Used 2001 Ford Escort Consumer Reviews
01 ZX2
Bought new in 01, still going strong. The timing belt must be replaced around 115,000 or it may break. Replaced the alternator around 118,000. If you do regular upkeep as directed in the owners manual, it will keep going.
5 years later
I bought a 2001 ZX2 in 2003 used for $9000. The tape player didn't work...still doesn't, but who uses tapes anyway? Radio is good, AC is super cold. It had 32,000 miles on it then, now has 75,000 and still runs great. Gas mileage is awesome, and I've had the serpentine belt replaced once. It has to be replaced again soon. Overall, this has been a great first car, it saw me through college and I'm going to keep it until it dies.
2001 Escort SE - A Great Little Scooter!
I had an '88 Nissan Sentra which was on its last legs when I bought this car. It has "bare bones" extras: A/C and Automatic. Despite this, I enjoy driving it - this car makes my daily commute comfortable as well as exciting!
My new ZX2
I love my Escort ZX2. It has all the power, room, and features that a college student like me needs. I have the moon roof, 6-disc CD changer, cruise, tilt steering, AC, and custom wheels, what else could I want?
Drive One... You'll see!
This is a sweet car! This is my 2nd one I had a 99 ZX2 but hit a deer and traded it in for my 01 ZX2..The 99 was strip model however this is power everything and manual.. IF ya can drive stick GET IT! It's black fav. color and really good against a LANCER, Poor guy thought he could take a ZX2...he was wrong! lol! It's NOT a ESCORT <-- those suck, This has a 130 hp engine that can move it along, However escort's have 110hp and suck! So yea THIS is called a ZX2 so don't be ashamed when telling your friends you own a ZX2 (Show'em the back bumper "says" "ZX2") LOL! Enjoy it if ya OWN ONE! Cuz I AM!
