Love This Truck

I’ve owned this truck for 18 years and 170k miles. 2 coils, an alternator, heater and my son fixed the cruise control with a paper clip. And of course regular maintenance and replacement of hoses and belts. White color still looks decent and the interior has held up very well. My truck has seen many, many family road trips driving in the mountains and to the beach and it always handles well in any weather. Excellent value!

I have 2001 expedition.Purchased new. From day 1 I have a knocking noise at startup that goes away after a few minutes of warm-up.Dealer says normal for 5.4l.Also since purchase I have noticed the vehicle runs differently in cool/cold temps versus temps above 88 degrees.Truck seems to bog somewhat from dead stop.I have169k on vehicle know.Replaced a few coils, ball joint, and alternator over 17yrs.A/C still cold,I change oil,5w-30 syn blend, every 3-4k.Burns @ 1.5 qts between changes,no smoke.Wish I knew what caused those 2 issues.I have lived with them for 17yrs!

Rust Bucket 2001

I loved the car - served us well. Garage kept BUT by 2012 a muffler shop thought the car was a flood car. Under the car was so rusted out it looked like it sat in a jungle for 100 years. After 15 years the frame disintegrated and had to be scraped - an otherwise nicely kept SUV. That should never happen. So I can only give this SUV 2 stars due to the very short lifespan we had. Yes we live in the Midwest but none of my other cars even came remotely close to the rust this car had.

Great Truck

The menu did not allow you to select 5.4 l. I purchased with 21k miles and have loved this for over the road trips. I pulled an 8500 lb boat from Wash DC to Key West no problem. At 110k I replaced plugs and three coils not sweat. I did have to have the ball joints and universal replaced at around 100k. She still runs great. Recently got 17 mpg on a trip from Pittsburg Pa to Panama City fl 70+ mph. It now has 153k miles and I have no intention of ever getting rid of it. Have run synthetic oil since purchase and have the transmission serviced on a 40k schedule. Lucas transmission additive makes it shift smooth. Lucas fuel additive keeps the injectors clean.

190,000 miles and still rolling. Maybe $1000 worth of repairs since new. A great ride. Would definitely by another but not until this one has seen it's day.
