I purchased this vehicle with nearly every option I wanted (pwr everything, sunroof, roof rack, nerf bars, keyless entry, 4WD, leather, etc). I purchased it 2 years old with about 56k on it - which is a lot for two years, but not much overall. Needless to say, due to mileage the warranty had expired, but I remember Fords as being fairly reliable - not the case with this 2000 Model. I have had the fuel system fail on my among other things. I should have bought a Chevy Tahoe.....

I am sure that any positive review is from a Ford dealer or someone who has an interest in selling one. Because this car is probably the biggest pile of junk ever built. The biggest problem is that the dealer cant even fix them. I am on my third transmission. If you look online you will see that they all have the same known problem. I get a random check engine light that comes back as "bad shift solenoids". Dealer changer shift solenoids . and it was not the problem. Shifting problem misteriously went away for 1 yr and is now back. In true FORD fashion nerf bars rusted and literally fell off of the car, EGR rusted through and caused all kinds of problems, bad mass airflow sensor, etc

We bought a 2000 Ford Explorer from a friend. All the doors don't work except the driver. We had to change oxygen sensors 3 times. The driver seat broke. The trunk broke. This car awful

I commonly refer to this vehicle as my "Exploder"--I've had to have the engine and power steering replaced, the power window motor on the driver's side stopped working, when I put on the blinker, my windshield wipers start going, and now the transmission is falling apart to the tune of over $1000! When will it end?! Is this what "Ford Tough" is? I would personally like to push this truck off of a very tall cliff!
