Things can go wrong
My T-bird has had 6 engine coils replaced in less then 52,00 miles. The radio/CD player replaced 4 times. The engine thermostat replaced along with fan assembly. The hard top leaks and ford refuses to fix. It is normal to have some leakage. The brakes replaced 4 times. No I am not hard on brakes. The driver side rear quarter panel no longer lays flat with rest of body surface. The car stopped dead on the 15 freeway coming from Vegas in the fast lane without warning. The black paint faded in spots. The soft top frays in two areas. The T-bird fun to drive. But very expensive and does not provide the quality expected from Ford. Or does it?
Fun, Fun, Fun
Having owned several Thunderbirds previously,Ford really hit the mark this time. Besides being a fun car to drive, the styling is unique combining the old with the new.The ride is better than you would expect. With the hardtop in place the ride is better than average. The handling is excellent, considering this really is a relaxed cruiser. It's also comfortable and fairly quiet. As for the issue of not enough trunk space, you don't buy a car like this if you want a lot of trunk space. All in all this car is certainly a welcome change. This car is not exactly sluggish either. It's got plenty of pep.

fun,fun,fun
The bird has been my toy now for 6 months and im still not totally convinced its the car I was looking for.It is a fun car to criuse with and get neat comments, but it is not for any adreniline speed junkies. The handeling is fair, along with just adequate power to play with. Ford should offer the car with a six speed and better handling qualities. The build quality is apparent along with a nicely appointed interior.
New Classic
This T-Bird is by far the most enjoyable retro-classic 2 seat roadster to have on Sunday drives for this 49 yo driver! At a used price of $25000 for a 3 year old Red Premium convertable with hardtop that had sold for over $40000 new, this car is of terrific value to me. It is a luxury sport cruiser that just leaves a smile on my face when driving, easy smooth handling with plenty of power, and a wonderful conversation piece getting compliments everywhere! I'm done with Corvettes, Miata's, and Mustangs at this stage of life and really enjoy my retro bird for a relaxing cruise with the top down. Just a great car for this purpose!
Our Toy
Our "toy" was bought on a whim. I, the wife, saw it out in front of the Ford Dealer's lot and fell in love with the beautiful car. I called my husband and told him about it and asked that he call and ask what the price was. When I got home from work, I asked him if he had called. He told me that he had not but that we would go look at it. When he saw it, he bagan to bargain with the dealer and we eventually took it home with us. I was so nervous that I came up with every excuse I could think of to disuade him from his decision to buy it. All of this was to no avail. We now get many, many envious looks from people. Oh, what fun it has been!
