. He say to keep on driving it until something brakes..sure this is a 25k miles 2014. Last week one the plastics they put to cover the windows holes on the sliding door fell off, thank goodness my driver was in a local road. Took it back to the dealer, to find out there is recall for that matter, but parts are not available until sometime jan-feb 2016, so if the other plastic in the other door falls off in the freeway and causes an accident, whos fault that would be? The engine has decent power and I get 21/22 mpg. I had in mind to purchase 10 vehicles for my service business within three years. Definitely not ford, unless I go back to the guzzlers at 9-12/mpg my grandpa drove. Update 12/03/16 Ford dealership replaced the transmission under warranty as well to the sliding doors panels that were falling off. The vehicle has now 33k and we haven't see any problems. The engine is very responsive. I am still not totally confident that these will last as much as our faithful full size chevy 5.3L we still have. Waiting to pull the trigger on full size or connect. Fuel price stabilization is the biggest factor.

I bought this wagon new to replace a Caravan. It has been good to me as I use it business and pleasure. I had to replace the third brake light as it failed. I also had a fuel pump failure but that was a recall and warranty. I don't like the cloth seats cheap material and I don't like the lack of arm rests. I do like the looks and the great utility. My wagon is race red and it sure reminds me of a big kid Radio Flyer. I have 50K on it and just replaced the tires. It averages 27mpg and runs great. It has lots of wind noise with the windows down which is annoying. I looked at the 2019 models and find that my 2014 model I like much better. As a business vehicle this can't be beat. I now have 71K had front rotors and brakes replaced. Replaced rt rear brake light and the info screen told me it was burnt out, neat! I now have 102k on it. Siriusxm antenna cracked and failed. rear spring broke.,a/c radiator replaced. It now has 106k and no problems. I will continue to say Ford has a quality problem which I feel they continue to ignore.
