Used 2005 Ford Freestyle Consumer Reviews
Freestyle the perfect blend
My wife and I had to find a family car - Mustangs just don't take car seats. The roominess inside is great, even 3rd row. Excellent cargo capacity while lacking that soccer-mom image. Our first choice. The Pacifica didn't even compare - overpriced, no room inside, seats didn't look like they went down. Every time we test drove the car it just felt right, even after driving a Honda Odyssey with all the creature comforts. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a family car.
Review on Edmunds
I haven't been on an extended trip yet, but have some limited time on highway. Horse power is adequate. Kids love the room, and the fact all seats are comfortable.
Gas Mileage
Good concept, but doesn't live up to my expectations. Gas mileage around town is 14-15 mpg, not much better that the 12 mpg I was getting from my 5.4 Expedition.
Am I the only one with a problem?
The Ford Freestyle has given me nothing but grief beginning 2 weeks after the purchase of my car. I have already had the transmission and electrical wiring replaced within 1 month of the purchase of my vehicle. The car doors don't shut properly, many time the car won't start, or will shut off when placed in gear shortly after start up. Car constantly hesitates. Grinding noises when I cut the wheel.
Outstanding SUV/Car/Truck
This car is pure enjoyment to drive! The CVT working with the engine provides good power and good MPG. Smooth and quiet ride as compared to my previous 3 Windstars and two Saturns. Seats are comfortable and lots of storage space and cupholders.
