Used 2005 Ford Freestyle Consumer Reviews
No Compromises Crossover
Just got the Freestyle this week, and people ask what it is - and I respond a great vehicle. Plenty of features, leather seating, DVD, Moonroof, seats six (middle row buckets), and thoughtfully built. Nice features such as outside perimeter lighting, auto-dimming mirror for night driving, driver's side on door keypad is multi-functional. Drives great, plenty of pep around town, great passing from 50 - 70, at just over $28K, a great value compared to the few others with all these features and similar size. Tried looking at Toyota Highlander, Buick Rendevous, Honda Pilot, or another mini-van, but after 19 straight years of minivan life, this is a great change, even compared to our two sedans.
My car
This car is everything I had hoped it would be. The transmission is so smooth - you don't notice that it never shifts, power is constant.

Great ride
This is a great car that more people should discover. It has all the attributes we were looking for in a vehicle. Stable, handles well, not too small, roomy, good fuel mileage, modern technology, smooth ride, quiet. The CVT transmission is amazing. It is a fun car that is way bigger than it appears.
Great smaller SUV
It's a great small SUV and handles very well. True, it is a bit underpowered, but it's a sharp looking, nicely equipped vehicle with tons of room for cargo and people. I love it! Having a daughter in college moving in and out of dorms, I needed the large room, but not the large fuel costs of a Tahoe or Explorer.
My 2005 Freestyle FWD
I have 2500 miles on my 2005 Freestyle FWD and so far it is the best vehicle I have ever owned. My previous vehicle was a '98 Explorer Sport and it gave me 115,000 trouble free miles. In my opinion the Freestyle has been well engineered to have an effective balance between fuel economy and performance. I have never felt the need for more power. If I wanted a sports or muscle car I would have bought one, but this car is not gutless from a drivers perspective. My close second choice was a Honda Odyssey, but in the end I liked the overall driving experience I felt driving the Freestyle. It feels smooth, tight, quiet and responsive.
