2011 5-spd, with 7500 miles. Positives: very satisfied overall, fun to drive, great design, averaging 41 mpg highway and town (not city) driving, comfortable ride, excellent handling, good brakes, reasonably quiet. Negatives: slightly underpowered, but OK for the mileage it gets, could use a sixth gear on the manual, rpms are a bit high at speed, mine is white, looks great but the undercoat is black, and the paint chips very easily, leaving black holes in the finish, no cabin air filter, and squirrels ate the insulation from under the hood, which the dealer wouldn't cover, even though in my opinion this is a design oversight on Ford's part.

Just hit a little over 3000 miles on my fiesta and so far so good. I love the handling and fuel efficiency. My friend who owns a three series BMW was in my car and we had many of the same features (he didn’t have sync or ambient lighting). One problem has been that the usb and auxiliary jack are too close together. Also I would of liked more horsepower. Overall this is a great little car. Great Job Ford

Car is very small inside. Driver side window won't roll up all the way after one year. I will bring back to the dealer this weekend and see what happen. I was thinking of supporting American economy by buying this brand new Ford Fiesta 2011. But the quality are disappointing.

Thank you Ford! The Fiesta set a new standard for this segment. The wife and I were just looking for what's out there (planning to buy in 2011). We found the Fiesta and I have to say. this car sells its self. It's nimble yet drives like a larger car. We got the 6 speed twin clutch automatic. With the 6 speed and 1.6l 4 together work wonderfully. We got the car in Indio, California and it gets very hot there (130's). So A/C is a must. Even with my wife 3 kid (5, 8, 14 yrs) and myself the A/c blasting the Fiesta is very eager the please. A must drive and you'll experience this car yourself. Two thumbs up and a big smile!

I wanted a small car that would be fun and efficient. This one hit the mark dead on. My other car is a Corolla which has been 100% reliable so it was hard finding a car that would meet my expectations. 800 miles on it and holding at a steady 33.9 MPG with about 50/50 city/highway. And I drive like it's a sports car. Handles like a dream. Very comfortable seating and all the controls are well positioned. The sync and ambient lighting are perfect. The back seat legroom is tight but it's a small car. It won't win any races going uphill but the power is more than sufficient for normal driving. Get the tinted windows if you have a black interior, it really looks sharp.

Ford Fiesta SES (2011)

I agree and fully enforce edmonds review of this vehicle. I decided to write this review because my previous car was a 2008 Ford Edge SEL and I NEVER thought I would move to a sub compact. I am 6'0 ft tall. The very first time I sat in it I was completely comfortable. I am a stickler for arm and leg room. I don't like feeling squished at all. This car has a big car feel, more fuel value and a lower mo. payment! I did not want to compromise my safety or comfort. My black (w. sparkles) Fiesta came with preferred options like heated seats, moon roof, ambient lighting and folding rear seats that extend the trunk space considerably. Needless to say it fits a lot more than I expected. Great car!

I bought this car in august 2010.. my first car i've ever bought and It's been ok for the first 20,000kms.. you have to drive it decently cuz if you drive the RPMS up to much it will give your car problems. I have to say though recently I just had the car in the shop the past 3 weeks for RPM problems.. My car would basically drive itself.. I would sit in first gear at a complete stop and my RPM would revv all the way up to 3000 rpms.. its not a safe car at all. Only thing I would say is good about this car is the gas mileage.. thats about it. 100% DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!! I cant wait to sell it and get a honda civic and never have to deal with this problem.

The car is in the shop right now after putting in only 100 miles.I have an engine light on and a traction control. The technician told me that they have to change the whole engine. They have to order the engine first and it would take probably two weeks to fix it. I bought the car because I read a lot of good reviews from this car. I'm very disappointed!!

Ordered new from the factory in 2010, the vehicle now has 51004 miles on it as of this morning, with 27k being HARD miles driven while using it for a courier job that I had. My wife and I have made a 2500 mile round-trip journey with this vehicle, driving 23+ hours each way non-stop, and I can speak for the comfort of the front seats. After all of the things this vehicle has been through we have had only one mechanical issue, a leaky front right boot, and nothing else. Regular maintenance has done the trick. We have the 6-speed auto. Would recommend this vehicle! Great gas mileage (36+ mixed daily driving), reliable, fun to drive. My wife and I have driven this vehicle off-road :P

I have owned over 25 cars, this is a good car. It was willed to me, and I am happy that I wound up with it. It has good acceleration on the freeway, is comfortable, has a great stereo system, SYNC works well, it even has the Sirius Satellite option. The only problems I have had with it are: Stud for bracket for shifting mechanism backed out of the transmission housing causing it to not go into gear, had to repair with a Time-Sert (helicoil), ignition switch just went bad, and there was some issue with the gas pedal sensor that was covered under warranty. My car is white, I tinted the windows, added an aftermarket center console and found some 15 spoke 17x7 Ford Racing wheels, alloy, so it looks very sporty. I am overall happy with my car.

I usually keep my vehicles about 10 years and then sell them myself. I traded this car in after 4 years because I could not in good conscience sell it to anyone. Jerky, multiple code problems, sensor problems, excelleration problems, etc...what a piece of junk! Wanted to buy a Ford since they did not take bale out money. Back to being a Chevy girl.

This is a wonderful car with great build quality, a great ride and great handling. I've had this car nearly a month now and I must say that I'm very impressed with it overall. Overall, Ford has hit a home run with this car. I was considering a Honda Fit but chose the Fiesta instead. It simply had a superior ride. Having said that though, it was a tough choice given the the versatility of the Fit. If the Fiesta and the Fit had a baby together, it would be a perfect car. On the refresh of the Fiesta, at the very least, Ford should have the rear seats fold flat and ditch the huge rear headrests. In order to fold the seats flat I have to remove mine. The Fit has the superior design here.

This car was chosen by my daughter as it was "new" and had great ads etc. It "looked great" I guess like a pair of shoes. I drove it and gently attempted to talk her out of it after I noticed the window sticker. No the mileage is pretty good if not great but its made in Mexico? I nearly had a myocardial infarction on the spot. I don't want a car made in Mexico, sorry folks it's not that I don't like Mexico but honestly I just don't see this as a place that has a history of building great cars that last forever. Last I remember VW built their last beetles there? Anyway, yeah it squeaks, rattles and it's getting worse not better, who takes it in. Yep it's me. But could be worse?

I wanted a car with fuel economy and ended up with the Fiesta. It's fun to drive, well built, and the MPG are nice! It's better than a hybrid, in my book, because of the easier maintenance and less effect on the environment (you read that right). Batteries in hybrids are very toxic to manufacture and depose of. I love the handling, features, and design of my Fiesta!

3,000 miles into my ownership experience, I have found my Fiesta to be OK. Exterior styling is fine-most heard comment is "cute" On the interior, love the front seats but the back seat leg room is inadequate. No center armrest and somewhat spartan with the SE trim level (no cruise control for instance) Ride is comfortable but already hearing some squeaks from interior trim at higher speeds. Acceleration is what you would expect from a car in this class. Gas Mileage has been 35 mpg with a 60/40 highway/city split. Nice little commuter car but not totally in love.

Performance: unless we measure performance with how loud of a scrapping noise the transmission makes, than I give the Fiesta a 1. Comfort: 5'3" Driver, I am not comfortable without an armrest. 5'11" side passenger has seat all the way back. 5'0'' driver can't fit behind 5'11". Value: paid 15k for an SE Sedan with Super Fuel Economy (code for cruise control) and Sync (bluetooth connectivity) and a transmission that made scrapping noise. 1. Interior/Exterior Design: trendy. 4. Build Quality: transmission replaced at 300 miles. 1. Reliability: transmission replaced at 300 miles. 1.

I might as well copy and paste the many comments I on here as mine as the same. We've had the car for a year and all of the same issues are happening - 'transmission' or 'clutch system' replaced, shifting issues, been in the shop, going back in now because it just won't turn over - it is like owning a wind up toy. Don't Listen to Others About the Fiesta

justin022, 02/12/2013

The fiesta's first section of the owner's manual clearly states to SET YOUR ENGINE BY DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS. Since this is a unique type of engine, the first 5000 miles are extremely important in the performance of the car from then on out. This simply means don't accelerate at extremely high speeds, don't drive extremely slow. It's that easy. The engine is a manual-automatic and needs to be set. All of the morons on here complaining about jerky transmission and slow acceleration obviously DIDN'T READ THE OWNER'S MANUAL. It's a great car if you treat it right. At least 38 MPG and it has been very reliable so far. AWESOME.

I purchased my car in April and got it right off the truck. It is a 6-speed trans, SE sedan. For me the trans is a love/hate situation. When in stop/go traffic, it tends to buck/jerk. I took it to the dealer and they found nothing...that's right on par with what service guys/gals are programmed to say. The next time I ask them to have the Trans Guy ride with me. The car has alot of European touch's that we are not used to getting in a car at this price. I.e., a liquid cooled, oil cooler. Because of the normally fine 6-speed trans, there is little to no effort staying with the traffic on an up-hill clime.

The Fiesta' s transmission failed at 12,500 miles, the replacement one was ok for about 30,000 miles but now shifts like garbage too with a shudder issue at take off. Also ABS pump has now failed and hey my dashboard is yelling Merry Christmas.STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAR JUNK!

I have owned my Fiesta hatchback for 2 months now. The Sync system is a joke. The only part of it that works 50% of the time is syncing my Ipod. None of the voice commands listed in the owners manual work except the initial sync. The transmission jerks while shifting if I'm driving below 30 miles per hour. I have 2,000 miles on my car and I have to take it into the dealer to have the software on 3 of the cars computers updated. I can only imagine what awaits me down the road regarding the computers. Gas milage is cut by 8 mpg unless I go through a long process to disengage the traction control every time I start the car.

My 2011 Fiesta Sedan has over 15,000 miles on it. I can get >40 MPG highway without the SFE package installed, mid 30s MPG mixed daily driving. This is using the Powershift 6-speed automatic, which was not a review option. Fit and finish is excellent, comfort - even on long trips - is that of a full-sized car. Styling, handling all speak high quality and care in manufacture. I liked the 2011 model so well, I have ordered a 2012! Nice job, Ford!

My Fiesta replaces a Civic Si sedan. Before, I had a Passat followed by a GTi. The Fiesta is down on power and size, but it is the equal to those cars in all other respects. I got way more for my money than I expected. It is quiet, comfortable and good looking both inside and out. It handles great and feels substantial on the highway. I chose the Fiesta because I planned to give it to my oldest child eventually, but I really like it for me. It is small and a modest performer, but it does not feel like budget transportation in any way. If you are looking for a small car for your commute (rather than the family), I sincerely recommend the Fiesta. My SE hatch is an outstanding value.

I have mine lowered 2” front and rear, sway bars front and rear, HID lights, and flow master exhaust system..... that being said, it is awesome at taking corners, a little hard at taking the potholes in Michigan though. The sound is really good with the flow master even thought it is a tiny little 4 cylinder. There is tons of storage in the trunk (hatchback). There is no seating in the backseat for anyone unless your in a car seat though.

Bought our 2011 Fiesta new when it first came out. Overall it is a good steady/reliable car, with ours having 155,000km on it now. We have done the basic maintenance on the car and it has lasted well for the last 9 years through harsh Canadian winters and roads. The biggest con is the transmission. It does stumble, bog down, and have problems getting up to speed. It also sounds horrible when it shifts. Ford did put a new clutch pack into the transmission under warranty at 90,000km, this replacement did help for a while, but now with 60,000km, later the bogging, shuddering, is back on accelerations. However, it does still function. Overall good fuel economy, sporty, and practical. But the Transmission does let it down in a big way. Although, the overall quality of the car outside of this is very good. I would recommend lower Mile/Kilometer Fiesta for someone who wants a reliable used car.

The automatic is not as smooth as traditional slushomatics so it took a while for my other half to get used to it as she never drove a stick. For me it was fine because I was used to sticks and if I could shift as fast as this car does it would feel the same. There was an issue with hunting for gears in parking lots but the transmission was reprogrammed to change shift points at low speeds and it has noticeably smoothed it out. The trunk is a decent size for a car in this class and the rear seats fold for more useable space. Rear passenger room is tight for adults which is why this car gets 4 (i wish I could go 4 1/2) stars. As a second car which rarely carries people in the back but commutes to work, goes on costco runs etc. it works, has enough zip to be safe in traffic and gets good fuel economy.

We've owned this car for 2 weeks now, and it has been a pleasure to drive. We're used to driving a Mazda Miata manual shift, and while the Fiesta is not a sports car, it comes real close to having a sports car experience. And we're amazed at how quiet the cabin is, even driving next to trailer trucks in heavy traffic.

We bought our Fiesta a little over 2 weeks ago. We immediately took it on a 2000 mile trip. I'm 6/4", and I was comfortable even after driving for hours. Not much legroom in the back, but plenty up front. We were amazed about how quiet it was, and how good the fit and finish was. When you close the doors, you get a nice satisfying solid sound, like it's well built. It has several options normally only found on bigger cars, like heated leather seats, heated mirrors, sync, a soft-touch dash, and an auto-dimming mirror. So, after 2 weeks, and 2600 miles, we have found a lot to like about it, and I would highly recommend it.

I have had this car for about a month now and I am fairly satisfied. Im a single guy with no kids so I could really care less about the leg room for the back seat. Besides for a single guys sometimes its even better to collapse the seats down for a bit more cargo space. I love the exterior design and the interior of the SE model is very sleek for a compact car in its price range. You will LOVE the built in bluetooth/SYNC system. The only dissapointments I have is the jerky clutch/automatic transmission that does struggle at time when going from stop to 30 mph, after that it drives very smooth and it has excellent suspension for a vehicle its size. I have yet to reach 30 mpgs yet :(

Lease was up on my BMW 335. My better half got to choose the car this time: The Fiesta. Surprisingly enough, this car has some of the same features as the BMW (not just tires, bumpers...) heated leather seats, heated mirrors, keyless ignition, etc. The Sync system is very versatile and informative. The instrument cluster and dash layout are intuitive, though the Sync has a bit of a learning curve. The car does not drive as well as the BMW, but it takes road bumps at least as well (thank you BMW run flats). Except for the vast amount of space you get with the Fit, the Fiesta outperforms that vehicle in every way. The Fiesta is very quiet when compared to the Fit which is ridiculously loud.

I have had my car for 3 weeks today and have gone 3000 miles thus far. This car exceeds my expectations in gas mileage, handling and features. Fiesta is quiet (no road noise) and the auto volume adjustment is great when you open/close the window and change speeds. Living in the mountains I needed a car that could handle the climb and has good cornering: this car does it and still gets good mileage. Fiesta is able to maintain its speed going up steep terrain without a problem. Ford has outdone itself with this little gem. It is very affordable with all the features added as well as feels like you're in a higher class car.

We purchased this vehicle "off the lot" a little more than a week ago and have been quite pleased thus far. The ride is exceptional. This car is fun to drive. This is an excellent 2nd vehicle for getting back and forth to work. After one week, the vehicle got 32 MPG in a suburban commuter setting.

I have had no issues with it, love it. For me it runs great. I have no regrets. I do accelerate hard now after first 1000 miles. I have 15k on it now.

My little automatic 1.6 engine is quite peppy! I'm averaging 32 mpg in the city, and have seen it as high as 42 on the highway. The "electronic assist" feature should be very useful but may require getting used to. It got confused when I tried to merge quickly into fast moving traffic from a stoplight that was on a steep hill and in a sharp turn. Next time I'll try it in "L" gear. The front seats are comfortable and the drivers seat is very adjustable, as is the steering wheel. The storage trunk is nicely sized for such a small car. There are four cup holders for the front seat. It has a nice tight turning radius and is super easy to park!

I purchased this vehicle to replace 98 Kia Sephia. I have a SE hatchback w/Sync, Cruise Control. I am quite pleased with the Fiesta. Good design, nice fuel economy, quit (very quit), fun to drive. The hatchback has quite a bit of storage. I like the gauge cluster and telescopic steering wheel. The low end acceleration takes a bit of getting use to - jerky starts are common. Limited room w/backseats. I like the blind spot mirror as well. Handling is good - a little loose when entering corners. Overall a great, fun car to drive.

Car handles well on curves. Accelerates nicely but needs a little more oomph. Gearing is a little awkward, the dual clutch transmission is a little jumpy going from first to second then down to first gear as if its trying to find the right gear ratio at speed. Emergency braking is excellent.

I've had my automatic Fiesta for 3 weeks and I love it. It is way more fun to drive than its 120 hp would suggest - maintains highway speed effortlessly, passes cars easily, and I don't feel like potential road kill in it. Nothing feels cheap or sluggish, and the seats are really comfortable. Even in high heat when I'm blasting the AC all day both ways, I still average 30 mpg. On cool days when I can drive with windows down I get over 40 on the highway.

This was my first new car. I've always bought used cars from toyota's to porsche's but none of them impressed me until my ford aspire with 200,000 miles on it. Ford dealers were AWESOME every need met and got a great price for my Fiesta S 5speed manual trans under $10,000. I've been driving this vehicle for over a year now. 16,000 miles on it and I still gloat over it. Handles great in any weather, gets the same fuel economy as my motorcycle (38-43mpg) and surprisingly comfortable. Ford built a great car here. No regrets or complaints.

Tiny backseat for rear facing carseats

Very difficult to find a rearfacing convertible car seat that will fit in the backseat. Even with the passenger seat pushed all the way forward, it is almost impossible to find a convertible car seat that will recline properly to rear face in the tiny backseat. Our infant seat barely fit. My husband has always called it a clown car. Not a car for a family with young kid(s)

I love the car. I have have been getting excellent gas mileage, I also love the comfort and quiet that the car provides. The power makes it feel like it has more than the 120 hp that the engine has. I only wish that it was a coupe.
