I find the t-bird to be an excellent cruiser. It has better riding quality than the so called sport cars. It gathers a lot of attention whereever I go. With the removeable top I really have two cars, although there should be device marketed to lift the top as it requires 2 persons to remove it. The mileage is good and a pleasure to drive.

Thunderbird Ride

My wife and I, who are in our early 50's were looking for a convertible for Sunday and getaway drives to the coast. We test drove several cars, all convertibles, a Crossfire SRT (330 h.p.), a Nissan 350 & a Vette. The Crossfire was simply too small. The Vette actually body swayed at high speeds. The Nissan was nice but too many on the road. The T-Bird was perfect! We got the premium package and it's a great ride with good road feel and more than enough power with 280 horses. It's a very comfortable ride and the Select Shift is good on curved roads. The stereo is great with three settings for top down, up and driver alone in car. Further, there's not too many on the road.

I love my 'bird! (So does my wife.) I have a Pacific Coast Roadster that is out of this world. She now has over 600 miles in 1 week, all from just cruising around. I have never heard of a car that gets as many comments as my 'bird - everyone loves this car! Like driving a classic with the safety, reliability, & features of new. The PCR is the '04 limited edition model and the only 'bird you can get with a light dash instead of black, which was a big factor in our decision. Only 1000 made, so not too common. Color very classy. Gas mileage good for a V8. Get both tops: ragtop-only costs double(!) to insure. You WILL be seen in this car!
