Used 2000 Ford Taurus Consumer Reviews
5 years, Paid off, and Going Strong
I cannot complain about my Taurus. I have owned it since she was born and the car still refuses to disappoint. There have been the minor recalls and I have followed the recommended maintenance program. But that is expected and necessary if you want long life out of any car. The power is enough for my driving style, and the car still looks great!
Duz it all....
Picked this wagon up cheaply with low miles. So far so good; comfortable, handles well and with the 24V Duratec, is really pretty quick for a mid-size wagon.
2000 Taurus SEL
This vehicle has many great hidden secrets about it. First, Ford doesn't tell you how the 200HP engine is really enderated and very powerful. This car is a dream to drive. The degisn of the body is reflective of serious vehicles like BMW, Lexus, and Mercedes Benz.
JUNK!
Many problems. Wind noise problems constantly. Front end vibration problems. Replaced all tires at 20000km. Went through 4 sets of front rotors. Had front stabilizers replaced twice. Sensors malfunctioned. Brake interlock malfunctioned,..etc...etc! I would not recommend this car to anyone no matter how good of a deal it is!
Not what I expected.
I've had my 2000 Taurus for about 1 year now and have been looking for ways to dump it for at least half that time. If I did not have to take such a beating on the negative equity it would have long been gone. I just don't care for it, from the ride to the gas mileage to the breaking system the car just does not do it for me.. There's no way this car can compete with the likes of Honda/Toyota/Nissan. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought it...
