After 7500 miles - 3 weeks for repair

I took delivery in October '04 and my wife and I like the car overall. Good car like ride, spacious interior, enough power, AWD and traction control. Noise level at 70 mph very low. We sold our 1996 Jeep LTD with 57,000 miles on it (nothing but problems ). Our Freestyle has been in the repair shop for 3 weeks now. While we were driving on the freeway at 60 mph the dash lights would come on and show us symbols like: Brakes, ABS, Traction, and the speedometer needle would drop to zero while you are driving at 60 mph. This happened 4 times to us. The dealership could not repeat the problem while in the shop. The whole dashboard electrical cluster had to be replaced. Will see whether they fixed it .

Fits me Like a Glove

Its the best car that I've owned. It has the versatility of the SUV, the comfort of a sedan, and seats seven like a minivan. It seems that whatever I need to do, the Freestyle accommodates. No matter what you call it, SUV, Wagon, Sports Utility Wagon Van, no matter, I just love it.

MY SEL

I traded in an Explore Eddie Bauer V-8 because I drive 19,000 to 35,000 miles a year and the gas mileage on the Explore V-8 was not good. I have had the SEL for one month and have driven it 2,851 miles. I have averaged about 25.9 miles per gal. The seats fit me (I am 6'4" tall) better than my Explorer and the feel of the car is good. I do miss seating higher up but I am still higher up than a car. Over all I like the Freestyle SEL and it is fun to drive.

North Country Driver is Impressed

I was reluctant to own an SUV or minivan -- I commute 80 miles a day. But because of winter driving (and a growing family) it seemed to make sense to drive something with good ground clearance. We test drove about eight vehicles before settling on the Ford -- and I was no fan of Fords so ending up with this car was a complete surprise! I am pleased with the handling of this car and there is no shortage of space. Mileage is consistently around 22-23 with a few tanks of gas getting 25 mpg. This was the first Freestyle in the area and it has gotten a lot of positive comments on the nice looks and functionality.

Smooth ride

I have been quite happy with my Freestyle over the last month. It drives like a car and feels very safe. The 4 wheel independent suspension offers a very smooth ride. Mileage is great. I am impressed with the acceleration and the smooth feel of the CVT. The Freestyle makes a great weekend get away machine!
