Still loving it.
We have a little over 40,000 miles on the vehicle. Zero service required. Our gas mileage has improved to an average 19.5 - 20.5. Most of our driving is rural. I still think it is an awesome vehicle and ranks at the top of my all time favorites that we’ve owned.

Ford has a winner!!
My last 3 vehicles owned were 2017 Land Cruiser, 2015 Suburban and a 2014 Escalade. We now have 4 kids and the Land Cruiser was getting too cramped. I looked at another Escalade and it just did not have the features and comfort of the 2018 Expedtion Max. The space in the front, second Row and third row with the tip forward seating is awesome. The EcoBoost pulls like a jet engine with great gas mileage for such a big truck. There’s plenty of USB ports for the kids devices. The fit and finish is very good, however it’s not quite on par with the Land Cruiser. My wife likes the light feeling the steering gives vs the tighter feel of the LC. We like the Ford Pass app that connects with the Sync 3 system. Some of the bells and whistles are gimmicky in my book like the auto parking and trailer backup assist, but hey....it’s one heck of a fun toy! Overall, Ford did a good job on the truck and has raised the barn in the full size SUV category.

Rolling large in style!
We opted to go with the Limited trim on the Max, planning to keep this a while and the added features make it hard to want anything more. I've had a Lincoln with the same motor for five years (plus many of the features the Limited trim added to the Expedition) and I still love it. The engine has over 100K miles and still runs flawlessly. I'm amazed by the acceleration from this enormous vehicle. You wont be running down sports cars, but you will have no trouble merging into interstate traffic. It moves better than I thought possible for something so large. It's also ridiculously smooth and comfortable. The independent rear suspension gives it a superior ride to the top competitors. The Sync 3 is an improvement versus my older vehicle and the B&O sound system is beautiful. Last little nugget; unlike one of the main competitors, the rear glass opens separately from the tailgate. As tall as it is, I don't think we'll be using it for getting groceries in and out but if you're a DIY guy like me you will appreciate being able to haul longer planks. Sticker shock aside, we have no regrets! Six months later, we're still happy. We made the right choice!

Nothing but problems
Our 2018 only has 70k miles. We're on our 3rd cam phaser, both twin turbos have gone out, and we just had to have it towed to the dealer for a new set of problems. Perhaps this particular car is a lemon, but I will never buy another ford.

Love my SUV, hate the issues
I bought my truck used with 14,400 miles on it. I went with the expedition instead of the suburban because of available options and price.. Less than a mile from the dealership, all of the dash went out and then the truck died. The gateway module went out but it was covered under warranty. It took almost 5 weeks to get my truck back. A few weeks later, back in the shop for sunroof drain leak. Few weeks later, leaking again. Last month it was in the shop for three weeks to replace the module for the shift differential. Yesterday, the check engine light came on so back it goes. I have only had this truck one year and it has 26,000 miles now. The dealership is so great about the issues we've had and luckily we got the extended warranty because that is the only reason I haven't lost my mind.
